This is a Harry Potter sideblog. If fandom engagement with Harry Potter makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please block us for your own peace of mind. If you are transphobic, antisemitic, racist, or otherwise bigoted, stay the fuck away from us and seriously rethink your life choices.
If you've come to tell us that "but JKR SAYS that fandom engagement is supporting her views", why is that the one thing you've decided the loose dripping asshole is right about? What about my queer disabled ass's 3 note t4t Drarry fanfic on this tiny blog on a dying unprofitable microblogging site is "giving her cultural support/a platform"?
Don't answer that. Don't bother me. I'm not interested in what excuses you've made to police how other people harmed by JKR have chosen to engage with the media. I don't care what your identity is; I've met cis allies safer than you, if you think harassment is justified for any reason. This is especially true since we have Harry Potter fictives and OCtives who are literally told (usually by singlets) that their unchangeable identity must be hidden/suppressed because it is fundamentally unsafe for trans people, which has worsened our dissociative symptoms badly and most of all deeply harmed them.
We are part of multiple minority groups, not all of which we plan on ever disclosing, that have been hurt by JKR.
Some things to note: We will not share our system origins or disordered status, but welcome plurals of all types and all origins, including tulpas and plural nonsystems. We are intersex and will not share the agab that was violently forced upon us. While we don't intend to get into identity or theory discourse here, we support all people's right to name their oppression, including when it seems "contradictory" or they are "the wrong" identity, as well as to name their identities even if they seem "contradictory" or "don't meet the criteria". Kill the cop in your head.
We are strongly against both harassment and censorship of any kind. If anything we write surprises you after hearing that, especially given that we try to tag all major triggers so that you can curate your experience, feel free not to read it but don't make that our problem.
To other fans who are safe for the minority groups JKR has hurt, we're sorry if this comes across as hostile. We'd love to make friends and engage with the fandom community. We've just found that being up front about these things spares us a lot of shittiness that would otherwise get flung our way.
