Yo, I'm Kiley. I'm a fan of horseracing. I'm a huge geek and I know too much about jockeys for my own good. I'm new to handicapping but between @thelookofeagles and I, we have got things covered. Feel free to talk with me! If I use anything of yours and you want it removed, feel free to message me and I'll be happy to remove it.
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.

Perhaps my favorite shot of the weekend: I almost have to handicap a race when trying to choose where to shoot (it was very crowded Santa Anita Derby day anyways, so up the stretch is a good bet if you don’t want arms in your shots). The far turn is more dynamic, but you risk losing the eventual winner if they’re a closer or coming from off the pace. I was counting on Justify and Bolt d'Oro to separate from the rest of the field by this point, and Justify came away with an uncontested lead that he carried into the turn. He has a huge stride and a massive shoulder, so it was great to get that on display as he rounded the corner.

That last one might be because it’s a character from a movie. Copyright stuff and all. Or they might’ve figured it was someone’s actual name and you usually need special permission to name a horse after someone, if I recall correctly. That second name would’ve been perfect though.
I submitted the name “Backstage Kitten” to Ramsey Farm for the Kitten’s Joy- Cat On a Tin Roof foal, but the name “Sniper Kitten was picked.
Where does Sniper come from.
I know the JC can reject names but like…I have a confuse.

Hopefully he’ll have some kids that can replicate his successes then...
We lost Scat Daddy way too soon and it becomes even more evident during turf events like Royal Ascot.

It’s Spirit and Rain’s son named Spirit as well and they somehow jumped forward in time like 140 years or something despite that? And on top of that, supposedly this Spirit is obviously wild and proud to be wild, but he lets some little girl ride him? Ooookaaaay.
Oh my God I’m going to puke
Like when I saw this my heart rate sped up I am so upset

Not gonna lie, it’s always weird to see Todd Pletcher smiling. But you can also clearly see that he cares about the horses on his string and is proud of their accomplishments.

That moment a Bloodhorse staffer takes advantage of an excellent headline.
I might need to subscribe to their print magazine, just because of this.

Okay, but Fame and Glory died today (or yesterday) too from the same thing. Both stallions died of apparent heart attacks while breeding mares. Like what the heck, two in 24 hours?

Since you seem like you're good at finding nice racing pictures, I'm looking for a new phone wallpaper because I'm tired of mine. Do you have any nice vertical pictures of racing? I'm not too picky about the horse but I love AP, Arrogate, Songbird and oldies like Secretariat, Smarty, Sunday Silence, Ruffian, etc. I hope this isn't confusing, I'm just having a hard time finding good pics that fit my phone screen! Thanks!
So, it’ll kind of depend on what kind of phone you have, as well as the perspective. I find that photographs taken from the front as the horse charges toward the camera fit best on my phone. Some, if a large enough image, can be cropped while retaining image quality, but you’ve still got to be careful. The one for Songbird, for example, if you can zoom in on her, you should have a pretty clear image. I have an iPhone 5s so I’m basing on what fits well on my screen though. I’ll try to provide a few different angles and most of them are racing, but feel free to ask if you want me to find some of them just in their paddock or their conformation photos if applicable. If I’m on the right track but you’re not feeling any of these, let me know and I’ll keep searching! It’s not a problem, because I love looking at the photography anyway. :)
