Let's talk about Captain Silver for a second
Now I can assume at least a good portion of the people on this site have seen Treasure Planet. If not, it’s on Netflix so go do that. I’ll wait.
Done? Good.
Now I know you people all love to over-analyze characters, so it confuses me as to why no one talks about this man
This is John Silver, pirate captain and the main villain of the movie. Right from the get-go, this dude gives off some bad vibes. Mostly because some dude in the beginning of the movie says
And you also find out pretty early on that he and his crew are planning a mutiny. But what makes Silver a great character is the way they have him connect with the protagonist, Jim Hawkins. Jim’s dad left when he was younger and when Silver finds out, he kind of puts himself in that role.
He gave Jim the role model he needed to get his crap together, which made it sting even more when he found out Silver’s true intentions.
But despite being so close to his lifelong goal, he can’t bring himself to hurt Jim and actually abandons his dream in order to save him.
(Only picture I could find of the scene) But what’s even better is that the two end the adventure on good terms.
He’s such a well written villain because he shows us that “villains” don’t actually need to be evil or malicious. They simply require goals opposed to the protagonist. The “villain” of the story may even be the one in the right. Treasure Planet breaks the typical mold of a villain character in such a good way, and I encourage anyone who is getting into any sort of story writing, whether it be for books, movies, tv, video games, etc. to watch this movie. It shows that villains can be something beyond “I am evil for the sake of being evil.“ Please watch this movie and see for yourself.

in tonight’s edition of very specific kinds of people i can’t fucking stand:
men who drive fucking gigantic shiny pickups that they obviously just have as ego-boosters who fucking tailgate you on an empty stretch of freeway at night and they’ve replaced their headlights with fucking military-grade 500 proton scatter billion lumen searchlights that they fucking utterly blind you with while honking for you to get out of your lane because they just desperately have to go a full 40 miles over the speed limit or their dick will just jump clean off their balls and hurl itself out their window in shame

things eragon did right:
• a black woman in a position of power (arguably one of the highest positions in the series itself)
• men openly showing emotions (crying, having breakdowns, etc)
• women calling men out on their sexism and shutting them the fuck down
• women being shown as being stronger than men (emotionally and physically) several times throughout the book and series
• are you kidding me I could go on for hours about this series
• it influenced the way I viewed the world and for that I will forever be in love with it holy shit
• also dragons

Everyone going shopping on Black Friday, be aware of three things:
The retail workers are working 12 hours shifts. We are threatened with losing our jobs if we don’t show up unless we’re dying in the hospital. I had an assistant manager show up with fucking strep because he would’ve been fired otherwise. Yes, he did infect 7 and hospitalize 2 coworkers; who knows how many members of the public he infected.
The stores have, maybe, 5 of that special cheap thing you’re after. Corporate does this on purpose, and stores are not allowed to order enough. The prices aren’t even that much lower. They lie about how expensive something is to fool you into thinking you’re getting a discount. You aren’t.
Most of the workers you will come across will be new hires for the sole purpose of being bodies for about three months before they’re fired. They actually don’t know anything because they’ve been working there for maybe two weeks, and have had no real training. I was once hired at Staples a week before Black Friday and expected to know how to deal with phones, coupons, the online ordering site, and AS400 after five 6-hour shifts. This is the kind of person you will likely be dealing with at Black Friday.
Do me and my retail family a favor and don’t shop Black Friday. Any company that needs a sale day like Black Friday to get their sales out of the red doesn’t deserve to be in business.

My brilliant friend pointed out to me that in the very first triailer for KH3, this is what we see:
That’s right, Eraqus’s keyblade. And why that Keyblade? Why not Aqua’s? Or Ven’s? Why is that so important you ask?
Because of this. Aqua knew this was going to happen, and that Sora was her only hope. So she sent her keyblade away, so that Xehanort wouldn’t be able to get the one person she was still trying to protect.
Also, an important moment to remember is this from the 0.2 Opening cutscene.
It wasn’t a tease or clickbait. It was her giving Sora the necessary means to save Ventus.
