Oren's focus shifted back to the tall jimseomi woman after she had spoken so quietly, he let out a small chuckle. "Don't worry Kyung, when the wise one is in a trance, hardly anythin' can wake him." The Grey drone said as he decided to lead the way towards the one of the other caverns. Oren guided their way down a path away from the growing mosses that could be slipped on, and after a few moments they had all but left the large sleeping creature behind them. "C'mon, I'll show you the way to the gatherin' spot." He added, doing his best to be a decent guide.
However, before reaching the other end of the Almighty Raisins chambers, a drumming sound could be heard reverberating from further within the caves. The sound of which made Oren groan in slight annoyance. "Not this again..." Oren sighed while putting a hand to his brow.
Ferris on the other hand, looked excited by the music, his green eyes lighting up as he glanced up at Kyung. "Have you ever seen anyone fire dance before?" Ferris asked her with a goofy smile plastered on his face as the three of them continued walking towards the sound of drums.
Ferris’ eyes widened as she mentioned venomous creatures, silently he thanked the stars that the only animals like that around the caves were paramites. “It sounds like an interesting place to live, our people rarely leave the continent due to the Glukkons threats. But perhaps one day when things have calmed down here, one of our traveling scouts could make the journey there. Though I’d love to see more of the world myself one day.” The red mudokon admitted.
Passing by a large chamber, the two brothers haulted and took a look beyond the heavily gaurded doorway, turning to face one of the four guards on standby. “How is he?” Ferris asked the robustly built blue drone. “Still away I’m afraid,” He replied before noticing the jimseomi woman following behind them. “-And just who is this?” He questioned with an untrusting glance towards her.
“Kyung’s our guest,” Ferris began. “She’s not a threat to the wise one.” He explained to the guardsman. “Yes,” Oren sided with his brother. “We had hoped she could have an audience with him, but if he’s still in a trance, we’ll just give her a tour through the caves and send her on her way.” While the gaurd looked doubtfully upon the three of them, he took note that the unfamiliar woman didn’t appear hostile, letting out a sigh he moved aside to let them pass. “Very well, she may look upon his greatness, but don’t think just because you’re the sons of the shaman you can bring strangers here whenever you like.” He huffed in annoyance.
With a nod of respect to the older mudokon, the two brothers then guided Kyung past the four gaurds as they stepped within the largest chamber. “Kyung, this is who our people are tasked to protect, this is the Almighty Raisin.” Oren said to her with pride reflected in his eyes.
While the sky light was dim, the glowing mosses and varying bioluminescent mushrooms provided a spectacular view of the wide cavernous space, idolatrous runes decorated the stone floors, and at the center of it all was a large seed-like creature. His eyes firmly shut as the ancient being rested between two pillars of stone.

The veteran’s eyes were wide, both while trying to adjust to the dark and due to the feeling of curious wonder towards the murals on the cave walls.  Much like a child seeing something mind-blowing for the first time, Kyung gawked at the various images as they shined in the light while letting out a silent coo.  The longer she stared at it, the more her paws fidgeted, fighting the impulse to reach out and touch the mural just to see if it had a texture that was as smooth as it looked.
No, no, no, no– No touching the paint, even if it was dry!  Kyung’s conscience chided in the back of her mind, prompting her to finally turn her attention away from the wall and pay more attention to her guide as he led the way through.
“What is it like living underground?” She asked in a hushed tone, almost afraid that if she spoke too loud the echo would shake the caves. “Many of the species from Kayaiti live in cave systems like these, but the majority of them are established deep underwater than on land…”

Before Ferris got a chance to respond, his younger brother decided to answer the visitors questions. "The caverns keep us out of the rain, snow, and harsh winds. Most importantly; they keep us hidden from sligs and other threats." For a brief moment Orens stoic expression shifted to one of sorrow as he mentioned sligs in particular.
Ferris gave Oren an understanding pat on the shoulder that seemed to shake him out of his thoughts, allowing him to continue in his usual demeanor. "Living underground is confusing when you're young, afterall, having to learn the layout can be a large task at that age. But both the natural tunnels, and one's we've dug out ourselves, provide a safe place for resting, and it's easier to defend than an area out in the open." The drone then gestured to the guards as the three of them walked past another tunnel entrance. "Living here makes us feel safe, and it keeps us closer to the Almighty Raisin, so that we may share his wisdom." Realizing that he may have rambled on a bit, Oren then looked away awkwardly.
The older of the two mudokons then took the opportunity to find out more about their guest as he was still trying to decipher all of the drawings and marks she had made on her map. "So Kyung, is Kayaiti where you're from?" Ferris asked. "I'll admit, a place with underwater caves isn't something I've herad of before."

ARDENWEALD - Is there anything they regret not being able to save?  [For the Raisin]
"I have many regrets..." his voice rasped with age. "Gabbits, among many other species on our beloved planet have been destroyed, not by natural causes, but by the greed of the Glukkons uprising. Being within the walls of my cave, I could not save any of them." His eyes reflected the sorrow in his voice. "But where there is darkness, there is also light. And where there is tyranny, liberty will rise to defeat it. We must hold onto that hope."

Feeling his chest heave with the effort of keeping up, Oren slowed his pace to catch his breath. "When I find you, you guys aren't gunna be able to get away from me again!" He huffed as a lighthearted chuckle made it apparent that his threat was a playful facade.
"You'll have to catch us first you big lump!" His brother's voice sounded from deeper within the woods.
"He won't! Oren's as slow as a sleeping sleech!" Another voice teased from somewhere above him in the trees.
"Am not!" The young grey mudokon snapped back. Looking around in the tree tops above, he squinted his eyes as he struggled to discern the shape of his friend through the sunlight and greenery. As the leaves swayed, he could barely make out the faint outline of Fern's long feathers. I've got you now! He thought to himself as he quietly leaped for the lowest branch and began climbing up the trunk after her. Her nimble frame was just above him now, no more than an elums' length away. "We'll see who's slow now!" He grunted as he bounded upto the branch where she was standing.
"Oh no! What ever shall I do?" She said with friendly sarcasm as she backed closer to the edge of the tree limb, her brown eyes shone with a mischievous smirk as she was well aware of Oren's dislike of heights.
Oren held in a gasp as the nimble mudokon before him outstreched her arms, and had seemingly free fallen from the tree. When he was able to sum up the courage to look down below, he was thankful to discover Fern had landed on her feet.
"C'mon Oren, you'll never tag me at this rate!" She teased before disappearing into the forest below. The thrill of the chase ebbed away any fear he had of falling as Oren climbed down and followed the sound of Ferns footsteps. Knowing that they weren't allowed to roam much further from their cavernous home.
Making it to the border of their territory, the dark grey mudokon didn't have to look very hard to spot his brother. After all, being bright red in a lush green forest was a dead give away. Deciding to abandon the chase with Fern, Oren would settle for giving his brother a good scare by sneaking up on him from the far side of the boulder he was poorly hiding behind. Tensing his muscles, he crouched to remain more hidden, and watched his footsteps, avoiding the loud crunching of leaves.
Being close enough to hear his brothers breathing from behind the stone, Oren scaled it, momentarily looking down at his older brother before he leaped and landed ontop of him. Surprise was clear as day on the young red mudokons face as he flailed about, trying to shake off Orens weight. "Gotcha this time Ferris!" He yelled in triumph, sitting atop his brothers back.
"Yeah yeah, you win- now get off of me before you break my spine!" He laughed after the shock wore off, being replaced by a good humored grin. Sliding off to the side, the two boys couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the outcome of their game of chase. The brothers had almost always managed to catch eachother while their friend Fern had outwited or out paced the pair of them.
"You two slogs want to try catching me again?" She yelled from within a nearby spooce bush. It had taken a moment for Oren to spot her, as her dark green skin blended in flawlessly with the surrounding plants. Making her way over to them, she waited for an answer.
Ferris considered it for a moment, but deep down he knew he'd have to decline. "Nah, I better not," he finally spoke up. "It's almost time for me to-" As if the mention of his training had summoned him, all three children could hear their shamans voice echoing between the trees. "Ferris! It's nearly sundown, you need to practice your fighting techniques!" And with that, their day of fun was coming to a close.
"You guys can keep playing if you want, but I don't want to keep dad waiting, or he might have me get up early for morning patrol again." The scrab colored mudokon grinned at them both. "It was a good game tho!" Ferris smiled at his friends before obediently heading back home, leaving the pair of them behind.
While Oren didn't like the fact that Ferris had to spend so much of his days training to become the new chief, he had to admit that the thought of being alone with Fern made his heartbeat quicken. Though seeing the look of disappointment on her face made his pulse slow down again. "You okay?" He asked with concern.
"Yeah, It's just..." she started, "Do you ever feel like... Ferris is getting far away from us?" Fern asked, a blend of sadness and pride reflecting in her eyes as she watched her friend dissappear into the brush.
Oren was releaved to know that his own worries seemed to echo in her mind as well. The two of them knew that his eventual role in the tribe was a heavy burden, one that took quite a bit of his time away from his closest friends. "I worry about that all the time." The dark grey mudokon admitted. "But then I remember that..." His voice trailed off, would he dare to say it? "I'm not alone..." He ventured, unable to hide a flush of red on his cheeks.
Fern blinked in surprise, then smiled with what looked like relief and agreement reflecting back at him. "That's true." She responded with a peace in her voice that he had never heard before. "And I'm not going anywhere." She concluded with certainty.
Oren was used to Fern always being the bold one, taking the lead, and getting the group into mischief. But having his feelings for her out in the open, made him feel at ease, even if Fern didn't know his comforting statement meant more than what she understood. I know Ferris will be a good leader one day... and as long as Fern's here beside me, everything will be okay. Oren reasoned to himself, shaking off the last of his doubts. "We better be going too. We're not supposed to be out here after dark."
Taking that as a challenge, Fern got up and raced ahead of him. "One last game of tag on the way home?" She prompted playfully.
"If you think you can getta way from me a second time today you're wrong!" He taunted as he caught up to her, passing through the trees as fast as his his legs would carry him, the entrance to the raisin caves and the setting sun in full view.

Grabbing an unlit torch from one of the many large pots within the halls, Ferris used the edge of the cave wall to set the sticky solution wrapped in cloth ablaze and handed the now kindled torch to Kyung to allow her a better view. "Our eyes are adjusted to the lack of light down here, but I wouldn't want you to miss any of the finer details." Smiling at his guest, Ferris pointed out the many painted figures on the surface of the rocks.
Some of the primitive looking paintings were depictions of creatures currently found on Mudos, such as herds of scrabs, and packs of paramites hunting prey across fields. Others were animals long since forgotten by time. Although the paint dried years ago, it glistened and shone in the light of the torch, as if they were painted only yesterday. Strange shapes and symbols along with hand prints of several tribe members were scattered down the halls of the caves as the three of them all delved deeper still.
[Previous]
Kyung’s head immediately tilted in curiosity when Ferris answered her, and even offered to grant her entrance into the cave.  The gears in her brain began turning as a thought had occurred to her and her pensive gaze turned towards the entrance, she might not have heard about the Raisin before, but she did recall Tamara revealing a vision within her crystal ball that depicted the presence of an ancient figure somewhere around the Spooce Shrub forest.  Of course, of all the people that could be welcomed into the Raisin caves, why her…?
“Are you sure it would be alright?” The Jimseomi eventually asked with an expression of sincere nervousness on her face. “I’d be honored to see the caves, as long as I don’t disturb the Almighty Raisin,” She finally nodded, this time giving a brief yet polite bow to the Mud brothers. “I don’t think I’m familiar with them, but one of my boss’ close associates, a priestess and enchantress from Kayaiti, recently told me about an ancient presence… Is there anything important I should know about the Almighty Raisin before I go in?”
Organization policy or not, the last thing Kyung wanted to do was upset the native tribe, let alone the very being that was protected within the depths of those caves.

Ferris stood up from his bowing and listened to every word Lola had to say. A pang of sympathy for her people's struggles and past enslavement would have been evident on his face had it not been for his painted mask hiding his expression. Two of his closest friends had once been industrialized Glukkon slaves, and it made his chest feel heavy to know their pain was sadly a common problem among so many Mudokons. But Ferris tried not to dwell on the past, as Abe's revolution had freed many, and more were sure to join them in freedom soon enough.
Seemingly lost in his own thoughts for a bit, it took Ferris a moment to realize she had asked about his culture. "Oh, sure thing, what would you like to know?" The chief in training was always happy to share his tribe's traditions and history with those who wanted to learn.
[Ferris, Celebration of Color @raisin-cave]
After saying goodbye and parting ways with his brother, Ferris made his way towards the dance floor. Guided by the alure of music and flashing lights that could be seen overhead. It had been so long since he had last heard music other than his tribe's own traditional melodies, and he was wholeheartedly enjoying the new sights and sounds. So much so that he nearly bumped into someone!
Halting just before running into a mudokon wearing a lovely orange gown adorned with flowers, Ferris quickly apologized. "Oh, sorry!" The red mudokon started, "I'm not used to this many people in one place, I should really watch where I'm going." Scratching the back of his head with embarrassment, he smiled a bit behind his mask.
(@raisin-cave)
Lola has been standing at the edge of the dancefloor, watching the sea of masked faces, twirling gowns and robes and glittering jewellery, all spinning and shaking along to the music. The whole scene has her entranced, and so she only notices Ferris when he's inches from walking into her.
"Oh!" His apology shocks her out of her trance, and she laughs nervously. "No, no, it's okay. I, um--shouldn't really just be standing around, should I?" She offers him an apologetic look from behind her own mask. "I'm not really used to this many people, either... I mean, not with all of this... you know, all the music, a-and the lights, and everything, and my friend can't really dance, so, um, I'm kind of on my own." She casts another wistful glance out over the dancefloor, then looks back up at Ferris. "I-I really like your mask! Did you make it yourself?"

Ferris and Oren made their way towards the center of the festival, with the older brother practically dragging his sibling towards the festivities. "C'mon don't be so sour about this, aren't you happy to have a day off?" Ferris asked Oren with a mischievous glint in his eye.
Although they were both wearing masks, Oren knew very well that his brother got amusement from his lack of interest in social gatherings like this. The tall drone let out a groan in response. "I'd rather be sleeping on my day off," He stated while rolling his eyes. "I've been breaking my back to build our new settlement, and you know it."
Ferris smiled and nudged his arm playfully. "I know, but all you ever do is work. Getting out of camp for a while will do you some good." Ferris pointed out.
"Whatever. I'm going to go where its quiet." Oren asserted and walked away from his shorter sibling, heading towards the Market.
"Dont have too much fun!" Ferris called out to him. "I'll be at the Dance Floor if you get bored of pouting!" He chuckled.

Ferris will likely be found at the Dance Floor or the Lake, and Oren will probably sulk around the market place.
***Oren's a bit grumpy at first, but I think he'll like the festival once he gets used to socializing! 🎭
REBLOG! Where will we find your character?
The festival starts tomorrow evening! (Party time!) But where will we find your character? Reblog this post with where we’re most likely to run into your characters:
• The Game Gallery: This fairground has both carnival games and classic playground equipment. Among of which is an elum-go-round. Release your inner child, gorge on sweet snacks, and maybe even win a prize or two!
• The Dance Floor: What would a festival be without dancing? Find a partner and dance the night away to both traditional and modern music.
•The Lake: Time to cool off! The lake at the fishermen’s quarters offers relaxation and fun. Take a dip in the water, catch some fish or go for a canoe ride.
• The marketplace: Adjacent to the fair, surrounding Alf’s Rehab, is a little marketplace for local native goods and services.  If you like shopping or watch craftsmen at work, this is the place to be. ————————————————– Please reblog this post with where we’re most likely to run into your character. This will make it nice and easy to come up with ideas on where and how to approach your characters!
!!THIS POST DOUBLES AS YOUR PARTICIPATION CONFIRMATION!!
This way we’ll know which characters are participating!

Note
does your muse snore? sleeptalk? sleepwalk? [For Ferris]
how your muse responds to danger. [for the Almighty Raisin]
Ferris Sleeping Habits: Ferris doesn't have a snoring or sleep walking problem. But if Ferris is stressed about his responsibilities as a leader, he has a tendency to talk in his sleep. Most of what he says is unintelligible, but it does tend to wake up other people. (And annoy his brother Oren if he's within earshot.)
Almighty Raisin's Response To Danger: Danger towards himself is something he's almost always aware of. Being discovered by the wrong people could very well be the end of his long life. Though he dreads death, as most creatures do, he especially dreads the thought of being unable to share his knowledge and guidance with others. Incapable of moving from his chambers, his response to immediate danger is often just acceptance, and hoping he did enough to fix what's broken on Oddworld.
