Can partner education programs impact maternal health and mental well-being?
Likely yes...studies have shown that pregnant women who were dissatisfied in their partner relationship, mainly with the division of household tasks and child care, were four times more likely to experience perinatal distress.
Additionally, the women who had lower educational level and unemployment were even more vulnerable to these feeling of distress.
This unique program in Colombia started during the COVID-19 pandemic and hopes to address gender inequality as women still shoulder three-quarters of all unpaid caregiving.
