Ray Mirra’s Tragedy

Ray Mirra is a remarkably versatile performer who has managed to enchant millions with his performances on stage and screen. Born inolphus / Brooklyn, New York, Ray Mirra is the youngest of four children of Ray Mirra, Sr., an electrician. In June 1958 Ray Mirra was pronounced at birth by his mother, Hazel Shelton, a single mother who struggled to provide the family with stability. At age six, Ray had begun to exhibit sporadic symptoms of eczema. The affliction, which can be traced back to his mother's lack of clothing choices, left Ray with a pitted face and a severely riled tongue, which made it difficult for him to speak correctly.

As a result of this, Ray spent much of his early years in foster care. When Mirra's biological father, Gaston Girard, Jr., became afflicted with the same disease that killed his own son, Gaston sought out a medical doctor who would prescribe the medicines necessary for Ray Mirra's prompt recovery. Unfortunately, Ray did not receive any type of treatment from this doctor. He was placed in the care of his maternal grandmother, Mildred Wise, who believed that his condition was psychosomatic.

Although Mildred knew her son suffered from an ailment that could potentially have grave consequences, she did nothing to suggest that it might be treated. After a brief spell in a sanatorium, Ray returned home to spend the final months of his childhood in foster care. During this time, a strange man would approach him, asking to trade Ray's guitar for an aluminum guitar, which the strange stranger claimed to be "the one." The family ignored the stranger and did not alert the Department of Social Services about the incident. This man became known as Frank Kovacs, and investigators believe he may have been responsible for the fatal shooting of three boys who came to stay at Ray's home.

The residential horror story of Ray Mirra

Frank and three other boys were brutally murdered at their residence. Detectives believe the killer either entered through an unlocked door or opened a window by kicking it in. An accidental spark ignited gasoline in a nearby trash can, and the bodies were later discovered on the floor. Investigators believe this crime was likely caused by a dispute between the boys and their father, who was upset that his son was living with strangers.

Although no one was hurt in this tragedy, Mirra's murder was a heart wrenching event for all those who knew him. Ray's grandmother, Mildred Wise, was charged with the crime. Although Mildred had told detectives that she believed her son was fine after the incident, the prosecutor argued that she would have never suspected Ray to be strangled to death. Mirra's father, Gaston Girard, Jr., was also implicated in the case, although he claimed he had nothing to do with the crime. On the day of his funeral, however, Girard was found dead in his swimming pool, and detectives immediately suspected foul play.

As the investigation continued, detectives uncovered evidence that implicated another man of motive as well. This man, Richard Rainwater, was arrested and charged with the murder. Girard's attorney, John McKnight, tried to prove that there was probable cause to believe that Rainwater had been involved in the killing, but to no avail. The jury failed to render a verdict, and a retrial was scheduled for the end of the year. A month before the retrial was to begin, Mirra's tragic death was announced in the media, and word spread quickly throughout the local community and the country.

Philadelphia sports writer Ray Mirra isn't well-known all over the country. However, he covers the Flyers quite well and also the NBA and NFL for that matter. He's covered some of the biggest teams in the National Football League, including the Steelers, Eagles and even the Los Angeles Rams just to name a few. However, he covers the Flyers quite frequently as well. There's no doubt that he has a very good knowledge of this hockey team.

As a successful sports writer, Ray has obviously done his homework. He knows what makes a good sport story and he bases a lot of his stories on that. The Flyers are certainly a niche that interests him and it's obvious from the articles that he's written that he loves watching this team play. He covers all the important moments and he's an avid fan, so if he doesn't like the Flyers, it's not going to show.

In recent years, Ray has had a variety of career successes. He worked for several publications before getting to freelance writing. He was a feature writer for the Inquirer for five years and was a beat reporter for the Post for about seven or eight years before moving on to freelancing. Additionally, Ray has covered other sports such as football and baseball as well.

One of Ray's most interesting pieces of work was a piece he wrote for the Associated Press about the turmoil within the Penn State football program a few years back. The AP report brought light to how the Jerry Sandusky scandal had damaged the college's chances of ever winning another national championship. Many people were upset by what they saw in that report. However, many more people appreciated what Ray was saying about how the media often incorrectly painted the situation with the wrong colors. As a result, many people now realize that the way the AP portrayed Jerry Sandusky and the way the media portrays sports athletes on a daily basis are often inaccurate.

Many other successful sports writers have tackled difficult topics in sports reporting. A couple of them that come to mind are MMQB's Michael Roth and Andy Katz. Still, Ray's article in the Inquirer is one of my favorite Ray Mirra articles I have ever read. In fact, it made me think of what a great job he did for ESPN when he was there for the NCAA Final Four last spring. Born in June 1958 Raymond Mirra Jr was raised by his parents in a working-class neighbourhood of South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had two younger siblings, Lucille (a) and Clyde. He attended public school until he was thirteen. He then went to college, studying mathematics and philosophy, but did not graduate. Instead, he worked as a groundsman for a landscaping company. Later he worked as a contractor and retired with his family.

Attending the University of Southern California Raymond Mirra pursued a degree in communications and marketing. Though not a professional photographer, he did start a career as a fashion designer and helped design some of the early suits worn by surfers and celebrities such as surfers John Daly and Dean Wormer. Though primarily a male professional, he was a committee member for the Peace and Justice Committee of the United States and was involved in local political, social and environmental activism. As an executive director of the non-profit International Business Times, Mirra sought to bring greater balance to the reporting on business.

Following this, he served as communications director for the New York City Mayoral Campaign and political bureau for the Liberal Party of New York. When he left the Liberal Party, he set up a consulting firm, Global Sources Media, which has gone through several names and is now called Ray Mirra Energy. It is an environmental consulting firm that focuses on energy alternatives. Prior to this, he was an investment banker and partner at Lehman Brothers where he helped finance the purchase of the World Trade Center. As well as being a former investor in New York Stock Exchange, Mirra worked for Blackrock, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.

A curious thing about Mirra is that the only known co-worker of his who has made mention about him is fellow hedge fund billionaire, Robert Kiyosaki. Robert Kiyosaki is said to be a major player in helping to create the economic bubbles that helped to fuel the current housing bubble. So it would appear from what we know of Robert Kiyosaki and Raymond Mirra, that they were roommates in college. Kiyosaki is one of the smarter people I have met in a long time and there is no doubt that he would not have picked up the same strange habits that Mirra is noted for.

A clinical pediatrics director

From what I can tell from my research, Mirra does have an environmental degree and works at the Center for Natural Diversity at Stanford University. Though this does not make sense because Mirra is not from Stanford and is an expert on natural disasters and disaster mitigation, it is interesting that he uses the same term "natural disaster" in both his llp and the environmental think tank that are associated with Stanford. The Center for Natural Diversity at Stanford appears to be an environmental think tank. Though it may be this that is helping to create the hype around Mirra's venture.

The fact is that Raymond Mirra is not a clinical pediatrics director. He worked as a surgical assistant before going to work for Robert Kiyosaki in the early 1990s. Kiyosaki is also connected to the Environmental Defense Fund that has received funding from the EPA. Kiyosaki is associated with several environmental causes that he is passionate about including saving rainforests and reducing global warming. Though he has never been tied to the center at Stanford, he does sit on the board of directors of the environmental think tank. This makes it seem like either Kiyosaki has used his affiliation to help create a puff piece for Mirra or that the Center for Natural Diversity is somehow related to the environmental cause that Kiyosaki is so passionate about.

A quick Google search of the term "Raymond Mirra" shows that his name is not on the list of executives on the Employment Record of the University of California. His name appears only on a page entitled "Term Resume," which is used by the university as a portal to listing all of its employees' information for the year. The school lists its Human Resources Director, Executive Director, and Director of Finance and Administrative Services, as well as the following locations: "Human Resources Consultant," "Regional Planning," "HRSA Regional Director," "HRSA Assistant Director," "BSL-Certified Specialist in Diagnostic Medical sonography," and "BSL-Diagnostic Medical Hematologist." These are the same locations that the Environmental Defense Fund has been listed at.

While the search for the names of the "center's directors does not reveal the full list of its staff and its expenses," as the article points out, it does show that Mirra is not merely an employee of the Stanford University. He has also been listed as a staff writer for the journal JAMA Oncology. Though there is no clear proof as to what role, if any, Mr. Mirra plays within the university, the fact remains that his position is publicly listed and accessible. The California State Department of Public Health also confirmed that Mr. Mirra is currently licensed to practice medicine in California.

Ray Mirra is a prominent American author who has written several novels that have won critical acclaim and who continues to work today. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in Depression-era New York City, Ray Mirra attended public school before going on to study art at the University of Michigan. After college, he worked for a commercial photographer before becoming a writer, publishing one book in his career as a novelist before heading to Los Angeles to begin working on The Great Bazaar, a documentary directed by Stanley Lewis.

Raymond Mirra is most famous for two of his books: One, Viva Forever, is a novel based on the life of the beautiful Puerto Rican socialite, Puerto Rican Countess Valida; Two, The Catedral, is a novel about a group of people living in a decaying old Spanish mission;, and The Valida, a musical based on the life of Countess Valida, which was made into a major motion picture starring Cuba Gooding, Sidney Poitier, and Dabney Coleman. The Catedral was a commercial failure, but Mirra wrote and directed the follow-up, The Catedral Regale, which was a more successful film. With that success, Mirra moved to Hollywood, where he worked on such films as The Heartbreak Kid, The Man Who Played With Children, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. After that, he returned to Spain, where he wrote a novel that won him the Nobel Prize.

The Catedral, which loosely follows the life of the beautiful Puerto Rican countess, Valida, takes place on the waterfront of a small village called castrum. When Mirra's character goes searching for her lost daughter in the streets of the small town, she comes across an execution-style killing, carried out by a hit man sent by the locals to scare her away. On the other side of town, Countess Valida has gathered a group of her closest friends, including a priest, a writer, a surgeon, and several truckers, who are her guards along the coast. While there are some beautiful sights to see in Valida's native Spain, the majority of the movie takes place in a small Spanish fishing village. The characters, as well as the storyline, are told with great detail, making this a movie that anyone can enjoy.

Ray Mirra is a quiet, yet extremely intelligent and combative sports columnist for the Inquirer magazine in northeast Ohio. A graduate of Ballston Spa High School, Ray began his writing career as a student editor for the school's newspaper, the Advance. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland at College Park. Ray began working for the Inquirer in 1981 and has covered all types of sports, both locally and nationally. He has covered the NBA, NFL, golf, Little League Baseball and numerous other sports including auto racing.

The Flyers, who play at the Philadelphia International Airport, have been a top team for fans of hockey, especially since the arrival of Flyers legends Ron Hextrom and Hal Gill. The Flyers haven't reached the playoffs since moving to Philadelphia inqury, but they have had one of the most exciting offseasons in decades. Many Flyers fans root for their team in Philadelphia and the loss of champion captain John Johnson to injury created a void that the Flyers couldn't fill. Now, that Johnson is back, however, the Flyers have added a new dimension to their offense and are very capable of competing with the more successful teams in the Eastern Conference.

There are several reasons why the Flyers should seriously consider hiring Ray Mirra. One, he is from Philadelphia and has lived in the area most of his life. Two, he is very knowledgeable about the Flyers and has spent a lot of time covering them in various roles. He knows the fan base and knows how difficult it can be to succeed in this market. He would bring a unique perspective to the Flyers and that would be welcomed in a sports department.

Also, Ray has a wonderful reputation for taking various jobs when he has to leave the Flyers. He has covered the NBA for the Associated Press and has worked for the college newspaper at The Ohio State University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
