The Twisted Wonderland fandom makes me sad (rant)
I’m going to be honest. For a fandom of a videogame where you only need to be like 5 to play and most of the characters in the main cast are kids, it sure has a lot of weird nsfw content…I wouldn’t say anything if it was of the few adult characters, but the most popular ones are of the younger ones…it’s disgusting. Most “popular” people in this fandom follow accounts that post this kind of stuff too.
Twisted Wonderland, for what it is, is a beautiful game with a beautiful story, and it’s a shame that people only seem to care about how “hot” the characters are, even if they’re teens, and shipping another character or yourself with them or whatever. Nothing wrong with shipping or selfshipping or whatever (as long as it’s not nsfw stuff with teens obviously), most ships and OCs are cute and funny! But it becomes weird when it’s all the fandom can think of when thinking of these characters, ESPECIALLY when it’s done in a very nsfw kind of way, which is the case for the majority of this fandom.
I can not count with both of my hands the amount of accounts I had to block because they either make weird incestuous fanart, ship adults with non-adults or make nsfw fanart of TEEN characters!!! Like how can you make weird art of minors and have the courage to put “minors dni” in your bio?!
“Oh but what if the people making those are teens too?” Most of them are not, trust me, I always check their bios.
“Don’t worry, they’re just anime characters that don’t even look that much like their age Yes they DO, that’s the issue. Or are you going to tell me that Ace Trappola does not look like the most stereotypically 16 year old boy ever?! I even remember reading somewhere that the artist and author (Yana Toboso right…?) made a special effort for the characters to look their age.
Another argument I have seen is that some characters, like the twins, may have started as 17 in the story but have probably already turned 18 by now, since their birthday technically already passed, which is WRONG.
If NRC is following the “European model” of schools then the twins would have started the year as 16 year olds, and then after book 2 they become 17 year olds. Basically you turn the age you’re supposed to be in a school year in the year the school year starts. I know this is confusing so let me give you an example:
person A is born in January and person B is born in October. They both go to the same school. They start 11th grade, where they are supposed to be 16 in september 2024. This means that person A turns 16 in January 2024 but person B only turns 16 in October 2024, still in the same year the school year starts but after the school year already started.
Even if you guys were only attracted to these teens because of a weird high school nostalgia fetish, you guys still have Lilia and LEONA, who is 20 and GORGEOUS AS HELL, HELLO???
(and technically all of the 3rd years but to me that is being on thin ice)
Sorry for bad English
#twst#twst rant#yall disappoint me#twisted wonderland#im sad :(#twst unpopular opinion#this fandom could have been SO COOL#but noo the weirdo adults that cannot behave around teens had to enter the fandom as well#why are jade and Floyd and sometimes riddle some of the main victims#too?#and there are so many attractive adult characters like baul#OR MY QUEEN DYLLA

I feel like this was obvious already but the castle illustrated in the Holiday Card that Malleus has given Yuu is actually Wild Rose Castle 😭 Before Book 7, I assumed this was the castle that is Malleus' home (Black Scale Castle basically), but Black Scale is covered with mountains instead of trees.
Whereas both the castle on the card and Wild Rose... their trees and the shape of the castle matches a lot, the position mirrors each other.
It just makes me tear up that there is actually references to Book 7 even earlier in game !! 😭✨This scene happened before Jamil's Overblot iirc and that was released so long ago now lol???
I wonder after Wild Rose Castle became a ruin, its become an "iconic place" on Briar Valley, that they make paintings that still "commemorates it."
I really believe that the castle Malleus wants to visit is actually Wild Rose (on his Bloom Birthday Interview).
However, based on Lilia's dream, Wild Rose doesn't seem to be getting reclaimation by Briar Valley,,, even though (as assumed by the art, it seems like its still in good condition, just covered it thorns), they're just letting it decay/become a ruin. Maybe to pay respect to the faes that died with it? Kind of like the Titanic and how "we can retrieve its ruins" but its more ethical to just let it deteriorate to pay respect to the dead that rests there yk
Also there was interesting build up in this vignette before the castle part... its that Malleus can go anywhere he wants, but he cannot go to places where he is uninvited. I wonder what makes him feel that he's "uninvited" with this castle ruin???😭 Its like he's repeating Lilia's situation where he took 400 years to visit Wild Rose again. Its assumed that Lilia didnt visit for a long time maybe because of his Unique Magic that he'll see how Meleanor died on that place?? There was also this instance where it feels like Malleus is referencing Lilia's UM, just that he's not seeing the past in scenery like Lilia, just feeling their presence for a bit(?).
Funny thing is about Malleus' Holiday Card... is that he sent this AFTER the holiday in Book 4 was over JDJSJS also I wonder what he said in this letter?
Malleus has always been consistent in inviting Yuu to Briar Valley, but this fact that he gave us a Holiday Card with Wild Rose Castle, a presumably ruin near Briar Valley reminds me of his wish that he wants to go to a castle ruins with someone... If we ever visit Briar Valley, I wonder if he'll take us on tour with the ruins instead of the Black Scale Castle/Dragon Capital City (out of the Senate's view yk) lol

theory-ish ramblings
TWST CANT JUST DROP A REFERENCE TO CHERNABOG (FROM MALLEUS’s HALLOWEEN COSTUME STORY) AND EXPECT ME TO NOT GO CRAZY ABOUT THE CHERNABOG-RAMSHACKLE CONNECTION THEORY 💀💀💀
alt fan-translations of the last line:
No one ever dressed dressed as Chernabog, huh?
If Chernabog represented Ramshackle when it was a valid dorm, it would make sense that people would not dress up as him, as he would be respected enough to turn off people from that idea.
If Ramshackle turns out to be a 100% confirmed missing dorm (and not just an old outdated dorm building for a dorm we already know) that used to be valid it must be very old. (I’ve seen other people discuss this next part, writing it here for others and for myself as a note, and I also add info about Fantasia since this is about Chernabog) Pomefiore is one of the oldest dorms (confirmed in-game) (Snow White came out December 21, 1937) and is the main theme of NRC. Mickey’s Thru the Mirror short (May 30, !1936!), which Player’s room is based on, is slightly older than that, and Fantasia, which Chernabog is from, is almost as old as the Snow White film. (November 13, 1940)
Grim wants to be the strongest mage / Chernabog is often portrayed as one of the strongest power-wise Disney villains AND HE’S DEF ICONIC ENOUGH TO BE IMPORTANT IN TWST and he’s connected to Mickey through Fantasia, and we have some Mickey thing going on in Ramshackle
Visual similarities between prologue-monster-Grim and Chernabog I’ve posted here , tee hee
Ramshackle’s green-ish palette could be somewhat inspired by the fact that Chernabog have been portrayed as green before:
Chernabog summons ghosts when he awakens, so if Chernabog represented Ramshackle, Player and Grim getting along with their ghost roommates fits extremely well!
Ramshackle dorm also has. Goddamn. Gargoyle sculptures!! Hello!!!!!!!!! idk if im just unlucky but i haven’t seen anyone discuss this when connecting Chernabog to Ramshackle 😭 You can’t clearly see them anywhere though, sadge. Malleus disapproves…
Chernabog fits the gargoyle vibe perfectly, too.

"In Jamil's dream, Kalim won't exist. "In Jamil's dream, HE'LL be housewarden and Kalim will be his servant." Actually I think he's too codependent for all that, maybe he just wants a break and a fruity drink and then he'll be right back on his grind. That's my theory, anyway.

Location of the Princess Glow and Malleus’ ‘Resurrection’
After watching Fairy Gala, I found it very interesting that Crowley mentions he keeps the magestone controlling the school’s weather in the Mirror Chamber. We do not get to see where this is actually stored, but he keeps it here specifically for safekeeping, as there are many rules of who can be allowed in the Mirror Chamber and when.
But then it hit me- if Crowley has as much of a connection to Meleanor as it’s theorized…what if the infamously missing Princess Glow is in the Mirror Chamber? Or specifically, in its Mirror Chamber’s chandelier?
With the Meleanor in the Dark Mirror theory and the Crowley-Levan theory, I’ve seen it proposed that Meleanor’s missing Princess Glow is in the Mirror Chamber. We have little information about the Princess Glow, but the goal of attaining it was one of the many unfortunate reasons why Henrik wanted to lay siege on Briar Valley in the first place.
Apparently, it can grant wishes and heal wounds and sicknesses that would normally be incurable. It’s a very powerful magestone/crystal, and affixed to Meleanor’s staff. We have yet to see that actual power of the Princess Glow, but it must be an incredibly powerful artifact if this is indeed the case.
This is one event that has been consistent through all mediums of TWST (game, manga, novel): The “heart” of the chandelier in the school’s cafeteria breaking. It is THE event forcing Yuu, Deuce, and Ace (then Grim), to go to the abandoned mine to fetch a new magestone by the order of Crowley. It is also where the mysterious first Overblot of the game appears, and the one we’ve had the least answers to. This Dwarf Miner phantom is also where Grim gets his first taste of a blot crystal 👀 However, it also forces all four of them to work together in a common goal, something Crowley remarks as a rarity.
What I mean to say is that the chandelier is the “core” setting up A LOT of concepts in the game. Within all three mediums of TWST, it’s not unusual for storyplots to be tweaked or outright removed. But the chandelier breaking is consistent plot in all three:
The game has Ace, Deuce, and Grim accidentally breaking the chandelier through a fight, an event infamously known throughout the school with a rumor of “stupid freshmen” breaking the extremely expensive chandelier on their first day. Crowley specifies how one-of-a-kind this chandelier is, its light meant to burn for *eternity.* An interesting detail 👀
In the manga, this is a scene that’s condensed for smoother storytelling and less panels, but Ace, Deuce, and Grim set the Queen of Hearts on fire, and as punishment, Crowley sends us to the mines to get a magestone for the chandelier. Here, apparently the chandelier has been slowly dying out, which is very different from the game- but I think the fact that the “heart” of the chandelier slowly dying could be a relevant metaphor as well 👀
The novel sticks much more closely to the game, where Deuce, Ace, and Grim break the chandelier, breaking the gemstone fueling it. The novel has incredible details regarding the gemstone itself and Crowley’s reactions to it.
HOWEVER! I’d like to mention several caveats to this, just because I’m still very confused about it haha 🤣 Meleanor’s staff has very similar shape language to the fountain below. But, when it’s night, the cafeteria chandelier that serves as the catalyst to the prologue, the yellow light turns green. The shape and color of this chandelier looks similar to the Princess Glow, doesn’t it? Almost like it’s suggesting where it is.
But in the infamous Malleus artwork, there’s clearly a light coming from above that’s shining down onto his chest. However, the position of the light seems to suggest it’s coming from above? It’s coming from the ceiling somewhere though…the light is also here with all the dorm leaders, mirror, and a raven with a key, the light is also present here and coming from above and shining on Malleus.
I wondered if the light was coming from the Dark Mirror itself, but the light overlays the mirror in the work. HOWEVER, the in-game scene in the prologue seems to suggest the light being from Mirror. so…I’m not really surely where this light is coming from NAHXJD 🤣 But considering how it’s been a consistent part in promotional art of the game, there must be great importance to this light.
I also checked in-game assets that @alchemivich has found, and the chandelier in the Mirror Chamber is remarkably detailed and beautiful, and we can see better how the light shines on it in the game. It resembles flowers, doesn’t it? A proud, beautiful flower of evil…?
Anyway, as I’m sure that you’ve guessed by now, the reason I think the Princess Glow is somewhere in the Mirror Chamber is because of this mysterious light. Henrick says he saw “the light of the Princess Glow,” and knew Meleanor had it in her staff. And in all these images I’ve shown above, in the incredibly mysterious prologue and promotional art, there’s always this ray of light shining down over the *Dark Mirror*
This theory depends heavily on the concept of Meleanor being in the Dark Mirror, of course. The Princess Glow is said to cause miracles…and could the miracle include a very slow yet sure resurrection from the dead…?
And speaking of resurrection, TWST is very fond of using that piece of promotional art of Malleus rising from the coffin. It’s used in A LOT of trailers of all kinds. Many have pointed out that this adds a lot to Malleus’ heavy biblical symbolism surrounding him. But @/hanafubukki and @/moonlightequin1 mentioned this artwork to me, of the six coffins in the background and Malleus rising from the 7th one. In the recent soundtrack teaser, there’s this mysterious new scene of the coffins rising…but only 6 of them. The 7th is missing, which may be the coffin Malleus is rising from.
But then it hit me. For a long time now, I’ve had a bad feeling about Malleus’ fate in book 7. I’m not sure- but I feel like Book 7 won’t have the traditional “closure” that most of the Books do? And then I remembered: in the Book 7 trailer, there’s a split-second shot where NRC’s coffin gates are hidden in the background of the dark abyss Malleus is trapped in. Why are these coffins relevant to him specifically? 👀
Unless…remember how Book 7 says that Malleus’ barrier and sleeping spell can only be broken in two ways: either he puts down the barrier himself, or he “disappears” in the process of forcibly removing the spell. If Malleus truly reaches a bad ending…would his rising from the coffin be taken more literally? The light of the Princess Glow can cause miracles, and I’m sure TWST wouldn’t kill off one of the students- especially Malleus. STYX and Ortho have all agreed that the best and only course of action to take it to try and convince Malleus to put down the barrier himself- and I fully agree that the other students, especially Yuu & crew, have no intentions of genuinely hurting him. But something feels off to me, and I don’t know what it is! >_>
I mean, so far we haven’t seen the other students suffer from terrible effects from their own blot afterwards. Idia was surrounded by heaps of blot, but his own curse that consumes blot may have helped on that manner. Malleus however, essentially has an infinite cycling supply of magic since he can feed of the nature of the world, so his barrier keeps expanding without him running out of magic. will this affect somehow? 😭
He DID get that weird glitch that only Yuu has had in his fight against Ortho. It’s been brought up time and time again of how fatal blot can be, literally consuming the Overblotted mage. We have yet to see this consequence in action, so I wonder if Malleus would be the first…? Back to the trailer, he is in a dark abyss, before getting trapped in a cage of his own thorns (and with the NRC coffins in the background). Hana also mentioned to me that this may be where “true loves kiss” comes around again with Malleus- which I also think connects to the “Sleeping Death” from both Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Crowley has been established to be the one in control of the coffins, and the one who unlocks them. Was Malleus put in a coffin for his own safety or “resurrection” in Book 8???????? Why is one coffin missing in the soundtrack teaser???????? Why is he in the coffin I NEED ANSWERS AUGHH
I don’t know, I feel like I wrote all of this leading to no where because I undermined my own theory several times BAJXJD 🤣 It’s all just me desperately reaching and vaguely connecting information, but I just have that *feeing* 🤣🤣 I still can’t figure out where the prologue is going with all this >_> In a different theory, someone suggested to me another possibility for the Princess Glow that I recommend 🫶

Halloween events are well known to foreshadow some elements of the main story, as these events in particular are long-form with a much larger cast of characters than the typical event. And throughout Glorious Masquerade and individual voicelines, there’s is a running theme of masks and identity…something mysterious, the way no one will recognize you, to conduct yourself however you please…this is repeated in both the beginning and end of the event, as if the game is hinting to not forget this.
Rook’s voiceline draws my particular attention, as he interprets masks as a form of freedom. In his Flight lesson voicelines and his Suitor Suit vignette, we see how Rook sees birds as creatures that are inherently free. It also interests me that he believes that Crowley would likely look “beautiful” in flight. So to Rook, both masks and birds represent freedom…hmmm👀🐦⬛
Vargas’ voicelines is one of the only times where Crowley’s mask is commented upon, and it’s that no one has seen Crowley without it- and everyone doesn’t have the heart to ask Crowley to remove it either.
Crowley, I sense your foreshadowing 🐦⬛🔫

yalll i saw a tweet about how some of guys don't know that epel is meant to be sámi, not a southern american??? babes... he's very sámi. just as the original tweet said, not everything his "gringo-centric"
i suggest really looking into the sámi people and the oppression they face by their governments!! the 1960s saw a wave of forced assimilation in norway. culture and language is constantly under threat, with children having not been allowed to speak their native languages in educational settings. this oppression goes all the way back to the 15th/16th century, and it is not unique to norway. there have been campaigns to eradicate their customs, language and religious practices for centuries.
like, y'all, there's heavy inspiration, especially in the collars!! these intricate designs and the jewelry... my goodness this is so pretty???
correct me if im wrong, but the term gákti is used to describe these garments. there have been controversies over finnish people dressing up in fake gákti and performing "traditional rituals" for tourists. this is extremely similar to various other cultures. the act of exoticizing and orientalizing the sámi people and their culture serves no purpose but to fill the pockets of non-sámi capitalists who oppress them.
on that note, when writing epel fics please stop with the southern american shenanigans, especially when the culture he is implied to be from has actively been eradicated for centuries.

Wait wait wait. I was trying to sleep but then this hit me- In regards to the time loop theory, it’s been regularly assumed that the time loop is caused by someone’s magic. Malleus says that not even he can turn back time (although he’s still young for a fae), but he alongside Crowley and Maleficia have been common contenders to be the root cause of a time loop.
But what if this isn’t caused by someone’s magic/Unique Magic? What if it’s caused by the special artifact at NRC- the Dark Mirror? When watching the opening prologue, it opens up with Crowley surrounded by the dorm mirrors in flames. He steps into a mirror, implied to transform into a raven/crow, flying throughout NRC. Here we get glimpses at all the NRC characters and hints at all the Overblots and other future events.
But then at the very ending of the opening, Crowley’s coat falls into darkness, where we see that same raven flying into the mirror, where it then transitions into a coffin at NRC
And…if we look at Crowley’s SSR groovy, his groovy shows him taking the hand of a student inside the coffin for the opening ceremony, with the Dark Mirror in the background.
The Dark Mirror can take you anywhere in Twisted Wonderland- despite the original Snow White Magic Mirror never having these powers. The Dark Mirror is also known for its Overblot markings on its mask. After all, isn’t it strange that the Dark Mirror may have potentially summoned Yuu from a whole different universe? So…what if Crowley figured out or even made it so that the Dark Mirror can travel back to a specific point in time? The Dark Mirror doesn’t only just go anywhere, but…perhaps “any time” or at least manipulated to return to the exact point in time where Yuu awakened.
The opening begins and ends in a near identical way, but have subtle differences as if to show that these are not the same timelines…Crowley enters the mirror, goes to NRC, the games events play out, a bad ending is reached (suggested by the dorms being on fire), then he enters to the mirror, and ends up in NRC yet again with the coffin.
And in the prologue after we lose against Phantom Grim, Crowley says “the hour grows long, and time is scarce. Take care to never let go of that hand”…while he’s in front of the Dark Mirror. Despite the opening prologue taking place in the future, we are “Welcomed to the Villain’s world” and back to the beginning of the game…where we wake up in the coffin yet again in front of the Dark Mirror.

I know I'm just reaching, but the sequence of Silver waking up in the Rabbit Race feels so much like the occuring ways he's woken up by Lilia 😭😭😭🙏🙏💖💕💞💕
⬆️⬆️⬆️ This is from the Rabbit Fest
⬇️⬇️⬇️ This is the parallel of it in Book 7
also
one thing I noticed, Silver and Knight of Dawn do have similarities with their magic other than their whole white void magic... ITS THAT THEY BOTH REQUIRE A FAE TO DEVOTE THEIR STRENGTH TO 😭😭🙏🙏✨💖💕💖💕
In Japanese, they basically said the same thing😭😭‼️‼️✨✨ especially the 我に力を!!😭😭(in silver's case the way he says his line is just more ""informal"" (俺に力を) than Dawn, he says "ore ni" unlike "ware ni")
Does this mean in Silver's heart,,, Lilia is Silver's guardian fairy??? 😭😭😭💞💞💞
GRAAGHHH I CANT WITH THEM SJSHDJAJD
I know thats like obvious already but "guardian fairies" for Knight of Dawn, was the origin of his power, every time he wields his sword he dedicates his strength to them, so every battle he endures feels like its for the fairies that gives him strength and in turn, he wants to protect them (and remember that Silver's dream is to be a knight capable of protecting Malleus and Lilia (the faes he loves!!!))
IM GONNA SOB... GUYS IT KINDA FEELS LIKE he loves his father so much, he thinks his strength came from his love to Lilia😭😭
So, the thing that makes Silver strong even against his sleepiness or sadness, is true love, JDJSJDJS regardless if its not Lilia, it could be Sebek, it could be the first years...
Its mostly Lilia OFCC but it can also be from friends and in the Rabbit Fest, the first years, who are his friends😭💖💖💖🙏✨ I'm sure Lilia would be proud AJDJWJS
ALSO now this just makes me think that MAYBE Silver's and Dawn's lineage, requires them "to love someone," or "be loved" in order to be strong???
If so, THAT COULD BE A PARALLEL to the fact that the Draconia lineage also needs lots of love in order to be born... so both Silver/Knight of Dawn and Malleus/Meleanor are people who were born and whose strength centers around love— kind of like they cant exist nor grow up without it 😭😭💞🙏✨✨
WE NEED MORE KNIGHT OF DAWN LOREEE I NEED TO CONFIRM THIS KNIGHT'S BACKSTORY PLEASEEEEEEE😭😭💥💥🙏🙏✨✨✨

❗❗TWSTJP BOOK 7 SPOILERS ❗❗
Ive been thinking since the savannaclaw Rook card was announced. I think we will get cards relating to book 7 for the first years and the dorm vices.
For the first years, i think their cards will be relating to their official title. something we've seen with both Sebek and Ortho, and i think the gang is going to help us out in the battle against Malleus. It seems like We're going backwards with this, so its like:
☆Sebek - Knight of Lighting
☆Ortho- Watchman of Tartarus
☆ Epel -Unyielding Poison Apple
☆ Jack - Lone Wolf
☆ Deuce - Spade Spearman
☆ Ace - Ace of Hearts
Most of them seem to relate to knights and fighting so i think we will slowly wake up or pals and defeat Tsunotarou with the power of Friendship!!!
Now,, the vices. I believe we will see the "Sweetest dreams" or something relating to their past, and it also gets forshadowed by their titles ,but for 5 groovies instead. (maybe not Jamil, for the fact that he overblotted. )
☆ Briar Guardian - General Lilia
☆ Adherent to Beauty - savannaclaw Rook
☆ Charming Moray - Eel Jade
☆ Savanna Shyster - Maybe sunset savannah Ruggie??? Or him before meeting leona???
☆ Rosesitter - To me this sounds like when Trey used to hang out with Riddle or even him being the heartslabyul housewarden at some point. Idk how could it be implemented.
Another thing that i feel like its interesting is how the dreams seem to be based on the happiest moment in your life, or how you wish it was. Lilia's wasnt the war, it was meeting Malleus and Silver. For Rook it was exchanging dorms aka when he met Vil. I think meeting someone relates to this, specially if it is meeting one of our overblotters.
BUT THATS JUUUUST A THEEEEORY!!!
A GAME THEORY!!!!!!!
Let me know what yall think, i need twst moots. ♡(@'ω'@)/♡
