“Oh, the Sheriff is putting in his two weeks? Doesn’t look good for this town.” Jason couldn’t hide the tone of satisfaction in his voice. Once the law started giving up the MC had a better chance than ever before at fully taking this town.
Tumblr media
“I’m putting my two weeks in,” Henry muttered, standing outside the front of the Howling Room, smoking a cigarette, hoping his sister didn’t pass by to scold him for the habit. “I suck at this job.” He was tired of death and he was tired of bars and even more, he was tired of the two happening together. Was it too much to ask for people to be murdered with some variety?

“I understand that. But meeting somewhere other than my office is much better for all parties involved. It’s not like people are going to think you’re here to make a request for the potholes on the streets to be fixed. You all can just drive around them.” Lowering himself into his seat, Teddy put his feet up on his desk and studied Jason carefully. The Rebels weren’t top dog in town. And unlike the Vixens who were adequately okay with their standing, the club seemed to be trying to get to the top. A move like this, definitely wouldn’t be helping their case. Shrugging his shoulders, Teddy didn’t let the words of the president in front of him get to him. “Let them come for my job. It’s not all shaking hands and kissing babies. You have to know the way of the political world. And unfortunately, unless Johnson himself took college courses he doesn’t. Nothing would get done. There are no contacts to be had. And most don’t want to do business with lowlife criminals. You lot just got lucky. So let him come for my job. See what kind of town you have in a year. If there will even be a town.”
Tumblr media
“Or just for you, I’ll speak for my party,” Jason said looking away then smiling back at Teddy. “Must look pretty bad for you having me here. Is that what you tell all the concerned citizens in this town? I’m busy figure it out.” He wanted more power for the Rebels, he wanted to see them take this town, to show the main chapter what he was capable of. “Two murders in the last month sounds like anyone might be able to run this town better than you.” He laughed again.

Teddy stared at the reports in front of him trying to figure out it the Cooper woman had really been able to solve the financial crisis of the kids playground. All they needed was a gala. Really? Just one measly fundraiser and bam! He’d finally have the parents of Jericho out of his hair. Hearing the knock on the door, the man looked up almost relieved thinking that it was his assistant bringing lunch, but couldn’t help let his disappointment show when he realized that it was Jason. Rushing to shut the door behind the man, Teddy looked at him tensely. Ever since the announcement at the party, Teddy had been more and more unsure about his position amongst the people who had bought his election. Returning to his desk, Teddy fixed his suit coat before looking at him tensely. “You should have called and arranged something with me personally before just walking in. What do you need Jason?”
Tumblr media
“Call the mayor’s office and scheduled something? So that suit isn’t just for show? You know you’re dealing with bikers, we don’t make a habit of calling ahead.” Jason laughed gruffly at the end of his words. The announcement at the club had shaken the whole town. Jason was not immune though he acted coy about it. Teddy shut the door behind them clearly concerned about who might see them talking. The President made himself comfortable in a chair in front of the Mayor’s desk. “So Mr.Mayor what do you make of the newest alliance. I think if you’re not careful they’ll be a club member in your seat pretty soon.” Shaking his head Jason leaned back. “Might be shit but I think they’re trying to take everything.”

Snickering, the snort broke free from under her breath. Oh, to be a Rebel in this day and age, what a time to be alive, she thought, beaming happily to her President. “Still, tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber will have something up their sleeves—we shouldn’t jump the gun.” Valentina feigned the serious expression, before breaking concentration once more. “I’m sorry, I can’t, this is Christmas.” Running off to the bar, swiping two bottles with one grip, the other reaching for the neck of the third, as she skipped back. “They might need this more than us, but oh well. And look!” She held up the champagne bottle. “Let’s go to the clubhouse and celebrate to the happy couple. And then let’s destroy them.”
Tumblr media
Valentina was crazy Jason couldn’t help but like that about her. She’d live and die for the Rebels something Jason might not even do himself. “No jumping the gun, we’ll have something good.” He said a sly smile spreading across his lips. Rising his eyebrows at the bottle. “The fancy stuff, I like your style. Nothing too high brow for our lovebirds.” He watched as she grabbed the booze and placed an arm on her back and started quickly towards the door.

“I think Brenek’s got him—by the balls, that is. Johnson’s going to be his new bitch boy, we could walk in and destroy them all with a single hit.” She responded in her own hushed tone, hues never peeling form the sights, as the world seemed to stop, stall—and their little show put on, for who? The Rebels? The Vixens? The Brotherhood, and their new alliance? Finally turning to look at Jason, as she let out a laugh. “Oh, you don’t want to see the two lovebirds get it on, I think it’d be a show.” But she thrived on drama and chaos in another’s life. “Sure you don’t want to join in, Jason? I’m sure the three of you could make a handsome polyamorous couple. Be the hit of Jericho.” But that was a joke, as she smirked. “At least lets steal some booze before we go? It’s the least we can do now for the happy pairing.”
Tumblr media
“Johnson was made to take it from a Brother.” Jason was doing his best to not over think this move. It was probably some kind of stunt, but the reaction for his VP made it seem more authentic. They’d have to plan some kind of retaliation but for now, they had to pull back. Gather their people, find out what was really going on. “Steal as much booze as you think we need to celebrate this joyous occasion.” Jason scanned the room people were looking for his reaction. He had no intention of giving them the pleasure of seeing him sweat.

Jason watched Valentina with a smile. The new development should frustrate him but instead, he liked it in a strange way. Walking up he leaned down to whisper in Valentina’s ear. “I think we got to him.” Jason knew that their little stunt mostly likely played some part in this sudden change of events. He laughed with her as she called it a prank. Jason wasn’t sure it was exactly that but he looked down at his dear treasure. “Let's get out of here before they start fucking, eh? No need to pass a peace pipe with these assholes.”
Tumblr media
“No fucking way.” She announced, the shit-eating grin spread across her cheeks, as she threw her head back, letting out the laugh loudly. Fake-wiping a tear, as drummed fingertips against the bar top, watching the Presidents chat. “There’s no way that’s going to last, Brenek’s going to break every last one of their necks.” She didn’t believe it. There’d be a real threat to Jericho if it was… and Valentina was far too humoured by the idea. “This is too good of a prank.”

It wasn’t like Russ had a problem with authority figures. People assumed most bikers did, bit the hierarchy of clubs like theirs demanded respect given towards those types of figures. You didn’t have to like them or be best friends with them, you just had to be like hey– yeah, I guess I’ll listen to whatever bullshit you have to say. Jason wasn’t even a bad president, but he did have a lot of bullshit spewing from his mouth.
No more than Julian. Less than Julian. Julian was bullshit master.
“You call this relaxing?” he asked, wishing he could shove the hand off his shoulder without… you know… telling him to fuck off. “This is just getting drunk. Relaxing is what we did at the last town’s event.” There was plenty of blue and white to go around today, but not enough red. Never enough red.
Tumblr media
Jason would be a fool to think that Russell was completely on their side. He was a Rebel that he’d proved, but a family was still family. Something went deeper than even these gangs. For that reason, he couldn’t know the plan, at least not right now.
“Good to know you enjoy your work,” Jason said with a gruff laugh letting his hand drop for Russell's shoulder. “You can’t spend all your time pissing people off. You gotta give something a chance to piss you off.” Jason spoke with a smile. “That volley is really important.”

There was a relative peace in the crowd but Jason knew it wasn’t going to last. He saw Russell standing at the bar and there was part of him that felt guilty. If it were his sister, he thought for a moment, but there was no mercy in the life they lead. People like Russ’s sister ended up ammunition for the people who cared for them.  He placed a hand on his shoulder stepping up to the bar beside him.
“Happy Fourth of July.” He said leaning down onto the bar with a false smile on his face. Russell had proved his loyalty and Jason considered him a real Rebel.
“Nice to see you relaxing, this time around.” Russell was like the Rebel’s secret weapon. A nothing hurt the wolves more than family.

There were three sure-fire places Valentina would’ve been found. Surrounded by her fellow Rebels within the walls of the Clubhouse, the Diner bored out of her mind, of many of the bars within town. Now, as Jason approached, she smirked happily. “Buying me drinks, you must be in a giving mood.” She murmured. Shrugging her shoulders as she looked at the notion of another party, fireworks, the likes. “Not entirely—parties end up being a shit how, I’d love a night where I can get sloshed and not care… Personally, I rather celebrate Canada Day instead.” She lifted the beer bottle to her lips, taking a long swig. “Are you looking forward to the party?”
Tumblr media
“Canada day in Jericho, that’ll be the day.” Jason agreed with a soft laugh taking a sip of her his beer he sighed. “I am, got a job for you actually.” He said with a sly smile on his face looking on as Valentina. He knew she’d been waiting for a job and he trusted her implicitly. “Something that should piss Johnson off real good. Something a little more obvious.” He added with a smile.

Jason held two beers in his hand as he slipped onto the bar stool next to Val. It had been a good run for the Rebels but Jason had no intention to stop now. The guilt faded if you moved fast enough. He placed the beer in front of her his hands sticking to sides for a moment as he pulled away. There was a knowing smiling on his face. Jason had a job for her, one he knew Val was more than capable of, one that the wolves were sure to take personally.
“You ready for this party Valentina?” He started to speak casually, figuring the conversation would naturally flow to what he was thinking about. “Sounds like just the thing this town needs after the opening ended in such tragedy.”

“You lost kid?” He was sure he’d seen her around before but couldn’t place the face.  though he knew that she wasn’t one of his Rebels. It was late and Jason was tired but something in him couldn’t leave the bar without making sure she was alright. Jason wished he could be like the other presidents, he wished that he could forget everything he’d done. Yet for some reason, he continued to try and be a good person.
“You’re a wolf aren’t you?” He put his hands in his pockets and shifted uncomfortably. He looked from side to side before speaking again. “You should be careful around here.”

Seran, was an intimidating man but Jason didn’t let it show on his face. Around Seran and Julian, it was always clear to Jason that he couldn’t do this for life. Though that was just another thought that he kept buried under a cool demeanor.  With a nod of his head, he acknowledged the other president. They had a lot to talk about now.
“How you holding up old man?” He asked knowing the answer would be harsh. His ex-wife had been stabbed. Jason imagined anyone would be looking for blood to repay what had happened.

The town was relatively quiet and the Rebels were scattered around Jericho leaving their president alone for the time being. They had made their move the other night and Jason knew the next thing to be done was to secure their place in this town. He needed an in, a police officer, or public official. Someone with sway in the right places to look out for the rebels. There was a short list of qualified candidates for the job, the first being the Theodore.
Jason threw his cigarette to the ground as he entered town hall. He didn’t wait to ask he made his way to the office door labeled with the Mayor’s name. He knocked twice before announcing himself.
“Hey,  you got a minute.”

Brady leaned back in his chair and stifled a yawn. Technically, technically he had a charger for Jason. But he’d seen someone eyeing his spot and it was a prime location. In short, fuck moving. “Shit, never mind, you’re not invited to a barbeque, sourpuss.”
Tumblr media
“I’m not invited to my own clubs barbeque?” Jason scoffed his mood lightening a bit as he spoke with the other rebel. It was good to be among his people while the town around them seemed to be falling apart. “seems fair.”

sclene-fortier:
Selene did her best to compose herself and show every ounce of civility she had left. The fact that Jason Cross had the balls to approach her had the Enforcer all fired up. “Not by you.” she hissed out through gritted teeth.
Looking at the bottle, Selene paused as her expression faltered into a blank stare. This could go one of two ways, she could take the beer bottle and smash it against his head hard. Or she could decline the offer.
Of course, she stuck with the latter. “You can shove those condolences up your ass.”
Tumblr media
He shouldn’t have expected her to take the drink. Jason sighed looking over his shoulder wishing he hadn’t started this. If the Vixen’s had burned their clubhouse Selene certainly didn’t wear any guilt on her face. Part of Jason wished he had that still.
“That’s fair,” Jason said shrugging his shoulders and taking his beer back.

wolvespresident:
Julian’s jaw tightened, but he wouldn’t dare say a thing. Russell had made his bed, had he not? He’d walked away from them, called it quits. “He’ll know family is forever and realize yours is nothing but words. He can have his fun now.” And Julian meant—though partially believed—in those words, as he too leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. “Four dead is a gift, call it that and move on. You take out the wrong people could end up wiping all of you out.” Though that never laid to his brother, even if Julian wanted to lay into him half the time. “So… that’s what this is all about? Retaliation? I almost thought better of you. Who’s next on the docket, the Brotherhood?” Dare he come for the Wolves, Julian thought. He’d beat the Rebels down the same way the Wolves brought them up, without a doubt.
Tumblr media
He could see Julian starting to get tenser as they spoke. Jason matched the other president's demeanor.  At one point they had been allies but things were shifting so much in this town now that there was no knowing where anyone stood anymore. “A gift?” Jason laughed at that and sat up a little straighter in his chair.  “Is that how the wolves gained this territory? By letting their people die with no repercussions?” He smiled and shook his head now. The more he spoke the more Jason wanted to push Julian off his throne. It was times like this that he forgot the guilt of the blood on his hands and even pondered more. “Don’t ever think better of me Johnson,” He said sourly now. “Brotherhood is a natural choice.” He said a cool composure in his eyes.

“Not at the rate we’re going. Feel free to let a lonely Treasurer in on any secrets if you’ve got them.” She offered, though knowing her stance, it was understandable if she was not. Truthfully, Valentina just enjoyed the chaos—more when she was a part of the cause, though the warehouse incident was one of the few she was not impressed. “Neither would I—It’s nice to know there’s one Johnson with balls, right?” Russ deserved all the praise, even someone as cold as herself would know that. “Didn’t we already do that?” But her sly smile broke, before drumming her fingers. “We could always go for the sisters next, but I’m not entirely sure how well Russ would take to that idea… or their enforcer… Someone important to Julian Johnson?” She bit her tongue. “I wonder if Russ likes his sisters enough that we could just off them?” She muttered, though loud enough for Jason to hear.
Tumblr media
“You always know the secrets Val, you’ve more than proven yourself.”  Looking her in the eyes as he spoke so she was aware of how serious he was. She had been a dedicated member and he appreciated all of her time. “I’m not sure balls are that family’s problem, more like a sense of entitlement.” Jason shook his head a bit as he spoke. “Yeah, one isn’t enough for me. The older sister, she isn’t a patch is she?” He asked Val hoping she’d know for sure. Turning two Johnsons into Rebel’s might break the old president. “Ah, we can do better than killing them I think. Make the pain last a little longer you know?”
