This one's soo crazy... the whole series is composed of 3 parts with part 1 being EndoSaku, part 2 is possessive UmeSaku, and part 3 is CEO of Yearning TogaSaku. Drove me insane, all 3 parts equally spicy and SO well written... but of course Togame will have my heart<3

I'm just curious why do you think Sakura extremely shipped with almost everyone? What's the main appeal about his ships? Even his fics are so well written . I'm just new here and I only watched the anime

If you want a serious answer, here's mine:

Sakura is written as a protagonist that receives a lot of love. A large part of his story and development as a character is learning to accept love and to love others in return. So naturally, a lot if not all of the characters surrounding him are written in a way that they feel deeply for him. Whether those feelings are platonic or romantic or anything at all, everyone is free to interpret for themselves. The bottomline is that Sakura is important to these characters, and so it reflect in how they treat him, which also reflects in how the fandom sees their interactions.

For example, my favorite ship is TogaSaku/Kamesaku!!! (For that annoying anon, yes i also ship TomiToga pls get out of my ask box). Tgsk was specifically written as two characters that inspire and drive each other: for Togame, Sakura was proof that standing by one's principles is the correct way to live. For Sakura, Togame was his first encounter with someone he truly wanted to understand. The way they're written practically begs for shipping to happen, whether platonic or romantic, because they're so emotionally tied to one another. This is true for many other Sakura ships and thats why I ship so many of them!!! And I encourage you to look at all of them with an open mind too!!

The way Nii-sensei writes his story is very character and character-relationship driven: the story literally will not progress if they don't interact and inspire change in one another!! And of course, where there is meaningful, deep interactions, there is shipping 😋

My shorter, more lighthearted answer is that he was specifically produced in a lab to be loved!!!! How could anyone NOT love him!!!!

I love love love when we get small bits of their day to day lives in between major arcs. And I feel really vindicated seeing how bad Sakura is with texting lmao at least I got that detail right in my Valentine comic 😭

I also love when they show the inside of Sakura's house because we get little updates on his progress of healing hehe. In today's progress report, he's been trying out cooking (again!!) and finished up Anzai's gifted butane gas. I love it because I can imagine him being shy and bashful using something his friends gave him... And then feeling happy that he has such good friends now... And then being annoyed because he fucked up his Ramen noodles lmaoo

I always love seeing him cook!!! I love seeing him try more new things!!! I love knowing he's taking care of himself with the help of the care of his friends!!

(but seriously... He burnt the ramen noodles?? How did he do that?! 😭😭😭)

I also love the mall scene aaaaaaaaa shopping with Sakura... One could only dream... I hope Nirei gets him a fugly new shirt that he'll pretend he doesn't want to wear and yet seeing it in his closet fills him with warmth and memories of Nirei.

And this scene killed me.

In conclusion: Nii-sensei is stronger than me because if I had to draw this little cutie over and over everyday as a JOB? I'd die.

I'm sorry dear but anyone who loves Sakura should be angry about how little we know about him until now . No hate for nii but he can't explore Sakura's past like other characters. There are many questions unanswered about Sakura

I bet you as Sakura lover are disappointed about how awful Sakura fleshed out as MC ....🥲

I am only going to respond to this because it was worded politely, but please note that I do NOT like spreading hate towards my favorite manga series. If you don't like it, don't read it.

First of all, I am not angry with how Sakura is being written. In fact, i find the slow reveal of his past very rewarding-- instead of an exposition dump outright telling us Sakura is like X because of Y (like in many shounen series), Nii-sensei uses Sakura's POV in experiencing his new life in Makochi. How he reacts to this new life, whether positive or negative, can be used to infer what his past was like. I think its a beautiful way to flesh out a character, and it makes him feel more human.

I understand liking Sakura so much that you want to know more about him quickly, because trust me, I do too. But this mode of slowly revealing who he is, really suits Sakura. If you actually met Sakura (or someone similarly broken and traumatized...) in real life, he probably wouldn't even talk about himself or how his day went without constant probing (like how Nirei talks to him). Much less would he talk about his obviously very traumatic experiences. Slowly showing the reader why his character is the way he is: its VERY Sakura like.

And it's not like Nii-sensei leaves us completely empty handed when it comes to Sakura-- in fact, we know quite a lot about him already! You just have to read Windbreaker above a 5th grade reading level 😁 (as in, there are context clues and hints scattered everywhere. Just based on the beach chapter alone, we can guesstimate that Sakura was not neglected by his parents/caretakers in terms of basic care-- he had a room to himself, went to school, etc. But he was definitely emotionally neglected: left on his own even during summer break, never actually experiencing a childhood. How many more hints do you need? Does it need to be written in a 5-paragraph dialogue dump for you to understand?)
