There’s a toxic element to our community and it must stop.

I get that being an ABDL is lonely. It’s one of those fetishes that is still very in the closet. It’s easy for outsiders to misattribute ABDL with pedophilia. You may have been shamed by other people. Maybe a parent found you stealing diapers from your kid sibling or you told your therapist and they didn’t validate you. Maybe an ex found out and dumped you or a friend found out and spread rumors. And maybe you’ve been lucky and none of these things ever happened to you, but you’re scared they will.

So, yeah, this can be a lonely fetish and, I get that. And I get that there are a smaller number of out women within our community. That’s why you (lonely, straight dude) need to think about what you send to people. You need to remember that these women who are out face these same worries that you do and also worry about stalkers, rapists, and general creeps.

“Now, hold on! I’m not a stalker! I’d never rape someone!” Great! Good for you! But they do exist, and it happens really far too often (happening at all is too often, but you get me). How is some woman on the other end of the Internet supposed to know that ABDLJOHNDOE95 isn’t one of them?

Now, you can be the kindest man in the world and send the most nonthreatening message in history. And you may not see a response. Ever. And you aren’t entitled to one.

Running a blog that posts original content is hard. It’s even harder when random, thirsty creeps spam “send nudes” or dicks, or, in our community, “do you wet/mess.” I imagine that it gets real old right quick.

Imagine how much harder it is for those women brave enough to show themselves in dips or their faces?! They’re already dealing with judgemental vanilla jerks who want to police their bodies in the US Senate. They may have Dick Annon spamming their mail with how being a little is “freaky and wrong/you’re obviously a pedo.” They don’t need you getting upset at them for not answering your ask.

And I get it, guys, I really do. I used to be an entitled boy who didn’t know what consent was. “I’m a nice guy, so why won’t she talk to me?” Yeah, I’ve had that thought. Some days, I still have that thought, but I remind myself every day that the cute brunette at the gym doesn’t owe me anything. She’s her own person with her own identity and her own problems to deal with. I can be annoyed that she doesn’t want to acknowledge my exustance, but I don’t get to make her life more difficult.

So next time you’re thinking of reposting someone else’s photo instead of reblogging, or sending an ask or message, think twice. Ask yourself how this might be recieved. And if she doesn’t want to be friends, wish her well, and move the fuck on. Doing otherwise wastes both of your time and energy and gives her another headache.
