By far my favorite part of the speech
Obama Decries Politicians “Who Want To Decide Who You Can Marry”
We don’t think government can solve all our problems. But we don’t think that government is the source of all our problems – any more than are welfare recipients, or corporations, or unions, or immigrants, or gays, or any other group we’re told to blame for our troubles.

do want.
Lassi is something I have every now and then with Indian food to soothe my mouth when things got too spicy (even for me). It’s been awhile, but I am pleased to have discovered how easy it is to make at home. Rich, full-fat yogurt goes a long way but lowfat or nonfat is fine for everyday...

hello again
Don't ask me why I want to blog, I don't have a good answer for you. All that I know is that I'm fascinated by it and by those who can keep it up daily and have made a career out of it. I want to document my life on the internet! I want to have something cool happen every day that I can talk about! But the reality is that usually, nothing special happens to these people each day. They find simple things to talk about, and they go from there. I can do that, I think. So for the __th time, please allow me to introduce myself.
I'm a normal, boring 25 year old living and working in the DC area. I provide administrative support for my rich boss, which occasionally includes driving his Maserati to random places and buying his dogs birthday cakes. I have a gaggle of idiots that I call my friends and family that I love very much and spend a lot of time with. I live in the city with my boyfriend who constantly has energy and an opinion (those opinions may make a few appearances on here). And of course, there's Winston, my mom's English Bulldog puppy.
I want to make this blog a place where I can document my life and possibly entertain others along the way. I have the chance to live in an awesome city close to so many awesome things, my job affords me the opportunities to drive cool cars and go to cool places (sometimes), and the people that I'm around constantly make me laugh and think. I hope that this tumblr slowly begins to fill with great memories, pictures, advice, and snippets of every day life that I can look back on and smile. I just have to remember to upload.

makeup!
If left alone in Target, I will spend entirely too much time in the make-up and hair sections and I will buy so many things that I don't need. But I have to indulge myself every once in a while! I've started following a few make-up/beauty blogs and they've made me want to go out and buy a few new things. I've decided to share four (+1 last minute decision add-in) items I bought today.
N.Y.C. Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder
I've never known the correct order to apply powders, blushes, highlighters, bronzers, etc. I've always improvised. I watched a video recently that laid it out simply: use a darker bronze color (the upper darker color in the bronzer compact I got worked well for this) to brush a line contouring right along the bottom of your cheekbone and blend upwards, then apply the blush (I use N.Y.C. Color Wheel Mosaic Powder in Pink Cheek Glow) above the contour color and blend. Finally, apply your highlight color (the bottom color in the bronzer compact blends easily and leaves a sheer golden glow on your skin instead of making you look greasy). This routine really contours your face and brings your makeup together!
N.Y.C. Eyeliner Duet in Through the Storm
Since I have brown eyes, I'm going to try a subtle purple line along my bottom lashline to make the color really pop. N.Y.C. offered this awesome duo with a great purple and a standard black pencil liner, which you can never have enough of in my opinion.
elf Makeup Mist & Set
In the same video as above, a makeup mist and setting spray was recommended. elf is an awesome brand because they offer all of the products I'd like to try but am hesitant to spend $20+ on at a very low price. The desired effect of the mist to leave you with that "glow" - the spray is supposed to moisturize your skin while also setting your makeup so it stays put for the day. I checked out the packaging - this spray is packed with all kinds of good stuff: aloe, green tea, cucumbers, vitamins A, C, and E. I see no downside in this! I sprayed it on my face this evening - it's very refreshing and didn't mess up my makeup at all. It left my face looking a little more hydrated, maybe with more usage the "glow" will increase.
elf Lip Balm in Pink
I love love love this color. I'm not a big lipstick/lip gloss wearer, the standard stick of spearmint Chapstick has been my tried and true lip treatment for as many years as I can remember. I've been looking for a nice pink (as well as coral, yet to find that one) and I think I can finally say I've found a favorite. This is a lip balm, so the color is sheer and just enough to not make it look like I caked it on, even though I continuously apply it over and over and over. It's lightweight, not sticky, a little tingly (?!), and I love the color.
And because I said I spend a good chunk of time in the hair section as well as the makeup section, I thought I'd share the latest hair product I picked up, though it's the same one I always get and not very exciting:
Garnier Fructis XXL Body Thickening Mousse
For the days I decide to wear my hair curly. I love Garnier's formula - it leaves just enough hold while also leaving my hair soft.
I got some really good products on my shopping trip to Target today and I'm excited to continue using them!
