Mario huffed.
"Courage ain't the absence of fear. You did what you could. I'm proud of you, Bro."
red-hero-of-light replied to your post:Luigi, what was the scariest moment when you were in Evershade Valley?
"You know, Weege, you’re really brave."
"N-not really… I was still scared…"

Mario heard Luigi's nervous voice behind him, and the older Mario brother turned his head to glance at him, raising an eyebrow in confusion, stirred from his thoughts. Did he think he was angry?
"I was kidding, too, Weege. No worries."
Surely he knew that, right? Maybe he came off a bit too aggressive there. He relaxed his shoulders.
"You want me to getcha somethin' out of here since I'm here?"
“Big bro…?”
Luigi’s heart sank when Mario looked at him that way and just walked off. Had he said something wrong? Was Mario mad about something…?
Nervously Luigi followed his big brother. “H-hey, I was just kidding. I can make you something if you want.”

If it weren't for the fact that Mario was still so happy to see Luigi in such a good mood, especially after the last time they had seriously talked to each other, he probably would've sighed in exasperation and threw his hands up in the air and complained. As it was, all the older brother did was shoot his younger a dirty look.
"Seems like that's your excuse all the time lately..."
With or without Luigi, though, he was going to eat. He really was hungry, and as a result he ventured into the kitchen to raid the fridge. Mario wasn't the best at cooking but he could manage himself.
He still fussed over him mentally -- to be frank, it'd been bothering him ever since Dream's Deep, and perhaps further back than that. The worst thing was that Mario was quickly finding out that Luigi was so hesitant about telling him anything that he had to grasp at straws as to whether or not something was wrong with him. It could be disconcerting to say the least, but he wanted to encourage his brother to come up to him and tell him, so he tried his best to clear those troubled thoughts resurfacing at getting alone time with him again in favor of searching for... Well, he got milk at least. He did happen to be thirsty.
Kart racing was something Luigi really enjoyed. It was the one thing Luigi really got competitive in, more than any other sport they did. He preferred it much more over the Smash tourneys as well.
“Oh?” Luigi snickered, easily figuring out what Mario was hinting at. “Well I don’t know what to tell ya, bro. I’m just too tired to make anything right now.”
“So sorry~”

Mario was pleased to see Luigi so cheery. He'd worried a bit about him -- of course, he always did, but he thought Luigi might not've had so much fun with those racing tournaments as he did. Luigi could have a competitive streak, but Mario was aware enough that there were certain activities that he enjoyed more than his little brother did.
He snorted at the remark about Bowser. "Nah." He waved a hand. "I can take a beating, Weege. You know me." He lightly patted his little brother's back. "I'm kinda tuckered out, though. And hungry." He raised an eyebrow, clearly making a suggestion there.
red-hero-of-light replied to your post:"Hey, Weege? You doin’ okay?"
That shouldn’t have taken Mario by surprise, but it does. He doesn’t hesitate in embracing his younger brother back, though, and he chuckles, patting him on the back. “I missed you, too, li’l bro. How’s it goin’?”
"Haha it’s great!" Seeing his brother just casually after all the racing lately was nice. When was the last time they actually sat down and just talked?
"What about you? Bowser didn’t hit you too hard with that Blue Shell, did he?"

"Actually, if you were sick, I wouldn't care. I'd rather you weren't around at all."
"Now, now! Am I not allowed to take joy in my enemy’s pain? Surely, if I were sick, you would be overtaken with joy!"

That earned Dimentio a glare.
"And what do you mean by that?"
"Ugh… Don’t feel so hot."

"No of the businesses that is yours, Red man of moustache. Fawful is having his reasons."
"Oh, silly me for questioning it.
"I just thought, y'know... Maybe you were trying to hint at something there with that? But perhaps not.
"I mean, o' course, if it happened that you were... You would know the consequences of that, right?"

Why do you keep Luigi at home?
"... That's not any of your business!"
Mario said that in such a cheery voice.
In any case, it doesn't seem like outright asking him that would get you anywhere.

How did it feel having to fight peach AND luigi?
"Ah..."
"... You just do what ya have to do, I guess."
Mario's way of saying 'I don't really want to talk about it'.

"Ah--?"
Wow, Mario hadn't been expecting to see the princess out in broad daylight. He thought for sure Toadsworth would keep her behind closed doors more than ever now to keep Bowser from sticking his nose in. (It didn't really work so well, of course.) Now that the princess was here, though, he couldn't help but give her a broad smile.
"I've been okie-doke. How 'bout you, Princess? Toadsworth isn't hoverin' over you too much, is he?"
red-hero-of-light started following you
Wait, hadn’t the monarch seen Mario earlier? Maybe she had, or maybe she had stayed out in the heat for too long! Either way, Peach didn’t mind. She was always happy to see the plumber. “Hello, Mario! How have you been?”
