“Think you killed it already, Lt.” Soap’s hand rests on Ghost’s shoulder. Part of his brain is set alight like a flare, wants to run, he’s going to scream, but another wants to lean into the touch. It wants to be comforted, held until the only thing around him is Johnny. That’s not something he will ever allow himself.
