I made her when I was in 1st grade and she was made for my sonic comics. She's a pretty and popular girl who can transform into Mew Mint from Tokyo Mew Mew. Another drawing I did for my gender, race, and class course for college. For this assignment I wanted to challenge the idea of mixed-race relationships with an emphasis on queer relationships. While doing research on this topic I found that most mixed-race relationships represented in popular media involve at least one white individual. I want everyone to know that this isn’t the only way to show a mixed-race relationship! Also as a side note, it was lesbian visibility day on April 26th and I figured this could help contribute to the cause :)

I chose to tackle the idea that popular feminism (otherwise known as white feminism) does not empower all women in a society but only focuses on white women rather than women of color and the specific issues they face in their gender and racial identity.
