sometimes i think abt in the doctor the widow and the wardrobe when the doctor remarks that crying from happiness is such a silly idiosyncratic little human thing, and then when amy and rory and river welcome him back and make him join them for dinner he realizes hes happy crying

The fact Amy and Rory set a place for the Doctor every Christmas gets me, because now I think about them setting a place for River too and hoping she would come for Christmas, even after when the Weeping Angels sent them back in time.

And now I am also thinking, just how many other companions out there do the same thing? All setting a place at the table for the Doctor on their celebrated holidays, hoping they’ll come.

in an unearthly child susan says to ian and barbara that that was the first time the tardis had gotten stuck looking like that BUT we saw ruth!doc’s tardis was a police box too so that just implies that the tardis' chameleon circuit has been fixed several times and she keeps breaking it on purpose because she likes it that way

To recap, River has just finished saying:

“The Doctor is not stupid enough or sentimental enough, and he is certainly not in love enough to find himself standing in it with me!”

And then River pauses to take a breath and is suddenly

very aware.

Of someone

stupid enough

standing next to her.

You can see the moment River begins to have an inkling.

As Twelve continues to look at River with all the love and sentiment River claimed the Doctor never had for her.

And the penny drops…

And I’m just – look at how steady Twelve is, how comfortable he is in standing still and being seen.

River is for a micro second, still trying to grasp as

Twelve says, softly, with all the love in his hearts, “Hello, sweetie.”

This is the greatest and sweetest endearment callback that started decades back and circling into this earned, affectionate moment.

Seriously, the most romantic moment in all of Modern Who I’ve seen and still standing number 1 to this day.

Not gonna lie still thinking about the absolute bomb that was the Doctor Who episode where they reveal that the TARDIS requires like eight or something people to pilot and that’s why the Doctor looks ridiculous when he flies it… like.. that was SO simple and yet SUCH a good way to instantly convey so much loneliness… like bro.. bro it requires a family… a whole bunch of people… but they just fly alone and make do…
