"I shouldn't need to, but I do. Nobody joined when my full name was on the ads." Bethany sighed again, taking a deep breath. "They undermine me because I'm a girl and apparently girls such at technology."

  “I don’t think you need to change your name for that. They shouldn’t treat you any less than what they expect out of the others in that class. Do you know why they undermine you?” He asked.

"Yeah, if only it were that simple." Bethany replied with a sign. "I try, they don't listen. That's why I go by Rae sometimes, so people don't see a girl's name on the roster and automatically write the club off."

  “Well you should tell them that, then!” He said trying to encourage her. “It’s not fair for you to have to sit and take their B.S. when you’re the President. It’s all about communication and helping each other.” He said to her.

I'm not really into going stag, I always feel awkward without someone to dance with, you know? And besides, I'm in the middle of building something, I'd like to finish. 

  Maybe you could find friends to go with. I don’t think dates are that necessary anyways.

And you’ll never know, maybe you’ll find a date at the dance. Everyone’s going to be wearing a mask, you never know if you’ll find your prince charming there.

  Adrian’s eyes widened. “No. No. nothing like that.” He smiled. “We’ve been really good friends since we were little.” He laughed. “I just feel the need to look out for her.”
