I’ve got a little brain exercise for anyone in the community who’s game?

I love hearing about other people’s Outlast OCs. Reagents, ex-pops, Prime Assets, doctors, it doesn’t matter, I eat that shit up. But I’m also a man of many AUs, and that got me wondering:

What would your Outlast OC be doing if they never got tangled up in Sinyala? Or if they never met the canon character you pair them with?

In my OC Cash’s story, if he had never met Coyle, he would never have made some of his worst choices, and he certainly wouldn't have ended up in Sinyala. But he’d still be a small-town cop. He’d still be dealing with the reality of being closeted in the 1950s. He’d still have a full story even without Coyle or Sinyala. Without Coyle, a whole different set of paths opens up. Would he buckle under heteronormative pressure? Would he still have his four kids? Would his wife Luanne have left him? While Coyle's corrupting presence may be gone, he'd still be facing life-altering challenges. There are a lot of things I'd just never considered because his story with Coyle feels so set in stone, and wandering down this path of "what ifs" has expanded my understanding of Cash as a character and his agency within his own narrative.

This whole line of thought actually started while I was chatting with @misa-bun about her OC Molly. We ended up having a great back-and-forth about where our characters might be without Coyle in their lives.

So now I want to know, who would your OC be if they had never fallen into Murkoff’s clutches?

Guess who got delivered today?

The delivery person put him in my outside bin, so I had to fish him out with my grabber. Why the fuck would someone put a parcel into a bin with cat litter in it? 🤢

Anyway he's fine, he arrived in pretty good shape considering the journey he's had. I imagine he'd have plenty to say about being shipped from China to Britain. But he's going to have more to say when he finds out he's going to be living next to my plushie of Grelle Sutcliffe 😁

I will say, there's a lot more overlap between Deltarune/Undertale fans and Outlast fans than I realised. I've been feeling guilty for immersing myself in Spamtenna art rather than focusing on my Coyle stuff... Only to see my beloved mutuals reblogging Deltarune ❤️

It's my 1 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳 thank you to the Outlast community for enjoying my Coyle observations and theories. Unfortunately I didn't plan anything because I had no idea this anniversary was coming up. But I'll see if I can't think of something

can you make a post on Prescott Whitehorn, please

I'm really sorry, but I just don't think we know enough about Prescott for me to dissect him the way I do with Coyle. I genuinely thought The Minotaur was going to be a revamped version of Whitehorn, because of the bull imagery. Personally, I would have gone with Chimaera imagery for the Kress twins rather than the Minotaur. But since they're from Buffalo, it still kind of works, I guess.

The fact that Whitehorn-branded products are still scattered throughout the trials makes me think we’re not supposed to forget about him entirely, which gives me a little hope that he might return.

I would’ve been really interested to see how Whitehorn would fit into Easterman's family dynamic. I hope they eventually bring him back, but at the same time... his personality overlapped a lot with Coyle, his backstory was pretty similar to the Kress twins, and Franco has a gun 🥲 He doesn't really have any identity of his own anymore, they stripped him for parts

Sorry, but is everyone in the Outlast community 14 years old or something? Why are we making such a big deal about a vulva? "Omg Arora's got her coochie out!!!" Literally so what? There's been dicks swinging around since Outlast 1 and in case you've never been killed by one of the female giants, they also have vulvas and pubic hair 😱 shock horror. Get a grip.

So in some of Dr Easterman's unused dialogue on the wiki, he mentions accidentally setting his family's summerhouse on fire, and his older sister being disfigured by it. Is that what Otto and Arora are supposed to represent in the family dynamic? Easterman's fucked up feelings towards his own sister? Or even about his brother Stanley... The man's carrying a lot of guilt and complicated feelings regarding his siblings, that's all I'm saying

Still not a proper post due to ill-health, but recently I saw someone trying to argue that Coyle's aviators have black frames, and I just wanted people to see these close-up shots that prove otherwise. The frames are definitely silver and gold, and the style of them isn't wholly inaccurate to the time period... even if they're missing a few key features

Apologies for the lack of content everyone, ya boi was in the hospital for 2 weeks, so I've not really felt up to dissecting Coyle.

I just got home today, a little bit panicked that I was going to miss out on the last few bits I needed to do to complete Prime Time 2. I loaded the game up, started Sabotage the Lockdown, and it bugged out. BUT! It bugged out in my favour, because Mother Gooseberry got stuck in the insertion gate, which allowed me to take my time collecting bricks and throwing them at her, which was the only thing I needed to get done to trigger the reward for the last poster, and that gave me enough tickets to buy the last catalogue outfit. So I got it all done! Hooray!

Shoutout to @misa-bun @decadentworld and @cannibalizedcadavers for helping keep me sane while I was in the hospital. Thank you for making me smile!
