Behold, the sugarplum pullover using langyarnā€™s orion in blue/green.
I need to buy one more skein and then Iā€™ll be able to finish it. Iā€™ll post the result too.

There's no "no", maybe because I ran out of space, and/or maybe that isn't an option. šŸ˜Œ

Iā€™m so pleased with this blanket I want to share it with the world. It is a knit sampler pattern from a pattern book originally bought by my great grandmother in 1968! Hippo thinks itā€™s pretty neat too.

One of my favorite things we saw during our trip to Iceland was the NjĆ”lurefilinnĀ (Njalā€™s saga tapestry) project at the Icelandic Saga Centre in Hvolsvƶllur, Iceland. Started in 2013 by two local women, Gunnhildur Edda KristjĆ”nsdĆ³ttir and Christina M. Bengtsson, the project invites the public (and tourists) to sew sections of a 90m tapestry that depicts Njalā€™s saga. The tapestry was designed by KristĆn Ragna GunnarsdĆ³ttirĀ and uses the ancient Bayeux stitch with Icelandic yarn dyed with natural materials using traditional techniques. The project is expected to take 6-10 years!

I think one of the best things I've learned since getting into fiber arts is that something can be absolutely not my taste and I can still be impressed and delighted for the person who made it and people who love it. Almost every time I look through patterns or projects, I have a thought like, "I hate that and it's magnificent" or, "I wouldn't wear that, but HOLY CRAP it's amazing that you made it."
We need more of that.

Get yourself a fabric store that will light your fabric on fire for you
No but legit I asked what the fiber content of something was and the guy didnā€™t know so he cut a chunk off and lit it on fire and felt the ashes and was like. Yeah this is mostly cotton with a lil bit of silk. And that was the moment I knew. This is it. This is the fabric store for me. Also that guy is marriage material. Not for me but damn some person is gonna be so happy with him.

Here's a bookmark I made recently. The thread I used for this I got from my grandmother, it's really old and I'm kinda surprised how well it held up with my vigorous tensioning.
This pattern also used the most bobbins I've worked with so far, 22 pairs! The pattern is called Linnunruoho, which is a type of plant (milkwort in English I think). Literally translated the name means "bird's grass", which i think is really cute šŸ¦ā€ā¬›

Its janky looking but just having finished it is an achievement
This is the last pattern in my bobbin lace kit
I've got some more books, some with patterns, and I think I'll go through all the beginner parts a couple of times
Maybe then I can have another go at this one and it'll come out better
