Reinhardt was touched that Prompto considered him as someone he cared about. This boy was too kind-hearted for the hellish past he had to endure. Reinhardt knew that he had to keep an extra close eye on the boy…to make sure no one was giving him a hard time.
Remembering the promise of food, “Oh yes! The feast of hamburgers! There is an eatery that has the best burgers in the area…and I am not biased in any shape or form,” he ended his statement with a wink, trying to be the “funny guy.”
Grabbing his car keys, Reinhardt motioned Prompto to follow him, “Come now Mr. Prompto! It is time to to, how you say, ‘pig out’?” This new age lingo was starting to be tiresome to translate.
Prompto could not help but laugh despite the serious atmosphere they had both been in. He followed his professor out of his office and started walking towards the parking lot. “Pig out” There was just a way that he worded it that it was so hilarious. It might have been from the stress of talking about himself way to much but ultimately Prompto, despite everything loves life.
“That is about right pigging out, that it, now the ultimate question what do you consider to be the best thing to drink with a burger? I always go between a beer and a nice glass of Coke.” He was not kidding this was an essential question he had to ask.
He felt this rush of relieve when he went out the door and the cool night air cooled his face. It was a great feeling. Very up lifting to the point that his normal smile was back.

Lapis was starting to get tired of being there. The grass was itchy, which forced her to constantly change position, but none was comfortable. Not even the conversation was making it better, even though she loved talking about photography and art in general. The best thing she could do was bear with it for a while longer and find a way to leave later.
“Well, I used to take photos of gold fish, yes. A thing I really like doing is going to a river or the sea and photographing what you can see from the outside. It can give some nice effects, because of the water’s movement and the light, and all.”
Getting up, she put her camera back on her neck. “How about we find some other spot? This seems to have given all it has.” She tried being as nice as possible, not to make it seem that she didn’t want to be there. She simply thought a change in scenery was much needed.
Prompto could only imagine the beautiful shots Lapis has captured. They were probably amazing. He rose off the ground but not before a dandelion hit his nose and he sneezed the fluffy everywhere.
“Excuse me” He could not help but chuckle. Once he was standing he offered her a hand up off the grass.
“I agree where else should we go? Any good ideas?” He said with a smile.
Prompto was up for any suggestion his partner had. They made a pretty good team finding these great shots. He stretched his arms feeling them move back in proper place.

Photography Class -Kirishima and Prompto
starter @unbreakablestone
Prompto walked into class and noticed someone was sitting in his normal seat when he arrived. They were well into the semester so the fact that someone sat somewhere else There were a few other seats so after he stood surprised for a short moment he turn to sit next to a guy with shocking red head. Their hair was standing straight up. He walked forward and sat at the table. They still had some time before class started.
“Hi man sorry to bother you but my chair was taken, do you mind if I sit?”

Reinhardt stared at Prompto; this was new. Sure, there were parents at graduations that would ask for a picture between student and professor, but student asking for a picture? That was different, but welcomed.
“Is this what you young people call a ‘selfie’?”
This new generation and their new lingo always confused him, but gave his students immense pleasure to explain how a certain letter from a certain individual was a “shitpost” or how the Persian empire was a “meme” now. It was tiring, but, it kept him close to his students.
Smiling at the boy, “Sure Young Prompto! I will gladly take a photo with you!”
Prompto smiled at the semi flustered teacher.
“Well...yeah I guess it would be but likely the selfie actually has a lot of history and art influence the name is just new. But yeah I like to take pictures with people I care about.” he said with a smile as he picked up his camera and adjusted it so he could close to his prof and take a picture. He stood next to Dr. W and smiled and clicked the button.
He looked at the camera and smiled it looked pretty good.
“Okay professor where are we going?”

“Thanks!” Her smile was much wider than the previous ones. She looked around a bit more while he was looking at her camera, wondering about how their assignment would turn out.
“I love it too. It’s always so peaceful. That’s why I like taking pictures of underwater creatures even more. It’s just you and the silence, along with the water movements.” She closed her eyes while talking. The only thing more peaceful than animal photography was talking about it. Lapis hoped to be able to travel more, since she was so busy with school. It was good to be in the same place, but travelling was much more relaxing.
She looked at him, then up. “How should we put these together later? Since we already have some nice shots, we should at least have some kind of outline.”
Prompto in his new perspective on life was not really getting anywhere. Although the grass that was trying to sneak up his nose definitely had a much bigger presence in his life then when they were just brushing his boots. At the mention of water creatures he immediately thought of the fishing trips he has gone on with his friends.
“Do you mean like gold fish or some other kind of critter?” He asked as he sat up from the tickling blades. giving up on the pure genius that was the close up of a pebble.
Then he pulled his camera of his neck and propped it up his knee as he looked at the pictures for their project.

A huge smile formed on Reinhardt’s face, figurative light shining through the grin.
“Oh dear boy, it is my job as an educator…and as a decent man to show the younger generation that there are good, honest people that will be there to help you.”
Reaching down, he hugged the boy again, squeezing a little harder than usual. Rein is a hugger, and a fluffy one at that. Moving back behind his desk, he grabbed his light jacket, and moved to the door, motioning Prompto to join in.
Flashing a sly grin at Prompto, “I believe that there’s a great hamburger eatery near campus, and as your new role model, I’m going to treat you to a good meal, no buts.”
Prompto was not prepared for yet another hug but he did not fight it. Even in lecture Dr. W was a person that you had to go with the flow with but in a good way. Prompto felt a smile form on his face again but there was no more hesitation. Then Dr. W got his coat and walked to the door.
“Oh yeah that would be great!” He said as he quickly followed his teacher.
“Oh I have a quick question would you take a picture with me. You see I don’t remember if I told you but I’m a photography major so it is a habit of mine to take pictures of important ...things.

“Tsk.” Lapis smiled at Prompto’s comment. She was glad he liked her shot, but his joke was almost like a declaration of war. She looked around to make sure she’d take the best shots of any possible subjects before he did. “I don’t plan on losing against you either.” Suddenly, it went from working on an assignment to a competition. And yet, it ended as quickly as it started. Seeing Prompto’s new shots, she decided to let the battle go. ‘If you can’t beat them, join them.’ She shrugged.
“I like that it looks like she’s being pushed by the wind. If we edit out that bit of the swing in the corner, it could look pretty amazing.” The shot was perfect as it was, but she tried to give a bit of her own insight on it. One could really see that he had talent for it. Lapis still refused to back down, though.
Looking around, she focused on a group of birds on a tree. She was lucky enough that a few loud people were walking over to that same tree. As they approached it, the birds started flying away. Their fast movements looked interesting enough for her to take a photo. She looked over at her partner, showing him the shot without saying anything.
At the suggestion Lapis made he Prompto looked back at the camera. He could definitely see that. It would be simple enough to just save multiple versions and see how that would look. He could tell she was more determined then before which was nice. She was not acting as shy. She took a quick shot and showed her camera.
“Oh that is sweet! I love how you focused that one.” He smiled looking at the photo of the sparrow.
“I love animal photography, that is actually what I plan on doing. Nature photography where you stay outdoors for days and take pictures of animals and amazing places.” Prompto thought back to the travels he did not to long ago with his friends before they parted ways. The memory brought a smile to his face. He turned and looked around at everything. Hmmm. He lied down in the grass first looking this way then that taking a few not to bad tree pictures but more looking for a different perspective.

Prompto had finished putting up some of the photography work that he did for the photograph section of the art club. He took a step back to make sure it was straight. Hmm it looked pretty good. He was content with that. It was around then that he felt a tap at his shoulder. He turned around to see who wanted his attention, who knows they may want information on the art club.
Prompto was surprised to see the large man behind him who immediately asked him about football. Prompto was not unfamiliar with sports as he actually played them quiet often. Prompto thought of his scheduled and there was definitely plenty of room.
“I do not see why not. I definitely do a lot of running, I would not be the best for tackling though. “ He commented thinking of the positions he might be good at.
“Is there try outs soon?”
Questionable | Prompto & Gaston
@randomcameradude
All around the campus were sign ups for different sports and club activities. The male having being part of the football team decided to help out with getting more students to sign up to the sport. Gaston kept his eyes out for an potential teammate, giving out flyers here and there and letting others write their names up.
Things were going great until he strolled across the art club booth. He eyed the paintings and other artistic things it had. They sure where talented, which he wondered if they had talents else where. When he looked up he saw a blond male and tapped his shoulder.
“Excuse me, how would you like to join the football team.” He held out a flyer to him. “You look like the type to enjoy the sport so why not join?” He subconsciously puffed his chest.
“I’m sure you’ll be of great value to the team.”

golden-lionheart:
Reinhardt listened to Prompto’s life story. “Science equipment”? Reinhardt didn’t want to think what that horrible man did to so many children. What was so off-kilter that he could do what he did…Rein was furious. As a man of honor and valor, to see such a kind boy experience such a horrible past…it made him want to protect him.
Father figures were something that he had growing up: to be “man,” you had to be a father. You had to be someone who was a shield, and who was a provider. Reinhardt had such lessons drilled into his soul, and it made said soul burn with rage when men do such things.
“Prompto…I can’t promise to be the perfect role model…but I want to show you that there are men in this world that are horrible father figures…”
At this point, he didn’t care if he was being too forward with Prompto, it was his Crusader blood taking over.
Prompto brushed his hand through his hair in thought as he had finished explaining the bare minimum. Dr. W. was an intelligent person he could read between the lines and it seemed that he quickly reached what had transpired. After all he was tired of focusing on it so much, he was done being depressed. He could not ignore it though as that was just as bad. He had this worry though, that with a lack of consistent father figure he would end up just like them. Well not the whole going to jail part but that was probably assumed. He wanted a family eventually but what if he was going to end up just as useless? There would be no point.
His train of thought derailed as Dr. W spoke again. Though he was not exactly sure what he meant the fact that after everything he said but prof did not look at him scared, or appalled, well he did look appalled but at his situation not him. Once again Prompto could not help the hope form.
“Thank you Dr. W although I am not exactly sure what you mean I...appreciate it more then you can know.”

Reinhardt’s stomach grew cold at Prompto’s words…and then froze at what he saw on the boy’s wrist. He would never have thought that he would see something like that again. While he wasn’t alive during World War Two…he was born in Germany, and the Third Reich and its practices were very much discussed and shamed: the chambers, the camps…and the branding.
Looking down at the tattoo, “…my poor boy, I’m so sorry. What horrible monster did this to you?”
He was angry. He was actually furious at what this tattoo could have meant. Some monster marked this innocent boy like some kind of cattle for slaughter. This is the type of “parenting” that made Reinhardt wish that assault against these type of people wasn’t illegal…it disgusted him greatly.
Looking at Prompto, “Again, you don’t have to answer any of my questions Prompto…I just want to make sure that you…you’re doing well.”
“I left my biological father’s care as a baby but apparently he had a lot of children and science equipment, I have no idea what the barcode was for but I do not intend to go to the jail just yet to ask him.” Prompto did not look at his teacher but rather at the very clear tan lines that covered the twisted two inches blur of ink from the years of covering it with wrist bands and gloves. They were probably permanent but that was okay to him. He could not help but imagine how big it looked on a much smaller wrist.
“sorry to dump all of this on you, I found out only recently who he really was ...I-I guess I just wanted to tell someone. He was up for bail recently which, is why I found out, the last time I was too young to even know my name properly let alone remember what was going on. One look at this and the judge extended his sentence significantly. It will be doubtful he could get out soon, I think the next bail trial is when his is 103 and he is currently 53. I doubt he will see outside a cement wall anymore. He kind of looked like an Alice Cooper that got punched in the face mixed with an evil Gandalf.” He slid the wrist band back on awkwardly chuckling at the weirdly accurate description he gave of his troubled biological “father”.
“ultimately I just need to get my head back in a good place. I have already been through my whole identity crisis, traveled for a while and worked some then took some community college courses. Now I just have to get use to the... just ...I don’t know get over this fucking awful father figures thing. “

When they got to the hill, Lapis started looking around, looking for good points and subjects. The view could do for some good pictures, but they’d have to get good focal points first.
“Yeah, sounds good. Let’s get to work.” Taking off her bag, she got her camera and started focusing. She took a few pictures of birds, but it didn’t set the mood too well. She had to find something else quickly.
She took a quick glance at Prompto’s camera once he’d taken the shot. “Yeah, nothing really seems to fit the theme too well…” She sighed, wondering where else they could go.
But not too long after, there was something that caught her attention. There were a few leaves flying around, which she’d caught when taking the photo of the birds, but there was what seemed to be a paper plane as well. It wasn’t in the best condition, but the girl sitting down a few meters behind them seemed to indicate it had been thrown recently.
Determined, Lapis raised her camera and got a few shots of the plane. She tried different angles, but most of the shots ended up looking the same. Still, she believed it could be of help, somehow.
“Hey, what do you think of this?” She asked, showing him one of the better looking sots.
Prompto who had been looking around for good shots through his camera looked up as Lapis called him excitedly. He looked over her shoulder to see the shot on display on her camera screen, It was a slightly used paper airplane. Simple but it had a lot of charm to it.
“I like it, I better get some shots myself so I don;t lose to you.” He said with a smile as now he was pumped to get something good. After all he has to back up the advice he had given her. He knelt down and looked around some more. Then he saw a young girl sit down on the swing normally he would just turn away what with her being so young, around 8 maybe but she was not looking at him so her face was not in the shot. She kept swinging higher and higher gaining momentum them she let go and started flying. He took several shots as she gracefully landed on the ground. A woman with salt and pepper hair running towards. He could not hear what she said but she was probably worried about her.
“Hey Lapis anything in these seem of interest?” He asked shifting so the short girl could see the screen.

Prompto readjusted his backpack and leaned his skateboard against the wall as he unlocked his room. He was suppose to have his new roommate move in today. He wondered what he would be like? He felt bad he could not go and meet him when he got here but he had class. As he pulled the chain wallet out of his pocket and used the key to unlock the door he saw someone standing in the room contemplating the space around him.
He picked the skateboard up and put it inside then stepped inside.
“Hey dude I’m Prompto how was you way here?” He asked as he took his bag and set it on his desk. Then carefully pulled the camera from around his neck and set it next to the other two on the desk.
“Is there anything I can help you with?” He asked with a smile.
Five and One Hundred | Ramza & Prompto
@randomcameradude liked for a starter |
“Five and one hundred,” he repeated to himself, wheeling a cart of belongings along a hallway and in front of a door. “105, this ought to be it.”
Ramza unlocked his new room, entering and finding the furniture as described, naturally with a bunch of other things already in the room.
“Prompto?” he asked, and finding no response, he moved his things out and in, giving his sister a hug and a kiss on her cheek before sending her away. “I promise I can set my things on my own. Give father my love, and call me when you get home?”
Another hug, and she was gone, handling all that needed handling. Ramza set to work then, putting away clothes, making his bed, lining books where he could find space for them, and planning to hang a few things on the walls. DUring this flurry of movement, though careful and planned out, Ramza placed his journal on his desk, bound in plain brown leather with a seal like scorch marks on the front, a lock strapping the thing together. Various other unorganized personal items et cetera were strewn over the desk or resting on his bed. He’d need to remake that.
And then, while contemplating how best to arrange wall decorations, a someone came across the room, door unlocking and opening. Ramza turned, facing the stranger.
“You must be Prompto,” he said with a smile, stepping forward with an outstretched hand. “I am Ramza. Please excuse the mess, I promise I will be all set up in no time at all.”

golden-lionheart:
Reinhardt listened to every work that the boy said. It sounded like a very lonely childhood. To have no parents at home, to talk to you, to say that they love you, to have a meal cooked by your mother…it sounded as if he was independent at an early age.
“I…I’m so sorry that your childhood was so…empty…”
Reinhardt was a very physical person, and he was usually very cautious when being physical with students, both with his strength and to not make them uncomfortable…but this one the one exception.
He hugged Prompto.
“My dear boy…you will always have someone to be there for you Prompto…to have an adult that will give you the time and support that you deserve.”
He didn’t quite know if it was politically correct for him to be saying this to a student, or that he was being too forward or too emotionally charged…but to hear one of his students’ childhood be so cold and empty…just killed him.
“I know that I shouldn’t be asking this…and you can refuse to answer it, and since you’re an adult now, I’m not required to report it…but did your father…mistreat you?”
He didn’t want to say it outright…but he was hoping that Prompto was picking up his double meaning.
Prompto froze when his large statured teacher hugged him. He always suspected the giant of a man was a teddy bear at heart but this truly proved it. The hug was very warm and comforting, he almost felt like a warming marshmallow.
Prompto’s eyes widened at Dr. W’s suggestion.
“...he would have to be around to do that...” He said slightly muffled by the embrace but he knew Dr. W could understand him. He carefully left the warm embrace to loo at his past teacher for a second. Should he tell him? Prompto could not explain it but maybe the feeling of needing to tell someone made him take a deep breath and move his arm with the wrist band front and center.
“At least my adoptive dad never did, the one I was on the phone with, but my biological dad...” He paused for a second. Come on it was like a band-aid just do it quickly and it wont matter anymore. He took the band off the reveal the jagged and warped tattoo on his wrist. The letters had stretched out as he grew older the symbols, lines, and numbers of the barcode almost unreadable however he had everything memorized anyway.

Reinhardt was thankful that Mr. Argentum shared what was bothering him…but he had a feeling that he wasn’t sharing his true feelings. Hearing him call himself “immature,” and that he should be “used to it”….just made him hurt even more. And the fake smile just drove a knife through his already bleeding heart.
Moving over, and sitting down next to the young man, Reinhardt put a hand on his shoulder.
“You…don’t have to lie to me Mr Argentum, this is a safe place for you. You can, as you kids say, ‘let it all out.’ And you’re not bothering me Mr. Argentum, I wanted to talk to you about this…to let you know that there are adults out there that care about your well being…”
He squeezed the boy’s shoulder, close to hugging the poor boy. He didn’t know if he worded his worries correctly, but he had a feeling that his message was conveyed.
Dr. W’s heavy hand rested on his shoulder the only thing that kept him from popping out of the chair running full speed. It was the first time the fake smile did not work. And he knew it was not very good but most people just did not care. Yet here was a man sitting right next to him ready to hear everything he had to say. He had a strange sensation in his chest as if a ghostly hand was slowly closing around his heart causing his smile to fade into the true somber face. He nodded at the teachers words. Adults caring? Sure, right. He doubted it but he could not help but wish the words to be true. Despite it being the same thing that got him here in the first place, he will just never learn. I’m such an idiot he thought but could not help the words coming from his mouth.
“Well I have not had a real two way conversation in so long, I honestly can’t remember and the last time I saw him face to face...” He just sighed thinking of the painfully conversation that had ensued recently if he did not have dad problems already.
“Ever since I can remember my parents have been always on the go, leaving me to my own devices during the day. I was who got myself ready in the morning to get to school, the one who would go get groceries, the one who ate at home.” Prompto just shook his head as the melancholy thoughts swirled around this head he quickly blinked his eyes as they started to feel fuzzy. He felt his hand close around the wrist band on his wrist.

Reinhardt’s heart broke for the boy. He was such a ray of sunshine during his time as Rein’s student, that seeing him down like this. Motioning Prompto to sit in the chair across from his desk. Sitting down, Reinhardt leaned back in his chair, trying to not just hug the poor boy.
“…are you okay, Mr. Argentum? I know that you’re not in any of my classes this semester, but seeing you so…disheartened is concerning. I…overheard your conversation with, whom I believe is your father? …is everything okay? Do you need to talk to someone?”
Reinhardt leaned forward, keeping eye contact with Mr. Argentum. He hasn’t had to talk to a student like this in years…but it’s necessary.
“No... it is fine Dr. W well I did not realize I was near your door.” Prompto was honestly surprised that one of his favorite profs had been the door he leaned near. He felt a lot of embarrassment at the idea.
“Yeah it was my father, he is well both my parents tend to be gone often. They both work often and go on business trips and such, so I do not see them often and when my father told me he would be close by and promised to see me well I guess I got carried away... I should be used to it by now.” He paused realizing that he felt like a water faucet if he kept going he would not be able to stop. He looked up at the kind mans face though, it was the look in his eyes that caused Prompto to make a decision.
“I guess the idea of having an actual meal with him just made me happy. Sorry to bother you Dr. it is like he always said I’m just too immature to see what he does for me.” Prompto gave a smile smile to, to go back into what the prof said, a ray of sunshine? It was a pretty good description after all. Besides his prof probably had a lot to do none of which, Prompto had a right to disturb.
“I’m Fine.” He forced his smile a little bigger ignoring the closing of his throat.

As they were slowly approaching the park, Lapis grabbed her camera and looked around while still walking. Her eyes widened when Prompto got a tennis ball out of his pocket to take a picture of a dog nearby. He took the saying ‘a photographer has to always be prepared’ really seriously.
“Wow.” She slowly nodded as he got back to their path. Arriving at the park, she snapped some photos of a group of ducks playing around in a pond, along with one other picture of children playing around a small bed of flowers. Conveniently, their backs were facing the lens, so it wouldn’t be necessary to blur them out or cut them. She let the smells of people’s food and the nature around them soak in before getting back to Prompto.
“Ok! So, maybe we can get to a taller area somewhere and get some shots from above?” Their assignment was starting to get more and more fun.
When Lapis said wow at him taking the dogs picture he smiled but kept walking determined.
He nodded at the idea of higher ground he looked over at a steady hill that was on one side of the park it would probably be a great place for sledding when there was snow on the ground. But that was several months away.
“Here would be a good place” he said and went forward up the hill. As he went up he made a mental note that it would be a good place to run in the future. At the moment he just does it on campus but the park was full of possibilities.
Once he was at the top he had a good view of most of the park. There was a swing set of children going into the air. Some people running down the walk way. A man pushing a stroller, along with a good view of the trees and flowers. He got his camera out and put on the zoom. He took a quick shot of a girl on the swing who was looking away. He caught it in time from some of her long hair to be lifting up slightly before gravity brought it back down.
“Hmmm good shot but it does not say “wind” to me.” He said in contemplation looking for other inspiration.
