my grandma likes the life series. i accidentally got her into it with my efforts to get my brother into it. so far she’s halfway through joel’s limited life and down lizzie’s wild life. a few things,
1. her favorite mcyt is jimmy. she has many-a-times ‘oh jimmy, bless his heart.’
2. she keeps confusing lizzie’s husband. “is that her husband?” “no, that’s martin. her husband is joel.”
3. she keeps calling grian ‘brian.’

despite what popular opinion may lead you to believe, some rocks actually do have scientifically-proven auras! Unfortunately, those rocks are uranium and the aura is cancer.

animation being treated like a genre instead of a medium is something that actually makes me go insane. beauty and the beast is a romance. the emperor's new groove is a buddy comedy. big hero 6 is a superhero movie. moana is an adventure film. the lion king is a drama. treasure planet is sci-fi. if i was talking to someone who hadn't seen these movies before, and they weren't specifically interested in animation as a medium, then i wouldn't necessarily assume they'd enjoy all of these. and that's just disney movies! try telling an anime fan that fruits basket and fullmetal alchemist are the same genre and see how they react!

fuck you guys this post is awesome/lh
(posted this in the comment section of s3 ep2 but I'm also posting it here bc I want to)
ok thinking about who "the oldest living demi-human alive" (I'm just gonna call them tolda for short for the purposes of this post) could be and we know that in season one endy was super adamant about how she refused to get attached to steve, and its just kinda implied that that's just how demons are sometimes, but what if it was because of ✨trauma✨
what if, at some point, she and tolda has been super close, maybe friends, maybe more. endy got super attached to them and really liked having them around. then at one point, tolda did something that hurt her, really, really bad. some kind of big betrayal. I don't know exactly what kind of betrayal, but it would be big and super emotionally scarring. endy doesn't like to talk about tolda, because she has developed 0 healthy coping mechanisms ever in her life (because demon).
and thats part of why she doesn't want to get attached to steve in season 1. because last time she got attached to someone like that, she got hurt. maybe steve even reminds her of tolda is some ways, making it even more painful when she does get attached, and in episode 4 when steve goes all evil and they have to kill him, she gets hurt again. how would she ever recover?
idk it would be super angsty is essentially what I'm saying.
also maybe her experience with tolda is part of why she killed withy in the first place? like there were definitely other factors at play, but maybe she also felt herself getting a little too close, caring a little too much, and didn't want to let herself be hurt again. just a thought.
