.Started down the road towards what happens after school and thought "I will never forgive myself if I forget to record all of the 'profound' thoughts and embarassing experiences for future generations to hold against me". So here they are.

Last stop of the weekend was Tasman Glacier. Where the water stops being me in the start of the rubble coated glacier. The line on the mountain in the second picture is where the glacier was about 40 years ago. (#globalwarming) Nature was doing it's best to show us who was boss along the way. Between that wind and that backpack burn I was beat from this trip. (at Tasman Glacier)

Despite our star gazing fail, a mishap with a car window, and these purple plants going their best to kick me in the allergies, we were excited to get to the Astro Café for breakfast the next day. #views #nofilter (at Astro Cafe | Lake Tekapo | NZ)

To get to #mtcook this past weekend we had to follow #lakepukaki, on of the largest in New Zealand. The first photo is to show the landscape (something no photo can do justice). The second is as close as I could get to capturing the actual color of the lake. #nofilter (at Lake Pukaki, New Zealand)

The sun setting on our stargazing adventure out to Lake Tekepo. We were in the only area in the southern hemisphere where light polution is controlled to preserve the night sky. Unfortunately for us, no one checked the lunar cycle. If we had, we would have seen that we were one night away from a full super moon. On the upside, I don't think I've ever seen the moon in such stunning detail. #fail (at Dark Sky Reserve)

This past weekend three of us went to see Mt. Cook sitting above Hooker Lake. Not only did we get to see the tallest mountain in New Zealand, we also felt first hand how ice Berg's could still float in Hooker Lake as summer ramped up. #nofilter #mtcook #hookerlake #holymotheroffreezingcold (at Aoraki / Mount Cook)

Pyke house (my kids) getting ready for the inter-house haka competition. Then there's part of the whole school haka. You'll want your sound on. (at Dunstan High School)

Alex's annual music festival. Apparently ice cream trucks over here do soft serve treats instead of popsicle style. Who knew? #littlebigdayout #mrwhippy (at Alexandra, New Zealand)

A river just outside Alex. We cross it in order to go anywhere and I finally had the chance to stop and check it out. (at Roaring Meg hydro scheme)

My Lord of the Rings experience! Not quite what I was expecting but gorgeous all the same. Keep the sound on if you wanna hear how rough the road to the forests of Lothlorien can be. (at Paradise, New Zealand)

Just a few view from the Alexandra-Clyde trail. Fell off the bike a bit and started on the wrong trail at first, but these made it worth the effort. (at Alexandra, New Zealand)

Before Ann left us this past weekend we had to make sure that she got one last kiwi adventure (and let the university pay of course). We went out to Wanaka and saw some incredible mountain views from the top of Mt. Iron, rode a jet powered boat down a river at 50 mph and got one last delicious meal. #venison #mtiron #wanaka (at Wanaka, New Zealand)

Last week was my birthday and I cannot tell you how much it meant to see this kind of support and care coming from my colleagues here, not to mention reading all of your well wishes online. Really guys, it meant the world to me from a world away. Even kiwi enjoyed a taste! #adventuresofakiwi (at Alexandra, New Zealand)

Warning, these are very loud! The Thursday after Queenstown I went to check out the circus that had come to Alex. All in, not what I was expecting but still a great time! See for yourself! #webberbroscircus (at Alexandra, New Zealand)
