RABID
An Original Novel by A. Crow
SUMMARY
A mutation in the rabies virus causes the disease to sustain the host for a longer duration by omitting hydrophobia and developing far more concerning side effects. While the result may seem like something out of a George A. Romero film, walking corpses are the last thing anyone needs to worry about. These poor souls are very much alive.
A group of five survivors struggle to hold out till help arrives, but conflict within the party may prove fatal.
Elsewhere, in a private facility, Doctor Kenski and his coworker Doctor Runik work day in and day out to engineer a vaccine while questioning how far they are willing to bend their sense of morality.

Author's Note: This story was was inspired by a real life encounter with a rabid human that happened in my friends own backyard. It got me thinking about just how frightening rabies really was, that it has a nearly 100% kill streak. How much scarier would it be if it infected faster and sustained the host? What would that look like, and what would it mean for humanity? While the result in RABID may be a little exaggerated, it certainly makes for a great horror story.
