Solution for Affordable, Accessible & Effective Online Education System
With Covid-19 effects and potential prolonging lockdown in the hindsight, distance learning seems to be the new normal and it is imperative for paradigm shift in contemporary pedagogy. However, in the country like Nepal, it needs a dreamer at the policy level to transition vision into a reality.┬а
Despite, shortcomings and frustrations coming from objectivity of the circumstances, solution is the only way to build our childrenтАЩs future. So, in my view, the organizations- NTC/NCELL and Local Government, with instruction from the Federal Government are the only ones that build a foundation to make distance education affordable and accessible and other far reaching applications. So here, is my proposed solution:
1. Fed should reduce import tariff on smart-phones or heavily subsidize purchases temporarily or bulk purchase phones with B2G (can get dirt-cheap as less in demand) with pre-installed Nepali instruction apps from the government.┬а
2. Make a deal with Google Suite for Education (in Nepali) or any other proprietory software. Involve TU in making apps and instruction in Nepali language (they are free). Fly our national carrier for educational materials too!┬а
3. Ward Office collects list of people and beneficiary. Distribute as per one-house-one smartphone- for those who don't possess it- policy through local bodies (ward level). For those who claim they don't have smart phones, check their past data pack purchase history and relay the same to the ward.
4. Heavily subsidize data packs to NTC/NCELL in specified local bodies through their specified mobile numbers esp. at rural areas.
5. Pilot project this in few wards for a week to see the results and expedite the process around the country.
6. Also, this might aid people in medicaid, identify Covid-19 symptoms or contact trace and help in food distribution systems.
7. However, this measure is only possible if three conditions are simultaneously valid- a. If there are no Covid-19 symptoms and b. If there is no food and security issues in the ward level - тАЬMaslow before they BloomтАЭ. and ┬аc. it reaches to the hand of right people. The above solutions are a key to effective online education via. internet. Posting a free zoom gimmick for 40 minutes session will not help anyone. It will only discriminate and aid to frustration to those vulnerable groups out of reach. So, letтАЩs be sensitive in these challenging times and raise our voice to accessibility and affordability from our side. Note: Smartphones above can be replaced by any other interactive device like tablets, chromebooks, kindles, etc. Thank you ! Stay safe ! Namaskaar !┬а

A Warrior for the Princess
I wanted to write something for ┬аbelated ValentineтАЩs!
A warrior has been┬аnurtured┬аand is equipped with the sword to attack just to defend himself. He┬аhas been trained┬аto have flexible body movements to adjust with situation or dodge the attack from the others. This warrior is in 21st┬аcentury and fighting each day battle in his office. His knowledge and experience - sword and┬аshield-┬а┬аthat he had learnt to apply in form of his skills are his hope to win the battle. His career is obviously his battle field. He wonders why he is actually fighting his daily battle. Some days, out of frustration, when he┬аis tired┬аof his battle, he thinks that he is fighting for nothing.
Every battle has a purpose. A young man in a battle field ┬аis not very sure what he is fighting for until one day when he goes back ┬аhome after the battle one night, throws away his battle dress (tuxedo), makes a peg for himself and wonders. He is not able to figure out what this transition of being in the battle and all the premises behind its preparations until the of the month ┬аwhen he receives his reward by the end of each month and sends┬аpart of┬аit to home. ┬аA thing hits his mind and he realizes that the battle he has been┬аfighting┬аtaking praises and frustrations from his boss, but staying humble, getting things done and feeling victorious, also helping others┬а unknowingly thereby sharpening their┬аswords┬аas others are fighting the same battle as himself. He tries to stay calm, humble and gets along with others just because he wants to extend his territory for his own security.
But that was only the part of what he is fighting for. ┬аThe warrior is young and not only fights just for his own security, but also for his loved ones. ┬аHe would have no purpose if he did not care to build and protect his territory. The warrior by nature is aggressive, muscular, mindful and boastful by nature, desires a defensive, soft, ecstatic, and aesthetic┬а thing that he possesses within his territory. His body needs the softness of the other and warmth of the bed with age. He is willing to┬аreveal┬а┬аwith only his deeds and with┬а no any language that he┬аis going to be┬а┬аa great warrior who looked after his princess and their descendants all his life.
He realizes the purpose of his life to protect who look for and up to him. He is confident he can fight till death for his loved ones without any expectations. Whenever ┬аin the battle field, he realizes more and more of his sole purpose in┬аlife-┬аprotection of his loved ones. He seeks to please his loved ones not only by protecting them but by not letting them know that they┬аare safe.
One day, he finds his princess. Both agree to ┬аget together and take part in everyday battle. They now get ready to fight to the extreme, ready to take in cuts and bruises and still carry on with the smile and want to feel victorious each day. Both are willing to rule not the others but their own life. Slowly, a fortress that ┬аthey build is what becomes their territory. They try to maximize their chance of security and confidently feel that they are the ruler no matter what and will protect their kingdom against no matter who.
Yes, you are a warrior and you will be a great one, but some turn out┬аto be┬аa martyr while few of them ┬аrule until old age!
Moral: If you feel like you are fighting an everyday battle, just make sure you know what you are fighting for, or the battle wonтАЩt be very interesting even you've won each one of them.
Cheers!┬а

Outside Saints Inside Beasts, Peace can RIP (Rest in Peace)
That adolescent boy named Sadar has grown older. ┬аAfter passing out from a high school in his hometown, he moves to a city to live alone. He is now more busy with friends than eating oranges. He is trying to make sense and experience real adventure of being in relationship with the people. He joins a college at the heart of the city. Right on the first day of his class he chit chats with the boys their personal info and obviously about girls in their classroom.
Some of his sober friends from the same home town find the fashion of these girls very awkward to resist. But, he is fond of fashion and stuffs that were pleasing on his eyes and so he┬а was fond of the most beautiful girl in the class named Naina. He has height of an average Asian guy, brown colored skin, normal black eyes- a simple groomed lad . While, Naina has suave┬а white-brown colored skin, big round eyes- for poets ready to be written a song, ┬аsmile created dimple in cheeks and opened up her milky teeth and lips like attached two pieces of an orange.
But then, probably the fear of negation from the other side, made him hold all the energy of his youth from taking the risks. He had this false intuition that she had high benchmark for guys to be close to her and probably preferred to hangs out only with city guys. Rather, this girl in fact liked simple sober people and wanted to talk to everyone. Her beauty was outright so other girls regularly poked few boysтАЩ names on. That only instilled very shy nature in her and created a transparent wall for her to talk to any guys in the class. During the break in between classes he starts talking to- what he thinks- his standard type girl named Simpy- simple but bubbly and outgoing. They start sharing and caring in no time. But Simpy, had a secret crush on the most handsome guy of the class.
This guy was appreciated for his looks by everyone. His class mate used to compare him with Leonardo DeCaprio and by co-incidence his name was Leo. ┬аLeo had three girlfriends whom he spent time one after the other and no one knew about that as those girls were out of college friends. He believed he lived his life in ecstasy ┬аin nights but none of them┬а craved to look through him, the real person in him. Other time he tried to make connection with the people. Given his attitude, all the boys in the class perceived that majority of girls in the class idolized for a boyfriend like him, and so he was not able to get any caring person. But that is what he wished for in his college life- to find a caring person. Also he had a bad image among many girls except only for Simpy, who believed could change him.
The ignited fuel in each of these people is raising pressure and each of them┬аhad their own way of opening their pressure valve so they could feel relaxed at least for few moments in a day. Sadar hung out with friends at their room trying new things like drinking for the first time and tutoring his uncleтАЩs son in the evening. Leo worked out hard in gym- sweating out with mixed feelings of frustration of what he does not have with the pride he has. Naina checked out new restaurants with her close fat friend who lived nearby to try new delicacies and checked out on profiles of her facebook friends┬а and refreshed the news feed five times in a minute, to find anything interesting. Simpy spent time doing household works and helped her parents. ┬а
We have desires. Desire for a person or thing┬а is like a fuel tapped within. It is a fuel that burns a person from the inside but when used carefully without fear has potential to do wonders. When one dreams about their desires, s/he does not want that illusion of possession to fade away. ┬аBut, a person gradually by age learns this funny trick of keeping secrets- a lighter to ignite desire. The beast is always awaiting a moment to take birth when the lighter ignites the fuel.
┬а┬а This happened in one instance. Classes chores were in full pursuit to end the year. All these four class mates were storing a beast of energy within but never willing to exhibit it as they sensed it was uncultured. They always acted like saints- sober, shy and humble- as if nothing was going inside. They were all average in studies and could pass easily but energy required to do better in exams was taken away by something seemed culturally unnecessary.
They could see each other every day and after their classes concluded. But then they would come back to their home┬а wondering about their homework in their brain but a burning sensation in their hearts. One day, a beast reveals himself up in all these four characters. Sadar is now closer to Simpy, he thinks Simpy would accept his proposal in case he wanted to take the relationship further. Simpy also liked Sadar and felt he was the only one in her reach and could not take risks of talking to the guy of her dreams.┬а
They are today in a doughnut shop sitting opposite to each other with chairs beside their college building by the road. Suddenly, Sadar sees Naina coming behind from where Simpy is sitting while at the same time Simpy sees Leo behind of Sadar. All of them at the same moment have eyes on each other. That secret lighter ignites the fuel of emotion at the same time in each of them. In that one moment, a blink of an eye moment of looks to each other, the beast reborn and kill the saint. They simultaneously take one long breathe in and ┬аout the ┬аwhile the beast within them spoke simultaneously тАУ тАЬWISHтАЭ!
There is a beast in each of us that may have said or is saying тАЬWISHтАЭ. The main concern only is whether you are in pursuit to live with the beast- full of energy and unconcerned of the results or is that beast burning your ┬аtranquility from the inside. If your yes is to the later, you are the one saying your peace- RIP.
Only if you cared,┬аlisten this.

A Tangy Seduction
An adolescent boy ┬аof sixteen is full of life when all he wants to see is super-action and super-fast. When his emotion is at the peak- a fully laughing, a fully crying and an enormously adventurous creature. But this one boy one day sits at front of an orange on kitchen the table in one cold afternoon and decides to eat it at the slowest pace possible- an adventure that he was not going to forget for a lifetime.
And so he starts for the first time ever. He moves his hand towards the fruit so slowly and patiently as if his hands are traveling the distance of half of the earth to reach it. He feels so desperate but holds himself anyhow. While his hands are moving he gives a look at the orange, a bright silky beautiful orange colour so pleases his eyes that he does not blink once.
Now, his fingers reach to the fruit so near that his eyes cannot see whether his finger touched it. He holds it right there to devour his desperation. His fingers start feeling heavier, he cannot control to touch it but then the game was being slowest as possible. He closes his eyes to see what he was feeling. Somehow, closure of the eyes gave his patience away and he is physically in touch with it. He feels that first touch- a soft smooth touch. For few moments, he feels it. He plays with his finger all around the parts of the fruit. He holds it, moves it very slowly around as if it was to be handled with care and with grace.
Now he is looking all around from top to bottom and left to right of the fruit and also the curvature of its parts. The fruit was in his hand so there was no point of retaliation from the other side. Now, he wants to open it up. He starts from its tip where it is easy to undress the fruit. He elegantly ┬аpresses his palm on its body and with his pointy fingers to start opening it up and see what was inside as if it were the first time.
┬аAs he is taking away its cover, one of his fingers feel the more softer inner of the fruit. His hard sporty hand get a jolt of lightning from so soft thing for the first time. All his fingers from both the hands are now touching the undressed uncovered softer fruit part ready to be gulped. But he was not going to give up on his adventure of making slowest moves as possible. He wanted to watch the fruit for a little while.
He moves around the fruit more gently and feels the uncovered beauty of its curves and ridges and hairy fibers. While he is playing the fruit with its fingers, he is also looking at the two holes- one straight to his eyes at front and the other back.
There was no point in waiting any more than to have it. So, he put his pointed finger in the front hole. He senses a very low sound as if a soft cloth is torn apart almost inaudible but he could feel the tearing with his finger toying with it. With his finger tight inside the fruit, he rips apart a piece from it. One of his hand is all over its body while the other is transporting the part of the fruit to his lips to suck it. His lips touches the piece of orange. Both his lips and the piece fits perfectly. Then he pulls in the tongue a little to give way for the teeth. ┬аHe bits softly and cautiously at the innerтАЩs of the fruit so the juice donтАЩt come out and fall anywhere else but just on his tongue. His hand repeats the process of getting to the middle of the fruit touching the ridges and with the finger in the best-fit position to rip it off.
Hence the boy finishes it off, leaves the kitchen with a promise to try it again when he desired.

A Beautiful Flower Fiction
One morning my eyes, suddenly, stumbled upon ┬аat a white rose on the way to my regular walking lane. Since then, I had been curious about a flowers life which follows like this.
The first morning I found┬а this white rose so marvelous that for a moment I thought to pluck it and keep it in my pocket so it will be with me every moment. You know thoughts of childhood donтАЩt fade easily. Then I decided not to because I have done that before and I knew that the fragrance and beauty wonтАЩt last long. I wanted its beauty to last a little longer. I hold my urges ┬аto pluck it from its body parts and decided to just let it be and watch it every day. So I put myself up for a quest to understand what the beauty in a flower was all about. ┬а
For a week I watched it. First two days, I smelled its fragrance and gaze the beauty of its colour and it just mesmerized my senses. As days passed, slowly I could only see its petals shrinking, its glow diminishing despite the bright sunlight on it, ┬аits scent fading to my nostrils. No more the flower was interesting to me. I started looking for the other flower with different colour. Same process repeated. A wave ┬аof excitement and feeling low never stopped.
Then I started wondering why the feeling of something being beautiful just excites and disappoints? I realized and felt strongly that it was never the flower that played the game or mesmerized me. It was my own perception that was playing with me. The flower revealed how dumb┬а I was watching outside of it. Actually what happened was, ┬аit simply lived its life and did what it was supposed to do. This hit hard to teach me a lesson- beauty lies within. Also, mind is the subject and apart from that everything else is just an object.
Whenever I see a flower these days, I still remember an old hinid song my mother used to sing when we played тАЬantaakchhariтАЭ when I was kid:
тАЬрдЧреЛрд░реЗ рд░рдВрдЧрдкреЗрдирд╛ рдЗрддрдирд╛ рдЧреБрдорд╛рд░ рдХрд░

A perception of shift in political ideology- #Mybeliefnottruth
In twenty first century, the extreme political ideologies- capitalism (the ying) and communism (the yang) - swing when facing with the national issue and its decision making. It is situations that create decision making for extreme communism or capitalism or the middle way. Currently, I guess, the way 21st century leaders think, neither do the absolute communism nor absolute the capitalism in every scenario can solve the social problems and bring out the harmony in current democracies. The application of these ideological tools in politics may act as a medicine or as a poison depending on the issues. And, it is or going to be the main difference that will make or shackle political career of any leader.
On this regard, with the results coming out, I have some suggestions for the parties that have fallen behind, especially UCPN Maoist.
Firstly, the brand name. In marketing, we know the value of a brand name and how carefully companies come up with it. In politics as well, the ideological names may not validate to solving the ground reality if the parties look to address sensitive political issues- like number of states and its representation. People may say what is in a name? However, the way public evaluate is firstly on the basis of the name of the party, especially in the country like ours, where we see how much name impacts when we are not aware of the agenda of political parties. It is different to be named sense and non-sense if you donтАЩt know a person closely. There is always a gap between party and public except for elections.┬а I personally believe, it is about the first impression you get with the name and than the agendas. The parties put forward on the basis of ideologies about a national issue that matters the most. My suggestion would be UCPN Maoist change their name to United Nepal Party.
Secondly, the politics on representation of one ethnic group has proven to be the absolute sarcasm to failure in constitution drafting from the first constitution assembly.┬а The party should realize that we are in the 21s t century. With all the gadget and gizmos in each people hand, people share information and information is power. Where I am coming from is, when young voters almost 20 lakhs have access to this it is an unbeatable force that UCPN neglected. According to CBS Nepal, from 2001 census- it is old data but proportion may work here- the young voters are 51.2% of the total population . This group is economically active population and I believe is negative on politics on differences, for which the parties with the agenda of a single ethnic representation did not consider. People are now aware of rights and responsibilities than ever. So, coming up with name of one ethnic group for one state have been proved to be a very bad plot. There are two extremes on this- no representation of any ethnic group and representation of one ethnic group. Why other parties won was because they chose a middle way, state with representation of multiethnic group- a normal voter sees this as a balanced approach. Normal voter in economically active population sees, harmony among ethnic groups as the only way, and it can only come from representation and co-operation of all and not just one. We are animals with ego, everybody wants something.
Thirdly, there should be a strong commune front in issues like education and health. People do like leaders fighting on providing equal share for each citizen in these basic issues. They should have vowed according to as one of my friends said, building public universities in mid-hill regions, making them a university town, where local public have access to education.┬а This agenda is a long term agenda and a development agenda and agenda for change. This would not start giving fruit now, but if they had thought of 10-15 years of developmental road map down the line, it would have been a viable plot for communist agenda. This agenda would surely have impressed many educated people including youngsters as well as uneducated parents who they vow to represent. This is not a fancy agenda like 10,000 megawatt in 10 years or Switzerland but a ground reality that looks to solve acute social problems. So, when we get a little closer to the issue, the strategy- providing equal opportunity and access to each person- is a commune strategy, while at lower level it can be capitalistic- like, operation of resources and its management.
Thirdly, there should be a change in their political culture. A leader (forgot his name) once said, тАЬWhen it is for the common good, leader is sometime alone, and other times forward with the follower behind.тАЭ It is high time to learn from the losing and respecting how people perceive leaders. Hope, we get more men of knowledge in politics than men of unnecessary pride within. It is not about a citizen choosing a specific party, which is idealism, rather the 21 century political culture as I believe, is all about leadership being ┬аsensed from agendas relevant to time and situation and character of a leader. If a leader can create brand value or put up an ideal mask of a cultured being in addition to best fit agendas, s/he will certainly win elections. I hope leaders do realize this fact of marketing and instead of blaming and come up with strategy for continuous improvements. Concerned citizens always embrace good work and not cynicism.
So, are the leaders going to change the course with time, provided if the objective is to be in power by winning elections within democratic norms? I hope both the parties (UCPN and CPN) see peace process is winning than their own temporary downfall. Rise today and everyone will ultimately rise with you.
Cheers!

Hiking Lesson 1
Ascending to the top is not easy neither is descending to the bottom. Is this what life is all about? The game of pulling it off no matter how hard it might be? Or, is it realizing the game itself? Or both?
While ascending today, for a moment I thought I should stop marching to the top because first- I was not able to catch my breath and second- I already had surpassed yesterday's walking distance. I was taking some quick breaks. I wanted to ask some passer by how far the top was but I avoided to because I thought if I did, that would really not make value. I wanted that element of surprise and kept marching. Life is just about dealing with the unknown and when you have dealt with it without other's experience on you, it does two things- you have no fear of walking the path again coz' you did it yourself and now you know you can DIY hence free.
Life is understood well when you walk the path leaving perceptions and thoughts that others put in to you. Keep walking, surprises are always waiting there to welcome.
By the way this is what ┬аI got at the top of the hill park. Walk and you will feel good no matter what┬а:D.
