He wanted to create even grander paintings. What he wanted to paint was his own self, to paint an even closer truth. He finished his greatest masterpiece, even she smiled and said, “It’s wonderful.” It was the painting of the true miserable nature of humans, one that would make anyone turn their eyes away…

So...
I’m taking time out of my busy days just to point out that Sasuke can’t not know about his daughter. Why do we even discount what Naruto said when Chouchou asked him for details about Sarada’s dad, something like “maybe it’s more apt to ask Sarada about that” and then going “yeah, he’s been away most of the time travelling” when Uchiha baby said she can’t do that because she does not remember. I mean wouldn’t that imply that Sasuke was at least around during Sarada’s early years? Because I doubt Dear Lord Seventh (godblessthishunkyadultnartoe) would tell Salad to talk about her dad if that wasn’t the case, and The Sass Master Sasuke maaaaaaaaaybe only dared point his Kusanagi at his own daughter because, uh, children grow and it’s been more or less a decade since he last saw his kid and the extra level of caution brought about by the sudden appearance of the alien Uchiha prompted him to be on guard? I don’t know, I could be wrong, especially when Kishimoto is proving to be such a troll.
But yeah. Reading comprehension. Helps us out from time to time.
#naruto gaiden#i really shouldn't be tumblring right now#but ugh the lack of discernment got to me so so bad

Reading.
While I concede to the knowledge that the Filipino novel as a genre needs a lot of polishing and refining, Philippine short stories in English (and in the Mother Tongue, if we're talking about the likes of Efren R. Abueg here) are absolute gems.
So I got this book.
Other wonderful and notable reads from Merlinda Bobis are Fish-Hair Woman and Banana Heart Summer.
Other significant Filipina short story writers in English with equally significant pieces--off the top of my head--are Paz Marquez Benitez (Dead Stars) and Paz Latorena (The Small Key).

I was tagged by lynxyz eons ago, so here. Sorry if this took too long, Lyn.
As for who I will be passing the baton to, I choose you, asian-beauty-samurai.
(I hope my handwriting is legible enough to warrant comprehension, hahahaha. Also sorry if the picture turned out grainy.)

The Last Japanese Mermaids
For nearly two thousand years, Japanese women living in coastal fishing villages made a remarkable livelihood hunting the ocean for oysters and abalone, a sea snail that produces pearls. They are known as Ama. The few women left still make their living by filling their lungs with air and diving for long periods of time deep into the Pacific ocean, with nothing more than a mask and flippers.
In the mid 20th century, Iwase Yoshiyuki returned to the fishing village where he grew up and photographed these women when the unusual profession was still very much alive. After graduating from law school, Yoshiyuki had been given an early Kodak camera and found himself drawn to the ancient tradition of the ama divers in his hometown. His photographs are thought to be the only comprehensive documentation of the near-extinct tradition in existence

To shuukyo, whose tag ramblings got me really intrigued in the Tsukkiyama dynamic in the first place - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THERE’S A FOURTH PERSON TURNING TWENTY IN AUGUST IN THE TSUKKIYAMA FANDOM (that I know of anyways) PFFFT —-
You wanted them being science nerds, so have this lame comic about Tsukki teaching Yama how to love his freckles a little more through constellations LMAO IDK. IT ISN’T EVEN DONE YET. THERE’RE 4 MORE PAGES TO GO /CRIES FOREVER. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON’T TELL PEOPLE YOUR BIRTHDAY EARLIER, SHUU. I CAN’T FINISH IN TIME —-
But I wanted to post something in time for your birthday, so have the first three pages pffft.
Also, please forgive any lousy, inaccurate constellation drawings LMAO
