At this Harth chuckled and put a feathered hand to his head and swept his bangs to the side. "Art teacher, you say? Well, why am I not surprised? Rito Village was never short any artists so he fit in quite well with the others. I'm sure he teaches things like music? Perhaps even a bit of theater?"
Harth glanced over to where Emil had gone and let out a sigh. "He said he's travelled his entire life due to his older master forcing him to acquire magical objects for him. Emil always said that being away was his one safety in life, so I guess it really shouldn't shock me that he wound up leaving the village."
He glanced back over at Kayla. "He and Revali were close. I'm sure he's told you about him? Our hero from over a hundred years ago who fought against Calamity Ganon but was lost to him. Somehow, Revali was able to return, even if briefly, to help save Emil from his master. To see our Champion again brought us all intense pride but for Emil it was more than that."
Harth began to pace around, drawing looks as he moved. "I wish I could have given him Revali's blanket, but Tulin, Teba's kid, idolized Revali and so it was agreed that he would inherit the blanket when Revali returned to the afterlife. It just… surprises me… that Emil would find happiness in the blanket that I gave him. Emil really does appreciate the little things, but I'm sure you knew that."
"Yeah...he's told me so much about his home and Revail. They sound so happy. Qnd I am too but if he's happy, that makes me relieved." Kayla smiled as she looked at Emil's direction

"I, I think I should go put this stuff in my room," said Emil suddenly, pulling the box against his chest as he moved away from Harth. Why did it still hurt so much thinking about the loss of Revali?
Harth looked from Kayla to Emil and nodded. "Do you need any help?"
"I'll be just a moment," replied Emil in a soft whisper. "You, you're not going to leave so soon, are you?"
Harth shook his head. "It took some strength to get here and I need a little rest. However, it is starting to get dark and I did make preparations for Molli to stay with Teba and Saki overnight."
Emil drew in a breath, suddenly happy at the idea of a friend staying there with him. He looked to Kayla, gave a gentle smile, then excused himself.
Harth looked to Kayla and arched a brow. "So… mutations then? I'm surprised that of all the places for Emil to go that he'd end up here. Er, that's not to say anything bad about this place it's just, Emil is a musician. I'd thought he'd end up on stage, even as a human. But you say he's a teacher?"
"Yeah. He's an art teacher. I'm sure I can convince my brother to let Emil perform on stage if he wants to. He told me his passion is music. And I'm surprised that he's here too but he's getting comfortable and more open and I'm happy for that." Kayla explained

Somehow it just didn't seem possible that things were going all right with Emil and this school. Harth ran his feather-fingers gently along Emil's back, trying to soothe him in what he already knew were silent tears. With everything that Emil had gone through in less than a year it was a surprise to Harth that Emil could just leave like that, but at the same time, he could also understand it.
"I prefer my Rito form," said Emil softly. "I was forced from it for so long and being human almost feels unnatural at this point. Everyone in the village made me feel so welcome as I was. Here, it's a little different."
"Because they see it as a mutation?" Harth looked to Kayla, trying to decide whether or not this was a good idea. "This is not a mutation though. We evolved from the Zora to have wings and to fly!"
Emil nudged Harth's shoulder with his head and closed his eyes. "They all have wonderful abilities though. It's incredible to see… even if they are using them to play pranks on one another or on me." Harth chuckled softly. "Kids are kids no matter the species."
He glanced over at Kayla, still getting a strong sense that the truth wasn't being told entirely here. Otherwise, why was Emil still hugging him?
Kayla smiled as her bear ears twitched "that is true but they really like Emil as their teacher. And he's doing very well. He came here as a human and stayed in that form for a week. I'm glad he feels more open to be his real self. And to be honest this is the first time I've ever seen or met a rito." Kay said honestly "you guys are incredible. "

Harth smiled at Kayla and dipped his head in greeting. "A pleasure. I came by to drop off a little care package for Emil."
He turned to the bench and picked up a medium-sized box that had the distinct smell of baked goods, which immediately caused Emil to hold off a sob. Seeing Harth helped take the pain out of his homesickness and he was so grateful to have another like him there, even if only for a short while.
"Amali and the kids wanted you to have something nice to eat that would remind you of home," said Harth softly. "There's enough to share with your friends too."
"Thank you," said Emil and he looked at Kayla, his eyes shining a little brighter. "Rito snacks really are the best."
Harth pulled up a blanket that had the beautiful craftsmanship of the Rito and their design on it. He watched as Emil ran his feathers over it before bringing the blanket against his chest. He suddenly hugged Harth again, who had to put the box down to fully receive it. Harth looked to Kayla in worry.
"Things have been going okay here, right?"
"Yes of course. Him and I were just flying not that long ago. And he's been doing great in his classes. He's a really good teacher. He was telling me a lot of good things about his home." Kayla explained "and I'm helping him be comfortable here as much as possible and for him to be himself and not be in human form when he doesn't want to. After all. This school is for people mutants and excetra to be their true selves." She added with a smile

"I'd like that," Emil said softly as he landed. Already he could see some of the students staring at him and for a moment Emil considered turning human again, if anything, just to fit in.
He gave his head a shake and said softly, "But if I were to turn human, I'd betray the very thing this school is trying to teach." Emil sighed again. "Which is to appreciate and accept yourself for how you are. Truly."
As they went into the school, Emil saw why the students had been looking at him. Just inside the entrance was a friend that Emil immediately recognized. After all, he was the only other Rito there and with his striking black feathers with hair that fell over to one side of his face there was no mistaking who was here. Emil's face broke into a wide grin.
"Harth!" Emil rushed over to him and without thinking he hugged him tight. Emil looked back to Kayla and gestured her to come over. "Kayla, this is Harth! He's one of my friends from back home!"
Kayla ran up to them and curtseted "its lovely to meet you. I'm Kayla Xavier, sister of the headmaster, Charles xavier."

Emil found the pendant in his bag and regarded it for a moment before putting on the scarf instead. He sighed as he put the pendant back into the bag and rose to his feet. "No, I've been hiding as a human for too long. if people are going to accept me for who I am, then they need to see the real me."
After putting the bag around his neck, Emil leapt into the air and gave his wings a strong pump to get himself aloft. He stayed close though and said, "Just keep talking to me as we go back. I can see the lights but it's easier to also just follow your voice."
He did not at all think that having someone go into his mind to make contact with someone else, who would not be anticipating it nor likely welcoming of it, would be such a good idea. There had to be other ways to stay in contact with his village. The loneliness was creeping up again.
"How could I spend most of my life as a human but now that I've been only a Rito for the last few months that I find myself so foreign if I am not a Rito."
"If it will make you feel better we can fly around and stuff whenever you're on your break." Kayla offered as she helped Emil back to rhe school

Ever so slightly Emil nodded his head. "They were saying that in the village too. With my grief still hurting as much as it was, that it was good for me to get out, stretch out my wings and remember life. After all, most of my life has been spent in the forced servitude of a cruel man and then I was free, and I spent those months just being with my own kind. I haven't been able to experience my freedom beyond that though. So maybe I'm just…" He let out a soft breath, "…scared."
The smile came back to Emil. "I did make a promise to your brother about coming on as a teacher for a few months and I don't want to back down on it. He knows my loss and knows that it still hurts. I just wish that I hadn't left my compact mirror back in the village because maybe if I had a way to still remain in contact with them I would be happier."
Slowly Emil rose to his feet and finally acknowledged the setting sun. "My eyesight even as a human is no match against the dark but it's worse as a Rito. We should probably head back now. Um, there aren't any skeleton type monsters that want to attack us… is there?"
"Nope. It's the suburbs of New York. We're ok. If yoy want you can put the pendant on and lead you back onto.rhe mansion. And about the

Emil was nearly blinded by his tears as he flew desperately towards where he had left his bag. He found it exactly where he had left it. No harm had come to it during their flight and as Emil sank into the grass, he pulled up the soft white scarf with the Rito crest on it and held it against his feathered chest.
"I'm missing home far more than I imagined I would," he said at last, looking at Kayla. "I used to want to travel a lot when I was little and in fact, I did get to travel quite frequently and swore that I wouldn't get attached to anyone. Then I finally met someone who could get me to open up, and now he's gone."
The sun was beginning to set now but Emil didn't even look at it. Birds were notorious for having poor eyesight at night but with how he was feeling, Emil just didn't care. He refused to part with the scarf and just sat there contemplating everything that was running through his head.
"I can't even understand what my heart is truly saying right now. Everything is so loud inside of my head trying to tell me to just go back home and another saying that I should stay here. I just don't know. I'm so homesick and yet, if I go home, I'll just be reminded that he's not there anymore."
"In my opinion emil, I think you should stay at the mansion for a while to clear your head. I know it's easier said than done but going to a place that has odd memories could mess with your mind more." Kayla explained "I can help you as much as I possibly can. I know you're not sure about help but I can be here for yoy. And so can my brother and everyone there."
