Sorry for neglecting this blog, I’ll try and do an art dump soon with stuff I’ve done since I last posted. Anyway here’s a loose fan-art sketch I did a few days ago of Tracer who is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters from Overwatch (though, a lot of them are pretty great)

I do have a partly coloured version I hope to upload soon, however the day after I did this pic I managed to lie awkwardly on my drawing arm in the night and rather than risk hurting it more I’ve had to resist the urge to do more on it.

It’s funny, part of me thinks I should find her cockney stereotype accent annoying as an American British stereotype but it actually really works for her. Besides many of the characters play off stereotypes so it’s all good.

Looking forward to playing Overwatch when it’s out!

A picture I drew for the birthday of someone very dear to me who (can you guess who?) Further refinement

Thought I'd share some further refinement I've done on my Templar Kerrigan concept. I hit a brick wall for a bit but got through it eventually. The main things are I decided to ditch the arm blades as they were unnecessary noise and a bit clunky in addition to the wing blades so I now imagine it as being she has gauntlets that help her channel her psionic abilities and control the wing blades, in addition psionically manipulated wing blades helps to counter her height disadvantage compared to a Protoss combatant. Other than that I made her headdress, crown, THING a bit more ornate and also evoke her Zerg hair a little and just generally cleaned up/tweaked other parts of her design. I really think I'm approaching a stage where I'll be done with her design and I can have a go at moving on to colouring and/or painting her properly.

Trying to ease myself back into my tablet after an infection that still seems to be lingering, bleh. So anyway, here's a ponydoodle of Rarity!

So I've had this idea for a while of mashing up video game characters and their universes.

So using Samus here as an example what if she was a native of the Kingdom of Hyrule? So I'm imagining her as a sort of Knight for hire who's main weapon is an enchanted gauntlet able to conjure and launch spiked balls (possibly attached by a chain, kinda like that one weapon from Twilight Princess)

I've not given the backstory a massive amount of thought, for one I'm not super knowledgable on Metroid lore, but here's a doodle none the less ^_^ I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and suggestions for future mashups!

Sooo I decided to have a go at drawing the avatar I use on my main account (xaran-alamas.tumblr.com) which is a screenshot from MLP of Apple Bloom freaking out. I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out ^_^

So I fixed the issue of the floating boulder in my Rule 63 Goron Link and I also made an alternate version wearing the Goron Tunic because why not? :D

Bit of an update on my Protoss Kerrigan pic. I fixed some issues with the linework as well as redoing her hair so it's a little less all over the place. I also did a quick and dirty rough colour study to get an idea of a palette.

WHAT NECROMANCY IS THIS?!

Yes I have actual new art to put up here! Inspired by Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm and my own love of What If? and alternate universes I present to you Sarah Kerrigan - Queen of Psi-Blades. In another timeline Sarah Kerrigan was abandoned on Tarsonis by those she called friends and allies. Before the Zerg Swarm fell upon her salvation came from an unexpected source: The Protoss Executor Tassadar. The Templar had had an enigmatic vision that the Terran Sarah Kerrigan had a great destiny before her and believed that it to be the will of the Khala that she be trained in the ways of the Templar.

That's the short version anyway. I still need to write it up. Basically I imagined what if instead of being infested by the Zerg at Tarsonis she had been rescued and trained by the Protoss. Obviously, not being a Protoss herself she can't access the Khala but with Tassadar's assistance she was able to unlock her full psionic potential.

It was a fun challenge designing her Protoss armor and finding ways to incorporate elements familiar from her Zerg and Terran designs, such as the psionically controlled Psi-blade 'wings' as well as her (non Zergy) hair which I imagine being bound in a style similar to Protoss nerve bundles. Unlike her Protoss compatriots however she doesn't have large amounts of exposed skin and wears a jumpsuit/undershirt similar to her Ghost environment suit.
