One of the things I miss from ye olden days is when ship names weren't just amalgamations of names.

Like Angbang and Silvergifting - it shows those are very old ships. That was the way back then.

I would love to see more of those.

That he got her to drop her unaffected soldier exterior and snap at him is so personal to me. Not only does she get angry, but her comeback is so much like a child, so intimate, like something you’d say to someone you’ve known all your life.Here is this High Elf, a princess, a commander, and she’s lived for longer than he ever will. But she doesn’t tell him to watch his tongue. She doesn’t say,”who do you think you’re talking to?!”. She’s just like shut the fuck up loser at least I’m here because of insane behaviour,you’re here because you fought and lost to a bunch of drunks “over a woman”.how embarrassing for you lol.

I repeat: A high Elf, a princess, a commander of armies, who we’ve seen being informal with only and only Elrond at this point.

Thing about waiting and theorizing about trop season three vs hotd season three is that with the latter I don’t really age any hopes .Like I’ll probably watch it for the hotd moots and my live for Alicent/the greens/lingering affection towards the show but I really doubt it will get better as a show as a whole .If it does I’m glad ofc but still .Meanwhile with trop I DO care so I do have hopes since they fed me so well for two seasons meanwhile hotd season one was mid with some very good stuff meanwhile season 2 was ….season two .

Whatever [Jamie Campbell Bower's] role may be exactly, it is expected to be a major departure from the monstrous Vecna Bower plays on Stranger Things, something he recently alluded to at a fan convention while bringing up a conversation with his therapist about his post-Stranger Things plans.

“I turned around to him, and I was like, ‘to be honest with you, man, I just don’t think I’ll be doing another bad guy for a minute,’” Bower was quoted as saying. “Like it f—s me up. I’m dead serious.”

Not much is known about Marsan’s character either (code name Dromm) besides the fact that he has a brother. Since the role reportedly required a Scottish accent, the English actor could presumably be playing a dwarf.

I think this little piece of the council in ep 8 Alloyed:

Celebrimbor: 'It would be smaller than previously imagined. Something that could be carried -'

Elrond: 'As scepter, perhaps?'

Galadriel: 'A sword?'

Celebrimbor: 'Or perhaps ... A crown.'

says so much about each character who speaks the words.

Elrond respects the ceremonial aspects of political power, being a Herald himself. His token would be a scepter, something that has no practical purpose, but links political Arda power to the spiritual power. (I'm taking my interpretation of this from what I know the scepter represents in western political history, it might be different in Middle Earth.) Symbolic and implied.

Galadriel's chief role for the past couple of centuries has been as army commander, so she thinks of a weapon as power. Preactical and direct.

Celebrimbor is an elf Lord and his choice goes to a mainly decorative piece that shows off the power and wealth of the wearer, since crown are often bejeweled, but which also implies nobility and a certain 'chosen-ness' for the wearer.

I just think it's extremely funny that it is all of the above and then Gil-Galad is just like ... you are all fools.

That is TRUE king shit.
