Why Return To Oz is a good Christmas show.
I believe return to Oz is a good choice for a Christmas show because it is a well known story. This will excite and entice children to come watch it because they are familiar with the name and the characters. It will also entice older audience members because The 1985 Return to Oz film was a sequel famous for being one to remember. I feel that this is a good Christmas show because the characters and storyline are interesting and easy to follow for any age group. It is also a good choice for a Christmas show because the modernization of the piece such as the songs used and the dance numbers will encourage the audience to get involved by singing along and getting involved as much as they can. Our interpretation of the show is also very dynamic so I believe that it will hold our audience members attention and using the different acting styles and techniques, it will also bring them on the same journey that the characters go on throughout the show.

Styles Draft 1
Slapstick comedy is a broad comedy that is characterised by absurd and vigorous actions. Slapstick Comedians are often be acrobatic or stunt performers. Fake violence has always been a key attraction of slapstick comedy and the name came from the use of the styles favourite weapon. The slapstick type of comedy seems to have originated in the 16Th century when One of the characters of Commedia Dell’arte, Harlequin used it on his comic victims.
Silent Comedy is a style of comedy used in film. It is related to Mime but it also has its own distinct features. It was invented in the early 1900′s to bring comedy to the silent film era. It has also influenced modern media such as Rowan Atkinson As Mr Bean.

Overall Evaluation
Looking back at our the last few months up to today, I think the process was successfully because our main goal was to entertained the audience and I feel like we did this well. Judging from our feedback for our two pieces, the audience thoroughly enjoyed the show and a few members of the audience came back to see the show again! the process alone was the most enjoyable process that I have had all year. Our company had a lot of fun and bonded a lot during the first weeks of the process. I think that this was great and vital to our pieces because we became closer as a company which helped everyone but also helped boost confidence for those who went as comfortable at the start of the process.
During this process, I learnt a lot about character work. I learnt different techniques that i could use to make my character unique. I also became a lot more confident during improvisation because of the various character work shops we dd that included improvisation. My weaknesses this process were my initial thoughts and feelings when it came to playing the soldier and my two Lates. My initial thoughts and feeling towards the role of the soldier were not the most positive because i did not know how i would tackle such a serious character.Although called in when i was late, I have now learnt that no matter how late you are, late us late and am now trying to do everything I can to make sure i get to college on time. If we had more, I think we should have looked at an easier and more effective way for the soldiers to enter with the blue cloth.
Overall, This process has been the most enjoyable process so far. I have learnt so much and it was great to work with actors from different companies.Although we have had our tough moments as a company during this process, i believe that they were heavily outweighed by the great times we had when we were bonding and when we were working in and on the show.

Friday 22nd May 2015
This mornings warm up was short but useful. We played Run if before doing an character/characteristic exercise where we had to roam around the room as our own choice of animal. The animal activity was very enjoyable for me because it was something new and different. When Laura came down, we were given an activity. It was capture the flag! We were split into two teams and told to hold hands. Laura had placed two flags somewhere on campus and with our hands held, we had to find our teams flag. It was a different but fun exercise because we gained a little bit more skill on working as a team. next, we got our RBG scripts and we were tasked with creating a short piece for the allocated scene we had been given. It was good to watch the other groups piece for RBG because i liked certain things they did and i think we can incorporate some of those into our piece. After lunch, we came together as our full company and continued the dance. for me, It was a good way to end the term because we were all together and it was fun even though my partner and i still couldn't get the dance right!

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”- Henry Ford
This week we have been working in our companies for the first time. We have used this week to get to know and learn more about each other as well as becoming more confident in our companies. Our next step, is to keep together through the challenges we may face next and judging by the progress we have made this week, I think working with this company will be a success. I have chosen a Rubik's cube because I think the first step we have passed is coming together. We were formed by the directors so therefore they have bought this Rubik's cube. The next step is keeping together which will be the unpuzziling of this Rubik's cube before we come to the success; The finishing off the beautiful art that was just random colours a few moments before.

3 Down. 3 to go!
Third show done! Well done tonight guys. I feel like this was the strongest show that we have done so far. There was a better energy on stage tonight compared to this afternoons show which was visually and auditorium recognisable. The transitions where more precise and quicker in both acts but act 2 was more noticeable from an actor on stages point of view. The energy on stage was more positive from the start of the piece which I think gave us more of an intent and incentive. It was one of the most energised performances we have had and should be a the standard for the next string of shows we do!

“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” – Michael Jordan.
The effects of the lack of ticket sales has finally made us aware of the consequences which has made people feel stressed and upset. For some people it is hard to buy and sell tickets because they may be having problems with money, they may not be confident enough to go out and sell or their families may only want to come if their child is in the show. However, selling tickets isnt a problem but an obstacle and like all obstacles anyone can overcome it. This quote has motivated me into picking myself up and giving my all to overcome the imaginary door that i have placed infront of me that blocks me from my sucsess.

20th- 23rd January 2015-Strengths, Weaknesses and Action plan.
My strengths: I have learnt lots of new useful techniques that help enhance my acting skills.I Have better knowledge on my vocal system and how to get my vocals warmed up correctly which will also help prevent strains. I also learnt that a healthy imagination can open an actors mind to so many different things. My Weaknesses: I let myself and my energy be brought down by another actor who did not give it their all. This affected the work that I produced which could have been much better. I should have taken more charge of my group for our presentations because we had ideas but there was no backbone and I felt like the only person trying to get something together.
Action plan: To take action, I plan to be the most happy and energetic actor in the room so that my company members and I will reflect on each others mood creating a better energy in the work space. I also plan to become more of a leader when it’s s needed to ensure that work gets done and make sure Im not reliant on someone who doesn’t t want to work.

Weekly Evaluation
This week has been very productive. We have pieced together a lot of scenes and made improvements on a lot of scenes. We had a negative start to the week. There was a lack of focus that was created on monday morning and lasted until thursday. We did manage to get a lot of work done this week but with the amount of time that was wasted telling the group to be quiet and arguing about warm ups made a huge difference on the work we completed compared to what we could have achieved this week. We managed to show the whole final sequence to the whole company. We also managed to get everyone involved which means the final scene is complete. Overall, this week has had its ups and downs but having the final piece of the puzzle is giving us the hope that we currently lack. Next week is our final week to get everything sorted so i hope that everyone is going to be on top of their game as i most certainly will.

Final Evaluation
The project was successful. In the beginning we were unfocused and we did not commit to trusting our company members durning trust exercises. However, as the weeks went by we grew closer as. Company, gained the ability to focus instantaneously and we gave our full trust to our company which was shown in the lifts performed in out performance . This resulted in a superb performance. I think the most successful part of the performance was the feather concept because we created the idea and we stuck to it throughout the entire performance. The transitions between the carriers of the feathers where strong and smooth and I thought it was a very powerful link because it had the audience coming up with their own ideas of what our performance may have been. If I where to change any part of the performance it would be my solo piece because it was created in a short space of time and if I had more time I feel it could have been a more powerful solo piece. As an individual I learned to not treat myself serious but take my work serious. I learnt to be more focused during rehearsals and warm ups because a company is only as strong as it's weakest link and not being focused, talking and messing around made me the weakest link. For the strength of the company and myself I became focused. As a company, we learnt to value each other's opinions and the independence to get to work without the directors. We also learnt to trust each other which brought us closer as a company and as friends. The audience had mixed views about our performance. Some members of the audience that I asked thought the feather concept was too literal because it was in the image we where given. Other members had the idea that the feather was a symbol of innocence in a dark place for example when the feather was removed from Tabitha and the torture scene started it was a loss of innocence. There were several different ideas that the audience had which I thought was very interesting bearing in mind that the piece consisted of random scenes that we came up with but pieces together.

"Veni, vidi, vici"- I came , i saw, i conquered.
Today we performed our ways of seeing piece for the last time. the image and quote to me represent our journey as company. We have been through thick and thin together and above all else everyone gave their 100% during the performance and i could feel it whilst performing.
