A Family – A Bond That Last Forever, Amazing Train Journey
With globalization the biggest victim has been the family unit as a whole. In India, culturally and traditionally we have always believed in living in joint families with two and three generations co-existing and co-habituating together in love and harmony but with globalization the family unit suffered as the younger generations starting exploring other parts of the country and the world for better livelihood and career opportunities. So it was with great delight I accept an invitation for a family function in Jaunpur.
Family reunions are always a fun filled affair that I look forward to with eagerness. It gives me an opportunity to meet up with my extended family members and to experience a bond of trust and love that only your family can give and share.
The process of booking tickets on the best train
Hence with eagerness I went online to check on a travel portal for train tickets to Jaunpur Railway Station from Allahabad where I was living for some years. I booked on the Chhapra Express 11059 because the timing suited my purpose. Chhapra Express leaves around 10.30am from Allahabad station so I can reach the station without any problem in the morning and it arrives in Jaunpur Railway Station around 1pm – just in time for lunch!

Temples of interest are Shiv temple, Hanuman temple, Ma Sheeta Chaukiya Devi and many more. All this is written on one of the information panels in the Jaunpur Railway Station for the visitors like me.

Train journey of leisure from Allahabad to Jaunpur on the Chhapra Express 11059
The journey of Chhapra Express 11059itself is not long. It takes about 2 hours 30 minutes. In fact if I had taken a cab it would have been faster but since I am an avid train traveler and I just love the simplicity of a train journey. The sound of the chugging of the engine as it pulls the train is hypnotic and lulls me into a serene and calm state. To watch as the train passes green fields and rivers flowing by is a therapy for tired city folks.
Enjoying the ‘chai’ in a matka on the train is a tradition for most of us. Getting down at different railway stations and platforms to stretch your legs and to buy something toeat has an old world charm that no modern technology can replace. So I settled into my seat to enjoy my train journey and just hit the pause button on the spinning world of hi-tech gadgets and instant gratifications and the constant hunger of humanity for all things modern and high speed.
This is life at its best for me but for just a moment in time as I refresh and rejuvenate to face the reality of life in the 21st century.

This Was My First Educational Trip from the College and I Was On My Way to Kolkata
I had joined the college as a lecturer, last year. Thus, I was among the junior most faculties in the college. I knew that the college gives chance to senior faculties to attend education camps in different parts of India. Out of nowhere, I was given the chance to join the education camp from my college, instead of senior faculties. Actually, they had an important accreditation in the college and thus they wanted all the senior faculties to be present. This gave me a wonderful chance to get a new experience.

Bbs Jan Shatabdi (12074) was my first choice of train because of its time While choosing the train, I was mainly concerned with the Train Times as the time of travel was reasonably same. I chose Bbs Jan Shatabdi particularly because it was in the morning neither too early nor too late. The Indian Botanical Garden in Kolkata was among the amazing places that I visited I was excited to be in Kolkata and knew that there were some special places to visit in the city. However, my trip was part of the education camp and thus I had no choice over the places that I would be visiting. I was just hoping to get a chance to visit at least the Botanical Garden and my wish was fulfilled.

The Indian Botanical Garden: There were not a lot of things to see in the Indian Botanical Garden but I had come to see just that one thing that I have heard of so much. It was the giant Banyan Tree. There were a few ponds and one of them had the giant water lilies from Amazon which was truly amazing. The garden feels more like a forest full of greenery. Gadiara: Gadiara was a little village close to Kolkata. It was also a part of the camp and I was wondering what was so special about the village. I arrived at the village in the afternoon and came to know that it was a special beautiful picnic spot. The most special thing about the spot was that it was fusion spot of three rivers: the Hoogli, the Rupnarayan and the Damodar. Santragachi Jheel Howrah: The lake was just a few km from the main city of Kolkata. I had learned that it was a nice place for bird watching as many beautiful birds come from different part of the world. However, the first sight of the place was a bit disappointing. There was so much construction that the natural beauty of the lake was almost gone. Also, I did not find too many birds. Centaur Hotel was a pretty basic hotel but it had the right price range that I wanted I stayed just for a couple of days in Kolkata and most of the time I was spending with the complete team on the education camp. Thus, I was happy to choose a basic hotel with low cost. Centaur Hotel was just a perfect fit into my budget. The rooms, however, should have been better even though it was a 2-Star Hotel.

A Short Yet Interesting Trip to Chennai On Spicejet!
Attending dental care seminars is a very important part of gaining more and more knowledge from renowned doctors who are pioneers in this field. So I was also invited to be a part of one such seminar where I also could share some of experience with other doctors and also learn from them as well. So with a lot of expectations and happiness I travelled to Chennai and I did learn a lot. But as everything has to start somewhere, this trip started one month before when I got the invitation letter. Sounds weird right, but let me explain clearly so that you understand better.

When I said it started a month in advance I meant I started planning for the journey before one month of the seminar. I am not one of those people who will wait till the last moment to book tickets and then make mistakes and spend more. There was a good choice for me in between the economy class tickets and the business class tickets as the rates were somewhat near. But then I thought why waste money on buying a business class ticket when I am just travelling alone so I quickly booked for economy class ticket. At the Chennai airport- my review! I had called the cab 40 minutes after the landing time thinking in case there is a delay in flight but there was no delay and I landed on time. So all I could do was take a look at the facilities at the Chennai Airport. This is one of the top 10 busiest airports in the country both in terms of passenger transit and cargo handling. I also found out some duty free shops here where I could buy snacks at very cheap rates and the massive structure of the beautiful airport just mesmerised me. With over 45 flights landing and taking off every hour, this airport is really a man-made marvel I would say which is just beside the very famous St Thomas Mount. Amazing stay at Chennai!
