Meadow was having difficulty sleeping for the what seems like the hundredth time. As one of the last ditch efforts they could come up with, he had offered to read a story to her to see if that would help. Not only that, but it was a good reason to snuggle a little bit.
She sat on his lap sideways, her head leaned against his chest, hearing the sound of his heartbeat that rhythmically accompanied the sound of his voice. She felt at peace for once, her closest arm loosely wrapped around him as she found herself letting out a tiny yawn.

She instantly lost her sense of security. She very quickly went quiet and gave a small nod. She was debating what to do before she decided to just be honest. A deep breath was taken and she had to mentally prepare herself for a moment for what she was about to say, her anxiety shooting to high levels.
"Do you force people to join your gang..?" she started to ask before explaining, her gaze lowering to the ground, "The last place I was, I was kidnapped and forced to join the local gang... They basically treated me like a toy and-" a deep breath was taken again before she continued, "I'd... Just really not like that to happen again..-"
She felt a weight off her chest, but her paranoia was reaching even higher levels than before as she wondered how the other would react.
