So instead of doing actual set English work on the Great Gatsby I’ve been reading gay fanfiction about it instead

The Great Natsby Gatsby is probably one of the saddest and most romantic love stories I’ve known (and I’m not usually one for romance stories)
Ransacking through some of my Natsby screencaps…
This couple…Can you believe it?!!…their love is just so true and unreal! The phrase “Ad Finem Fidelis” really resonates with them. I just can’t believe there’s still people who overlook that this is the real love story all along. Because it is 100% canon.

nick about gatsby: there was something gorgeous about him, he had an extraordinary gift for hope, a romantic readiness, he dispensed starlight to casual moths

What I love most about this interaction is that it shows how vastly different Beca, Chloe, and a reformed Aubrey are as leaders. Chloe is all about passion and immediacy, Beca is kind of insecure, and Aubrey is a mediator between them. I also like that it shows that Beca can get snippy and maybe so can Chloe, but the way that Chloe immediately crosses to Beca’s side just makes me feel all kinds of things. They’re soft. Aubrey just needs them to get along, she’s tired of hearing about all the Bechloe drama from everybody.

i rly dont like the mindset that all lgbt people want is to be “accepted” and that all out community is about it “inclusion”. no. we want access to trans health care. we want anti discrimination laws for housing and employment. we want marriage equality. we want to stop trans kids from being forced to go by their dead name at school. we want to abolish the gay/trans panic defense. we want to stop corrective rape. we want black trans women to stop being murdered. being “accepted” by cishets isnt the goal, and neither is being an all-inclusive club. i want to be able to live my life freely as an lgbt person. our community was created out of the need to survive. that has nothing to do with being “valid”.
