First layer of watercolor for my lioness painting! I outlined the designs and patterns in black watercolor and then used yellow ochre for the lighter values in the lioness. Next layer will be burnt sienna for those delicious warm red tones (°´꒳`°) Then I'll probably add some purpley-blues and cool browns for the shadows and dark values.
I filmed the first couple layers for Part 1 of my speed painting video, link below~
Which was posted a month ago (╥﹏╥) And I still haven't finished painting (つ﹏⊂)
I've been interning for a non-profit art organization and it's been a lot of work physically. My poor arthritic body can barely function. But it's been a nice experience making art. After the internship maybe I'll add photos of some of the paintings I made to my website portfolio.
Also I've been sick for two weeks. Can you believe this is my third time getting sick this year? I remember the days I would only get a small cold once a year (˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )

My grandfather took a trip to Africa this summer and photographed so many animals. He captured a beautiful portrait of a lioness.
So I had to draw it (ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣̣ ﻌ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣̣)

I was asked to create some calligraphy work for a D&D campaign.
Usually I like to use a paint brush so I can really taper the lines, but I decided to go with an ink pen.
This is my favorite one out of the bunch I made.

A sketch of a serval cat I made back in June.
I was sick for three weeks, so in week two I started this drawing and then finished it week three. Currently still dealing with post-sickness symptoms on top of my regular ailments.
I started this year healing from a surgery that took 7 months to heal, so I only dabbled in a tiny amount of watercolor here and there but mostly sketching in bed whenever I felt well enough. Hopefully I can get back into painting soon but I found it's best not to pressure things to happen. It'll happen when the time is right.
I don't normally date my work but I decided this one needed a date to remind myself that I made a cool picture while really sick. That's pretty rad.

African Wild Dog
I meant for the composition to fit on one page but I ran off the page... and the tail is one of the coolest parts so I taped another page ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭

In 2023 I made a project of my cat, Floki, in various poses inspired by cave paintings. I wanted to experiment with drawing and painting on different repurposed paper material; specifically working with charcoal drawings, sealing them with mod podge, and then adding oil paint on top.
These images show my process of first creating a thumbnail sketch in my sketchbook and then creating the drawing on different surfaces. The left is cardboard.
On the right, I put a layer of gesso down first so that you can see the drawing. It's on an image of a cave painting that I tore out of my art history textbook >.>

Acrylic painting of--you guessed it-- my kitty Storm Cloud!
I remember when we first got her, just a wee kitten, and I thought to myself, one day I am going to paint you.
It took lots of drawing and painting practice and many art classes in college before I finally grew the confidence to paint her in 2021.
I originally made a TikTok of this painting back in the day (I no longer have my account there but I luckily saved all of my videos), which I have just now posted to my YouTube Shorts! Check it out if you'd like <3 I'll be posting a lot of Shorts! It won't let me change the thumbnail waaaa ;^;
