The Princess Bride is such a funny book to read after ONLY seeing the movie. Like Goldman made up a fake author from a fake country and proceeded to write the book as an abridged version of what the fake author wrote... and then he proceeds to add in notes to the "abridged version" mentioning all the boring world building stuff he skipped because it was boring.
Like shout out to William Goldman, man really did make an entire book that is just "the cool scenes you thought of in your head" and then made up a fake author to abridge so he doesn't have to connect them.
And it slaps

I went to fucking bed thinking I don't even need to bother watching the count, Kamala is going to steamroll him...
And then 71 million Americans proved that my faith in them was misguided.
She didn't even win the popular vote.
71 million Americans watched Trump rave and froth like a dementia patient on national TV, against possibly one of the most qualified women in history...
and they still voted for the rapist and pedophile and convicted felon.
Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ.
I'm so sorry. to the rest of the world.
maybe we Americans fucking deserve what we get, but the rest of you do not.
I'm so sorry.

To all the trans people who see this tonight, no matter what happens, we will survive. Trans people will still be here 4 years from now and 10 years from now and 100 years from now and tomorrow. We have always existed and we always will. The world cannot unlearn about us; we are too public, too loud, too beloved, too present. Ill be here tomorrow. Please stay here with me.

Kinda fucked up that we all coo and sympathize with "former gifted kids" but never talk about the students who had to stay late after school or over the summer for remedial classes/clubs, who struggled to get above a C, who were given up on or punished. Who tried so hard to understand or just couldn't. Who were grouped with the "stupid kids" (a classmate called us that in remedial math btw)
Autistic kids and adhders who can't relate to their gifted peers and are constantly alienated by them. Kids who struggled in school due to dealing with a chronic or mental illness or physical/learning/developmental disability. Those of us who have had to drop out of highschool or college. Kids who worked so hard and wanted to be seen as smart, but never were. Who watched as their peers seem to fly by them in school, while they were left behind. Who were bullied and put down by those in the gifted and honors classes. Whose confidence was absolutely destroyed by education.
I love you all and I'm so sorry the school system failed you. I'm sorry you weren't properly accommodated and given the education you deserved. I'm sorry people put you down for something that they never had to fight for.

If it makes any of you feel better, Donald Trump will have an uphill battle to change the constitution. He will need:
-2/3 of Senators (60)
-2/3 of the House of Representatives (290)
-3/4 of the states (38)
In 2026, 33 senate seats will be up for grabs, and we鈥檒l be able to vote for people who are against Trump and his ideals.
Breathe and remain hopeful because it鈥檚 not over. We can still fight and make Trump鈥檚 last four years hell.

i hate that i can't really talk to my mom about my feelings around the election.
she doesn't even know that i cried and considered doing something really drastic to myself on election night.
i love her, and i can normally talk to her about most things (outside of politics, religion, and queer stuff)... but, she's a Trumper. i don't think it's out of a place of hate on her part. she wouldn't want to intentionally harm immigrants, people of color, queer folks, etc...
i think she's misguided. and it hurts, because i do still love my mom.
familial love is beautiful. but it can also hurt like hell all at the same time.
