GHD HAIR
GHD HAIR
GHD – Good Hair Day, is a manufacturer of hair care products based in Leeds, United Kingdom. GHD leads the market for hair straightening irons and is sold in over 50,000 salons worldwide. It was founded in January 2001 by three hairdressers called Robert Powls, Martin Penny and Gary Douglas. They brought the straightening iron from Korea to the UK. It rapidly became the must have styling tool. Sold through salons, fan base quickly develops through the recommendation of stylists. GHD then went international, entering Australia, South Africa, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Germany and France. Then ghdhair.com was launched bringing the brand online. GHD then launched new categories. Hairdryers in 2012 with GHD air, followed by curling in 2014 with GHD curve. GHD is so popular and is known as one of the best brands for hair products and tools because the quality is undoubtable when using a GHD hair straightener. Not only does using one result in long lasting straightened hair until the next wash, owners of GHD products can get up to several years out of their product until it gets old, and it is time to update with a new straightener. Consistent use of any heat based appliance will gradually damage your hair over time. However, GHD are definitely one of the better hair straighteners for protecting your hair. GHD were one of the first hair straightener brands to hit the market over a decade ago. They are still to this day one of the most popular and trusted brands out there today, although they now have a lot more competition from other companies they have come a long way since their original GHD irons were released. They have added numerous more straighteners and other tools to their collection to cater for all different types of hair straighteners. Since 2004, GHD has raised approximately £2.5 million for the breakthrough breast cancer charity. The company produces a limited edition pink hair iron every year, with £10 of the sale price being donated in support of the charity. In 2010 GHD partnered with a charity called “Mom It Forward" and Safe House Denver, a women’s shelter that serves victims of domestic violence and their children, in an event at Sephora. The brand has attracted endorsements from celebrities, with Victoria Beckham, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry and Jennifer Aniston being prominent users of GHD products.
