#2| The Real Tisci by Jadorebad
Winter may be still here, but i’m ready for Spring and ready for this much needed interview with Torei designer of Tisci. THE fashion house that is truly leading the way when it comes to meshes and mixing high end with urban essentials.
{Q&A} Its a huge pleasure to meet you again. You’ve been one of my favorite designers on imvu for the LONGEST. How long have you been creating on imvu?
Tisci: Thank you, it’s nice meeting you again. I’ve been creating on imvu for about two years this month.
Me: In those two years you have made a huge impact on imvu fashion. Do you feel you have or are you still learning and improving?
Tisci: Yes, definitely! i’m always finding new ways to create heads by adding more details or realism. I find new ways to texture my clothing and manipulate the limited amount of mesh we have on imvu to suit my vision. I love to “one up” myself every collection i release.
Me: I love to hear a designer not rest on his\hers strengths but to challenge them self to do more and push their creativity. What has been a few challenges you’ve faced as a designer?
Tisci: Hmm i would say one is the mesh. Imvu has recently gotten rid of meshers who created a great variety of products to derive from. Of the one left only like one takes request but not customs, and it takes two weeks for them to actually do your request. Being in college also hinders me because i can’t stay on all day and create and it would leave no time for me to even learn how to mesh. So overall the mesh is a challenge.
Me: I could see how that could be a HUGE challenge. You’re personal life being more important but you don’t want to let down your customers. Do you feel the pressure to always deliver?
Tisci: Yes and no. I don’t come on imvu for a cheque, I do it because i enjoy it. My core supporters know that i work mainly on a collection basis. I don’t drip 10+ products every week. I do a collection with about 40 items that can be worn interchangeably. Then i also do mesh heads which is extremely popular so i have to switch between clothing and cosmetics. Mesh heads get collections and random uploads because of demand. I’m pressured because I don’t want to go too long without putting clothing out there, and pressured because my customers constantly want new mesh heads. But I’m more comfortable providing quality over quantity, which the catalog severely lacks at the moment.
Me: That’s completely TRUE!! So i can imagine when you find that some on imvu are trying to copy your style even take it. That must piss you df off.
Tisci: Yes there have been people who have bitten me and in the moment it made me upset because i hadn’t even put my full vision out or collection out. To eliminate this I’ve stopped showing publicly what I am working on, cause someone who works faster then me and trying to get a cheque is going to take my idea. This happened to me with the Sidone Python boots {which gratefully were still popular} and thigh high vetements sock boots.
Me: So you came up with the idea first and someone took it from you? Smh, I addressed the same topic with another interview i dd that those who call themselves designers shouldn’t have to steal from someone. It’s like if you have to steal, you’re clearly not a designer, you’re a copier.
Tisci: Absolutely. But most of these creators don’t think of it that way. A lot of them don’t even have a brand name. They aren’t watching fashion shows to find NEW and different pieces. They are making what is in the moment, what they see A-list celebs wearing in the media. So they can earn money which not a problem. However I’m going to do anything I possibly can to maintain the fashion designer presence. I’m going to have ads, full on campaigns, things you don’t see everyday. I want to share this vision I have in the back of my head.
Me: You should like me, tbh I really want to do my own fashion magazine, and more. You just have to say “you know what, I’m just going to do it” and do it.
Tisci: Right, you should definitely do it. I’m sure it will require a lot of time but trust me it is truly needed in the community. Imvu fashion has been on a decline since Powers left, and only a few staples are left holding down that fashion tradition.
Me: I use to model for Bobby {Powers} and he told me to go for it. He always reminded me that i had such a love for fashion and drive for it, it’s always been a passion and I’ve been allowing work, real life, and taking on other projects that i let my personal goals for imvu get away from me. I’ll definitely be taking my advice and doing my own ASAP! But last two questions, what do you love and hate about creating on imvu?
Tisci: I love using it as an outlet for playing with ideas and the challenge of having to manipulate imvus dynamics to fit my vision. I hate that there is not people willing to collaborate to make new items, such as body types, new meshes, and such.
Me: Yesss to the different body types.
Tisci: It would be nice if there was monthly events that can be held by creators in one location and things like that. I wish it was more about creating and pumping out products for IMVU on their catalog and more social.
Me: I SOOOOOO agree! I’m willing to make it happen, I just need like minded creators, designers, bloggers to come together and make it happen. So i’m with you. We just have to always practice what we preach and lead by example.

#1| Sittting with Margeila by Jadorebad
I had the chance to sit down and talk with my good friend Margeila at my NYC penthouse this morning. We discussed fashion, personal style and his view as on of the most trending creators on imvu.
[speaking with Margeila]
Me: Well other then you being one of my favorite imvu creators, i wanted to interview you because you seem to have your own style. Where does that come from?
Mar: To be honest, i don’t know. i just been into fashion a lot since like 2013/2014ish.
Me: I can see that you are very grounded with your own style and it translates to what you create. Are these pieces you would wear in real life?
Mar: Hell yeah. I only make what i would wear in rl. When i started creating it wasn’t to please anybody. It was because nobody was making shit that i would like to wear.
Me: I love to hear that. You have a lot of creators who design for “imvu” and not design to their liking or their own personal style. This being imvu, how have your creating changed over the years?
Mar: Well i only been creating for 1 year and 3 months but i think its getting better, what do you think?
Me: I’ve seen a change in your clothing. More attention to details. The wrinkles in the shirt, the realism with the ripped jeans and jackets, the jackets hanging off the shoulder.
Mar: Yea i try making it realistic as possible. I’m still learning though.
Me: Since we we’re speaking about “personal style” do you feel the pressure to create for those who want the latest trends?
Mar: ion really follow the latest looks. ion fall to the hype, if i like it i make it.
Me: {clap} good to hear. Now a topic that most creators fall victim to and that’s having their products copied. How has this affected you?
Mar: It don’t lol. I don’t care just shout me out if you do.
Me: Lol you don’t find it fucked up?
Mar: I mean i do but oh well. No need to bitch bout it. Eitha file a dmca or stfu lmao.
Me: Lmfao. I’ve said to some and maybe to you, that i feel those who call themselves “creators or designers” on imvu, shouldn’t have to steal. If you know how to create or design, do so. Why steal and then call it yours?
Mar: ion know. I guess people think they slick.
Me: Do you think its a problem? Do you feel imvu should step in an create some way you can release products and have it copyrighted?
Mar: They do that, that’s what dmca is. You file a dmca and they take your product out that persons shop.
Me: Ohh see i had no idea, i’m guessing that’s how some creators get banned. Or is there some sort of penalty?
Mar: Yep. Too many dmca, you get banned.
Me: Ohh okay. Gotcha. We’ll thats good to know. You spend your hard earned time and money creating, to then have someone steal it from you is fucked up.
Mar: Yea. If you steal from me, just shout me out lol.
Me: Oh so you’re not filling no dmca?
Mar: Hell nah.
Me: Lol.
Mar: That’s too much. You gotta email them then send a letter through the mail, get a electronic signature and some more shit.
Me: WTF you have to go through all of that, just to file a complaint?
Mar: Yep. I am never that pressed.
Me: Lol true. Last two questions. What’s one thing you love and hate about creating?
Mar: Love the outcome, hate the time it takes to make.
Me: What do you see for the future of creating for imvu?
Mar: TBH, i don’t see it going nowhere. Gonna be the same shit. Shitty creators on the top page, and good creators on page 60 lmao.
Me: Lmao well hopefully we can get your products to the top of page 1.
Margeila: hopefully.
