Shouldn't it be spelled "Rareverse"?

good question!

in the earlier stages of rairverse, we really wanted a name for the planet that all the characters live on, but we didn't want anything that was a real word. we went on a random planet name generator and eventually got "rairu". we removed the u (since "rairu" is a word in japanese) and ended up with "rair"

so the name "rairverse" is meant to refer to the planet the characters live on, but since it's pronounced as "rareverse" it still evokes the idea that it's an AU with a bunch of rare characters. i hope that makes sense!

A year ago today, mod Shadow was inspired by a Conker stream to make an AU/rewrite of Conker’s Bad Fur Day on the blog @conkerrewritten​ 

Not too much time later, mod Polar wanted to do the same for Banjo-Kazooie. Putting our minds together, we came up with Rairverse. And what a fun time that’s been! 

It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed since we started on this project. We’ve come up with so many concepts and so much lore, it’s been hard to keep it to ourselves! Maybe that will change soon.

I drew @rairverse’s Candle, Conker’s dad who loves his family so much he cries by looking at a family photo. He’s full of love yum!

Conker’s dad, Candle. 

He’s a red squirrel who’s a librarian. He loves reading and wants to write his own books and keep them at the library. 

He can’t see very well without his glasses, but under the glasses he has little eyelashes. He’s also 3 feet tall just like his son.

He loves his wife and son so much it makes him emotional sometimes.

Anyone remember the scratch out art from childhood? I remember I used to draw flowers with those. Anyway, I replicated it the best I could in Paint Tool SAI and doodled some head shots! Not all of these characters have been revealed yet, so consider this a sneak peek! -mod Shadow

So here’s another big design change, Count Conkula! 

If he’s related to Conker, I figure it would make sense if he’s also a red squirrel. So I gave him the red fur, red squirrel ears and tail.
