An Exposé on the Court of Owls, by Red Robin (NOT THE RESTAURANT, HOOD!)

The Court of Owls. Known throughout Gotham, but thought to be myth. A simple children's story, like the Boogeyman or Solomon Grundy (Who's also real). Immortalized in various rhymes told throughout the ages, most boiling down to a few simple commonalities.

They're always watching

They rule Gotham

Don't talk about them

Or you'll get a "talon" sent after you.

They're real. And I've fought Talons and made it out. Here's what I've learned about the Court:

It's a secret society of an undertermined amount of members of Gotham's Elite. Constance Cobblepot, formerly John Wycliffe, and formerly Maria Powers, to name a few. They rule the city, influencing policy and projects undertaken.

What are Talons?

That's probably one of the biggest questions most people have. Talons are one of two things.

"Volunteers" resurrected using a substance that we have yet to identify, into a crude simulacrum of life.

Volunteers who serve as still-living assassins for the Court.

They are all incredibly skilled fighters, the former due to feral unpredictability and the latter due to being put through rigorous testing to become a Talon.

What is the Goal of the Court of Owls?

The Court of Owls has many goals, none extremely clear, but all boiling down to one core principle. Control. The Court of Owls wants to control Gotham, and I'm sure they also want to control other cities if they don't already. They have money, influence, and power.

Who is in the Court of Owls?

Obviously we don't know every member, but some notable members in my home universe who I have reason to suspect of being involved in the Court in this universe as well include:

Jacob Kane

Constance Cobblepot

John Wycliffe

Maria Powers

And more.

The only people of Gotham's high society who I have managed to clear are:

Kate Kane

Bruce Wayne

Tim Drake

Other members of the Wayne and Kane families are either heavily suspected, or close to being cleared but not quite.

Or deceased.

I will update this study as I learn more and gather more data about the Court of Owls.

The people deserve to know.

I will never admit to liking the restaurant Red Robin. It's delicious, but I will never admit it. Because then everyone will say I named myself after them. I stole the name from a former Gotham vigilante, though. There used to be a different one named Red Robin.
