It was in August 2012, when for the first time in my life I visited Srinagar. I was received at TRC sumo stand by one of my friends from Ellahi Bagh. He gave me asylum in his home. I was blushing Infront of his family members and relative. Though I am from outside Kashmir jurisdiction but I received a warm welcome there. At 10 we had supper followed by dessert. Candidly speaking that was really an awesome experience and I have dearth of vocabs to explain hospitality, the Kashmiri are known for.

We planned to visit Dal Lake, the next day. I was in full zing and impatiently waiting to see Dal Lake because I had many queries about the entity of holy Dal Lake and was yearning to know them.

Many people think that Dal Lake is the “ Jewel in the crown of Kashmir”. Undoubtedly I am be of the same mind with them. The sight was fascinating, birds were chirping and rejoicing in their own way. I might be unable to mention various species of birds who were wafting in flocks from one bend to next junction. Being a life sciences student, Albeit I envisaged there were some platyrhynchos and a few were nigricollis species.

Meanwhile we called a Shikara Wala(flat-bottomed boat) and fixed an amount of 300 INR/hr with him. We started our itinerary from the stop at Takdeer Park(Fate Park) to Char Chinari. Finally we reached Char Chinari. I loved this place for the million reasons. Its an incredible creation and indeed romantic and a best abode of solace. It looks over Jhelum running from South end. The sight was extraordinarily invigorating and influenced by magic mountain on all sides. From here we can see whole Srinagar city (the city sometimes known as janaton ka shaher).
