#bookstagrammer • Hey friends! You may have forgotten me but I certainly have not forgotten you! I took a year off bookstagram to focus on my art business, and now that things are settling over there, I thought I’d make a slow come back here. I’ve missed bookstagram SO much! 🤓 If you want to know what I’ve been up to over the past year, you can check out my art account @seraseah to learn more! Meanwhile, here’s a look at what my current bedside table looks like! What book is currently sitting on your bedside table? 😍 https://www.instagram.com/p/CPkaIu-LBjW/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hi fellow book lovers. I apologize for the lack of posts recently. There’s been so much going on in the world right now I just needed some time to digest everything that’s happening. I’ve also started lettering again, and since I have the time now I thought I might as well brush up on my skills and hopefully be good enough to open my own handmade shop some day. If you’re interested in my artwork, you can follow on my journey here: @seraseah. Right now, I’m just focusing on getting better.

And on that note, I must say I haven’t read much lately. I started In Cold Blood but I couldn’t get into it. I felt there were too many unnecessary information being thrown in there and I got bored after reading just a few pages. I may be a little impatient to get to the good part but this drag has seriously put me in a slump. I’m probably going to put this book on hold and pick up another book to read. Maybe... A Room with a View?

News is depressing to read these days. I thought I might give up reading it and read more books instead. Also, this cover of Little Men is too cute. I can’t stop staring at it.

I’ve never read anything by Truman Capote before, and only bought Breakfast at Tiffany’s because I love the movie. I was curious about his work so I decided to get one of his famous books In Cold Blood, in which he reconstructs the 1959 murder of a Kansas farmer, his wife and children. I’m pretty excited about this one since it’s based on true crime. Has anyone read this before?

My thoughts on: Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore
My thoughts on: Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore
His kisses had lifted a loneliness off her she hadn’t even known she carried.
Summary from Goodreads: England, 1879. Annabelle Archer, the brilliant but destitute daughter of a country vicar, has earned herself a place among the first cohort of female students at the renowned University of Oxford. In return for her scholarship, she must support the rising women’s suffrage movement. Her charge:…

Thanks for sharing with me your reasons for joining bookstagram in my last post. It’s nice to know that we’ve all come together for the same purpose. 💛
I’ve finished this book late last night, and I’m surprised that it made me cry. It was just too touching. I love the historical aspect of it, the women coming together to support one another, but the romance between Annabelle and Sebastian really warms my heart. This is one enjoyable read that is going to stay with me for awhile. Just a little fyi, there were few steamy moments between the two that made me blush, in case some of you aren’t comfortable with those kinds of scenes. But I can assure you that they were written beautifully. Go read this one if you haven’t already.

This is my collection of Jane Austen’s books. And while I was taking this photo, a random thought came to my mind - why did I join bookstagram? I guess I’ve been feeling tired and unmotivated lately, and having thoughts about giving up. And subconsciously I must be thinking about this quote, “When you feel like giving up, remember why you started”. I’ve joined this community for a few years now, and have gone through a fair share of ups and downs. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m wasting my time doing all these. People in my life never understood why I do this. They will say that I’m wasting my money buying books, wasting my time taking photographs. But they don’t understand that this is my passion. This is what I love to do. And that’s why I decided to join the book community, to find like-minded people, to feel a sense of belonging. To know that I’m not alone.

Apologize for the repost as I didn’t like the way my previous photos look on my feed. Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favorite Audrey Hepburn films that I’ve seen one too many times. Now I can’t wait to dive into this book.

10 Bookish Problems I Have In My Life
10 Bookish Problems I Have In My Life
This is an old topic that was once very popular in the book community. It’s been talked about and shared many times and today, I’d like to share the top 10 that I faced as a reader.
1. Sometimes, you want change. You want to read something that’s out of your comfort zone but nothing feels right and you eventually end up with something that you’re comfortable with.
2. It’s the worst when this…

Changing things up a little because I got bored with my previous aesthetic. I’m currently reading Bring Down the Duke still, only because I spent way too much time on Sims 4 lately. This book is fun. I love Annabelle Archer. She’s brave and smart, and her chemistry with the Duke is just... amazing. ✨

There was a heavy downpour late last night. I couldn’t sleep, and for some reason was craving Harry Potter badly so I downloaded it on my kindle and read till I fall asleep. It’s only my second time reading it, and it’s just as magical. ✨

I’m just wondering, do you take notes while reading? I don’t take notes but I would love to start doing that but I have no idea where to begin. Do you have any tips?
