Alex couldn’t help but laugh, shaking his head “Well, I was a pretty ugly baby in all honesty. Fat head, just generally fat.” Just the idea of him back at that age was amusing, one that he wasn’t even all that sure he waned to think about. The worst times were when he was younger. Even more so than the dead walking around. “she does, and I’m glad she has it.”

The cup he once held had now rested back down on the table. Alex was running the thoughts through his head. Refusing to make eye contact was probably the best way to go for him. It wouldn’t get awkward that way

“Do you?” He REALLY didn’t. They were completely different people. What Alex did, it was far more stressful. Something he wasn’t willing to admit. Yes, what Paul did was hard -- but he didn’t have to deal with half of the things he did. Hell, when he did. They were always brought back to Carson “Same could be said for you, Paul. Hiding stuff isn’t exactly the best.”

“It’s not even a date. I know I said I DIDN’T want to fuck things up with him, but --” It wasn’t really what he wanted. There was many more things going on. To Alex? Wes just felt like a distraction -- and it wasn’t exciting anymore. He’d be fine being by himself. ( That was a lie. )

“You should. He’s not too bad, when you get past the bad jokes and terrible haircut.” A small laugh, and his eyes slipped closed. Right. Maggie. He had to get back in her direction anyway. So, a walk with his friend wouldn’t hurt. Alex nodded, pushing himself up from the seat and giving a stretch

“I have to get back anyway. Hershel’s heartbeat’s a bit erratic.”

Jesus let out a small, breathy chuckle, “Okay, but to be fair, aren’t most babies pretty cute?” He’d never seen one that was just born before though so he figured maybe they were hideous at first and then grew into their cuteness that  babies were always so known for. “I’m very thankful that he’s alright, though, Maggie truly deserves that much to go in her favor.”

Paul would up sitting next to him, rather than opt to leave right away. Regardless to the  almost relationship the pair might have had, he still missed Alex. He just didn’t really know how to voice that. If he said it, he thought that would be far too much. Too weird for him.

“I know.” Paul replied quickly. He then tried to think of a better way to say what he wanted to get across. This was PROBABLY why he didn’t ever tell people how he felt when it came to feelings and relationships. It was  different nowadays, with so much going on. “You’re just allowed to feel things. I know that I’m not the best person to talk to, though.”

Paul listened to the rest of what he said, even offered a polite smile and a curt nod at his suggestion that was made mostly to himself. “Tempting, I’d love to try your first attempt at scrambled eggs, but I don’t really want to crash your date. I’m not THAT lonely.” He winked.

“I think I have a little time before I have to leave again, so I’ll try to catch up with him soon.” He said as though that were a promise. Paul gently patted Alex’s leg before he stood back up with the realization that he’d probably better end the conversation before things became too heavy. He failed at that, even then added,

“Do you want to walk with me to see Maggie?”
