Nightmares

Despite how happy she seems, Rin is plagued by nightmares from her childhood. The worst one that has plagued her isn’t the where she relives her first death...but where she watches her family die and there is nothing she can do to save them.  She usually wakes up in uncontrollable tears.

“Then we just have to find one that isn’t mean, i’m sure there has to be at least one demon woman like that out somewhere near by!” She exclaimed, obviously exasperated at the seemingly impossible task that she and her sister had taken on.  Sure they didn’t have the best track record with demons but....there were also several nice demons that the twins had met as well. There had to be one. “Maybe someone like Lady Kagura? Do you think all Demons of the Wind act like her?”

Operation find Lord Sesshomaru a Girlfriend, Go!

The first woman that matched that description was Kagura…but Kagura wasn’t around anymore. “Well I know different women with each of those characteristics…the problem is do we know any demons like that?” Rin pursed her lips together, her mind was drawing a giant blank. “We don’t exactly have the greatest history with most demons,” she pointed out with a frown. With the exception of Lord Sesshomaru, most demons weren’t so nice to them. Befriending one might not be as easy as it was the first time around.

The child beamed up at her. “Rin, my name is Rin. Thank you for being so nice Miss. Kiúnin, even though I am invading your territory. I’m sure I won’t be here to much longer.” Rin was just glad they weren’t wolf demons, that would have been bad. She honestly didn’t know what she would have done if Kiúnin had been a wolf demon.

Rin had of course been right, demons were no where near as scary as humans. If she had been in a humans territory they woud have tired to shoo her away.

Her lip quirked at the child’s answer, but she decided to let the matter go for the time being. After all, the girl was in no danger at the moment. However, when the child bowed to her, she grinned, chuckling as she returned the gesture.

“My name is Kiúnin Nochishiki. Pleased to make your acquaintance, little one. Might I inquire your name as well?”

Rin couldn’t help but laugh at that. “Well you would protect me if something happened that could get me killed, so I don’t have to worry.” she told, and she honestly believed her words. She thought that she would never be in danger because he would come and protect her. So she could search without any kind of worry.

“You are too precious.” He reached out and placed a hand affectionately on her head. “Just be careful. I wouldn’t want you getting killed trying to find me the perfect woman.”

Rin felt a chill of fear run over her when she was told that this was a home for owl youkai, but it vanished when the female told he that she would still remain safe. So she decided to answer the question that the stranger had presented.

“He does that sometimes, he has very important things that he does. But he always comes back for me.” she explained. “Usually Master Jaken and Ah-Un stay with me but they left too.” Rin wasn’t mad or lonely or anything of the sort, she knew that there were things she couldn’t do and things that Lord Sesshomaru and master Jaken wanted to protect her from so she didn’t argue.

“So thank you Miss! I’m sure Lord Sesshomaru would thank you as well.” she said, giving her best bow. She had been practicing so that the next time she met Sesshomaru’s mother, she could bow and thank her properly. “Oh! I forgot to ask your name!”

Her brows furrowed as the girl responded. So, she had company; and they had set up a camp nearby. “And this Lord Sesshomaru” – Why did that name sound so familiar to her? – “simply… left you? With no protection, or even an inclination as to when he would return?” He certainly didn’t sound like much of a decent care-taker.

Shaking her head,her shoulders raised with a sigh before she smiled, “Well, either way, you’re in luck. This forest is my home. A clan of owl youkai live here with me, but they won’t bring you any trouble; you are safe here, so feel free to play here for as long as it suits you.” She nodded, seeing no harm in the girl sticking around, so long as someone would come back for her eventually.

“I’ll be making a couple of patrol rounds throughout the day, to ensure that all continues to be safe, so if you hear anything during the evening, it’s probably only me. The owls keep to themselves, mostly, so you likely won’t run into any of them.”

Also i’m sure she has to be a Demon, like him.” the younger said, her brain wracked with thoughts about the current situation. “Oh! Maybe he would like someone who is really honest and can take care of themselves in a battle?” it was genius, at least to Rei it was. “We just need to find a strong, brave, kind, and honest demon woman, then we need to make friends with her...and then make them spend time together!”

Lord Sesshomaru was so aloof and with his previous history with women, he was terrible with them. “The best of the best,” she repeated, her head overfilling with potential dates. “I have no idea Rei!” she hung her head in defeat. “It’s hard enough thinking of a woman that Lord Sesshomaru will even talk to, let alone go on a date with!”
