Saiino fanfic recommendation list

I’ve decided to make a list of my favourite saiino fics for fellow shippers. There's a mixture of saiino fics as well as Yamanaka family fics (saiino with Inojin too) I have also included a line on what the fics are about. Please note I'm not really a fan of alternate universe fics so pretty much all of these fanfictions take place ‘in universe/canon’ Also note that these fics are my Saiino specific fave fics so I tried to avoid saiino fics that have focus on other couples too (I may make a separate fanfic rec for my favourite fics of the Naruto canon couples) All fics are from ff.net

Set in ink by TappityTap: A fic which is both cute and NSFW about Sai and Ino in the bedroom...

Living Proof by SnowLili: NSFW saiino fic with bits of team 7 bonding and Yamanaka fam as well.

Inojin’s babysitter is not available by AleXanDraPR369: Saiino/Yamanaka fam fic where Sai must look after Inojin after Ino is called to work at the hospital. Short but cute.

Clueless by Devektra: Story about the day Inojin was born. Cute, emotional and funny. Some Ino-Shika-Cho bonding too.

First word by Pixie07: OMG this fic.... I couldn’t stop laughing whilst reading it because it was so funny. Its a Yamanaka fam fic with some of the other Naruto dads making appearances too. One of the funniest saiino fics.

Flower fields by Eyescah: Saiino fic which takes place at the Yamanaka flower fields.

In noctem by Sine amore nihil est vita: My favourite Yamanaka family fic I have read so far. So cute and so many feels when reading it. Sai has been having nightmares and so has Inojin, its a must read for saiino fans.

Sai’s first date by swirl heart: A really funny fic where all the Konoha 12 try to help Sai prepare for his first date with Ino. It almost feels like an episode of Naruto SD with the way its written.

The language of faces by Empatheia: Such an amazingly written fic, so many feels and the way Sai and Ino bond makes it so worthwhile to read. A real feel good fanfic. Probably the crème de la crème of saiino fanfics.

Caroline by sugariest: Saiino AU fic which takes place at university. Probably the only AU saiino fic that I really like hence why its on this list.

The will of fire continues by GuiNeverWill: Fic that has all the canon couples but its written in chapters that focus on each couple/family. The saiino ones are great.

Moment by Phylaphy: This fic is just brilliant. There are just so many layers to it I cant recommend this highly enough. Its a must read.

This is very similar to me. I also never cared about shipping in Naruto until after the manga ended but for me it was reading light novels that made me become a shipper.

Where do I start…

This gonna be the long post I warn you.

       I started watching Naruto when I was in 6th grade, it was 11 years ago… that time I didn’t really ship anyone at all. I genuinely care about every character the same and invested in the whole story. It really made me feel hyped and inspired me on the whole new level. I just know that I wanted to be a ninja as well and created my OC( thats when I started to draw seriously everyday). My fav characters were Rock Lee and Neji. And after a while Gaara become my freaking bias ( I love him until now xD) 

  I just started using tumblr like a year ago. So I was never been in the ship wars but only been argued with my sister about who should better be with Naruto. ( hinata or sakura) xD

(I found Sakura/Ino to Sasuke as one sided childish love. Ino and Shikamaru as just teammates and friends if u want to ask me about ships)

As a pro Saiino fan as I am now…I am ashamed to admit that I wasnt really into that pair at all. Even after Naruto manga has ended. I just know that the writer just gave everyone the pair for the sake of “happy ending”. Shikatema , naruhina is kind of predictable. Saiino…Sai and Ino just that doesn’t make any sense to me at all. It was just “meh” (That time I was just feeling glad that he didnt force gaara to end up with someone)

AND my reaction to next generation. I was freaking distracted by Boruto’s and Himawari’s Pumpkin stalk hair. I still feel bothered by WHAT IS IT. AND Inojin….he…just looks like an Alien to me …Big Blue Eyes, Pale Skin and Orangey Yellow hair and wearing dark suit… I didnt really have any good impression towards the next gen at all…( Except from Mitsuki and Sarada I like their designs)

My interest in Naruto gets lesser and lesser each year.

So How did I freaking fell in love with Saiino.

IT was because of Naruto Shippuden’s last OP “Karano Kokoro”. THat song has freaking enchanted me and charmed me. I literally fell in love with the Song because of this moment when Sai is falling into deep darkness and with the juxtapose of sad looking Ino but with her calm face AND THE BG LYRICS is just “ TELL ME WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND”

I WAS LIKE WHATTT. ( THIS PART MAKE ALL THE SENSE THAT HAS BEEN FAILED TO BROUGHT UP just as how sai has been through and trained to be emotionless tool in ROOT and Ino being a Mind reading Ninja…. this chemistry just so…..) and I became so excited and told my friend that I Freaking love that songg. I lost track of Ino for a while alrdy and When I saw her Mature form again  Her expression just…erg… I was completely charmed….I JUST FELL LIKE THIS WHOLE SONG IS ABOUT SAIINO. I DUNNO I LOVE IT TOO MUCH. With that feeling… I keep listening to it… and… one day…. I suddenly drew Adult Ino….and before i knew it I can’t stop drawing her.Ino changed so much in Naruto the Last movie and Shikamaru Hidan….  during her genin she was mostly presented as…a mean girl or…flirtatious type of girl… nothing more. ( But NOW Thiss is what I love most about INO , HER EVOLUTION!!)

 HER LOVE, HER CONFIDENCE, HER- wait I am going off topic …will probably tell about ino in my next next comic xD

AND How did I start loving my Alien Child? I didnt watch naruto next gen at all… so I didnt really caught up with Inojin’s personality at first… I kept imagining him to be a soft flower boy with a cheery smile. And now I know that….He is a freaking snooty sarcastic brat and I love him.

Sai probably likes to talk a lot about art to Ino since she silently listens to all the big talk he gives. He will talk about his favourite artists, his dreams and inspirations. He might have been to different places as well ..so he would talk nonstop abt how each and every culture has mesmerized him. Ino loves listening to all his stories while getting amazed at him being able get all hype and excited over everything.

:3 So how about if I add RTN inojin?

Inojin feels uneasy seeing RTN Inojin

Inojin : “Can you please not get all serious over small things?”

RTN Inojin : “Can’t help it. I just really hate it when people say it as a "joke” when it is clearly an insult.“

errrr.... as long as you completely ignore the different skin tones, different eye shapes, different pupils, different pupil colours, different facial structures, different hair styles and different hair width then sure you have a point....

But there’s more. (Inojins earring is bright blue, shikadais earring is red/pink, and chochos earring is either silver or dull blue- matching kawakis in color). Interesting since not many shinobi wear earrings, especially that type. Has anyone else covered this before? The shikadai/inojin combo really looks like the color manga version of kawaki…. just saying.
