It's interesting, y'know, Murtagh's musing on Galbatorix death, because what Eragon did to him wasn't kind... to Galbatorix.
Arguably, what Eragon did to Galbatorix was horrible. It was so awful dude immediately killed himself. But it was kind to the dragons. To Galbatorix' victims. The kindness was Eragon's acknowledgment of their pain, his sincere desire that it not go unchecked, not be forgotten.
Murtagh thinks of Galbatorix death in terms of "I don't think I'd be as kind as Eragon", but the thing here is not kindness. The thing here is Eragon caring more about helping Galbatorix victims then killing Galbatorix.
Because. And this is my point. Eragon has spent months now as the hero of the people. The Varden, the elves, all his friends and family, everyone he loves has been putting their trust on him, and all his mentors have been driving the responsibility of his position into his head. Eragon both has an extremely sturdy social net, and an immense sense of duty to the world.
Murtagh doesn't have a social net. Murtagh is, in fact, an extreme social outcast. He is not anyone's hero. So of course Murtagh will care more about killing Galbatorix than justice for his victims. The difference is not Murtagh being less kind than Eragon, the difference is Murtagh being more alone than Eragon.

how do I describe the excitement of eragon to someone who wasn’t in high school in the late 00s/early 10s?? it was one of very few book series that EVERYONE was reading - so much heart, politics, intricate worldbuilding with gray characters you will love to death alongside the most wonderful concept of a mindlink as a Dragon Rider!
a lot of people didn’t give it a chance because the setting was derivative of Tolkien but the moment you take the first book as a starter (written by a 15 year old no less), that’s where the similarities end and the series blooms into one of the most fun adventure fantasy series I’ve read.
Eragon’s growth is phenomenal to watch, especially because so much is focused on HOW he grows, which is where a lot of fantasy will skip on. Eragon definitely is a series where the author shows you, rather than tells you, and it creates a wonderful world with lots of great lore that you’ll invest yourself in heavily.
and Murtagh? No notes. Impeccable. Showstopping. My love for him runs so deep that it feels like I was born with it coded into my genetic material.
READ THE INHERITANCE CYCLE. No better time to do it than now with a new book coming out in November, and a new show next year!

I love Thorn, I'm was so sad that in the original series he only got to say like, two phrases
The differences between Eragon&Saphira and Murtagh&Thorn
Saphira: If you hurt yourself, I'm going to kill everyone involved. Eragon: *gets hurt* Saphira: Oh, little one. Come here. *cuddles him for hours* Thorn: If you do that, you're going to hurt yourself. Murtagh: *gets hurt* Thorn: I fucking told you. *grunts disappointed*

It's cause of things like this that I love this series of books so much
if you ever feel like your character names aren’t original or cool enough, just remember that Christopher Paolini named his dragon rider protagonist Eragon - which is just dragon spelled with an E

Disney+ has an Eragon tv series in the works, I’m gonna lose my mind oh my GOD
I’ve been hoping they’d do some sort of remake for YEARS because that movie was an absolute dumpster fire. Do I still watch it now and again? Yeah, it’s the only film adaptation of one of my ABSOLUTE favourite book series- but I also roast it the entire time 🤷🏻♂️ it’s all about balance 😂
But yeah holy shit, this had better be good, they have a LOT to make up for

Okay I'm writing because I just wanted to vent, just wanted to write a big ass wall of text to put my emotions in order don't mind me.
Techno was the reason for why I got into Minecraft, I was never a fan of the game before him. In 2020 I saw the Sad-ist animation Dream vs Technoblade a few days after it was released at random in YouTube recommended. Watched it and thought it was awesome, didn't even know it was related to Minecraft or anything. In the end of the animatic the pig girl had kicked that green dude's ass and won and I was happy cause I was routing for her (yes, while watching the animatic I thought he was a girl cause of the hair). So looking through the comments I found out that those characters were actually real people and went to check it out... that was when I meet Technoblade.
I watched his videos and through him got to know a lot of mcyt from the dsmp, and it was amazing, it was an entirely new world for me to get onboard on. And just like that I was so invested, during the major big events, during c!schlatt administration, during c!tubbo's execution, during the war between Pogtopia and L'manburg, c!Wilbur's death, Philza joining, c! schlatt dying, c!techno being betrayed, c!tommy being exiled, the destruction of L'manburg... everything, I was there for all that, they helped me get through the toughest parts of the pandemic. But even though there were all these streamers and all this content I was always looking for Techno, If he was in it than I always watched from his pov cause I knew it was gonna be fun ya know? Cause he was just so funny and great, he is the potato king and the pvp master and a force to be reckoned with, and in the rare time when he posted a video I knew for sure it was gonna be as good as the potato war, and to cherish it a lot because he didn't post often ya know?
When he first posted about the cancer I watched the video in disbelief and kept expecting for him to just say "bruhh you nerds actually believed that it was just a joke", but he didn't, he was serious, he was serious and I was in shock, like what do you mean, he's 23 years old there's no way there's just no way, bet by this time in the next year he will already be much better. There's no way, there's just no way, well, here we are.
... the last video he posted was on my birthday, april 2... Idk, idk how to feel, idk what. It was too fast. It was all to fast and I was not prepared.
I already lost someone from my family to cancer before, I think that's why this is hitting me so hard, it never gets easier.
My prayers go to his family, his friends, all the people he helped along the way through donations and in general, but most of all, they go to him. I pray for you techno, you were a great person and I'm very sad to see you leave so soon, you will be missed, but never forgotten.
Descansa em paz porquin.

Peter saving MJ
One of my favourite scenes is seeing Andrew Garfields Peter, or should I say Peter #3 save MJ.
The emotion you see him have once he realises he’s safely caught and saved MJ is heartbreaking. Because you know it’s him thinking of Gwen and how he wasn’t able to save her, but he was able to save MJ. Because he knew, from the moment he saw MJ and Peter together he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her. He wasn’t going to let Peter go through what he did.
Peter saving MJ was like his redemption. The tears in his eyes and his emotions truly got to me. Like you could see him think about Gwen on that very moment. She would be proud of him.
Even though I’ve always liked Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker, I never really felt attached to him. Until that very moment. Suddenly I had these new found love and respect for his Peter Parker.
That scene was powerful.
If anyone wants to talk about NWH. Feel free to comment here or message bc OMFG
