Did I daydream this, or was there a website for writers with like. A ridiculous quantity of descriptive aid. Like I remember clicking on " inside a cinema " or something like that. Then, BAM. Here's a list of smell and sounds. I can't remember it for the life of me, but if someone else can, help a bitch out <3

hot take here but the way people talk about “redemption arcs” and how they require that the sinner repent, debase himself, and then atone for his sins in order to be accepted back into the warmth of readers’ love, but there are some unforgivable sins for which no atonement is enough
is INCREDIBLY culturally christian

some very important info re: paid accounts~
I am not a lawyer, but I can decently interpret legalese and, being as I also suffer from tl;dr syndrome and assume others may as well, I took one for the team and went through the updated TOS for the post+ accounts and highlighted (what I understand to be) the most pertinent information, which ultimately comes down to this:
You cannot monetize copyrighted works (aka charge and earn money from fanfic, fanworks, etc) and if you do decide to put your fanworks behind a paywall via Tumblr, when you are inevitably sued, Tumblr will not protect you and will not defend you and you alone, personally, will be responsible for whatever monetary damages said lawsuit results in.
If anyone is a lawyer and knows I've gotten any of this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me/this post.
Screenshots taken from Tumblr's TOS (updated 7-21-21), Stripe's Account Agreement, and the post+ FAQs.
1. Your paid account will not be hosted by tumblr; it is routed through a 3rd party.
2. By signing up for a paid account, you're entering into an agreement with Stripe, so in addition to Tumblr's TOS, you are also bound to Stripe's TOS.
3. Stripe, like Tumblr, will not defend you or protect you against any lawsuits.
4. Furthermore, you may end up owing Stripe money (indemnify = compensate)
5. Tumblr's TOS specifically states that you can't put any content on your post+ account that violates any laws, including laws that protect intellectual property rights of others. This is super important, because Tumblr's post+ FAQ also states that you can post anything that you would regularly post on tumblr, which I'm sure many will take to mean that gifsets, fanworks, etc are fair game, since all of that stuff can be posted on tumblr now. However, the difference is, you're not making money from the fanworks you're posting or reblogging now. Once money enters the equation, the game changes.
Tumblr is making it seem like any and all content goes for post+ accounts, knowing 90% of this site is fanworks. This is not true and you'll be opening yourself up for lawsuits if you charge for fanworks.
6. Tumblr further disclaims any and all liability in any legal issues.
tl;dr: Please do not make a post+ account, bc you will be opening yourself to lawsuits and if that happens, Tumblr's response will be not our problem, you agreed to all the terms which said you couldn't do that, sorry not sorry. Please protect yourself.

I wanna say it again for yall: if you see a deer that doesn’t look right and doesn’t act right it’s probably chronic wasting disease
Document it and your location and contact the DNR
I promise you it’s not a “notdeer”. It’s just being destroyed by a prion disease.
Be responsible and help track it. Hell. Contact animal control and see if they would like to cull it.

Why do you reblog your own fics so much?
Because someone might as well!? And look at this. Look. At. This.
Does this look right to you??
These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.
Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like...some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.
Anyway, I’m still going to reblog my shit...

i haven’t heard the word “cyberstalking” in a long time but it used to be a recognizably bad thing to stalk someone online, to try to dig up everything you can on them, follow their every move online, obsessively post about them, barrage them with messages, block evade, etc - but now it’s just normalized and seen as something totally “ok” to do if the person in question is “problematic” in some way - like the same people who say “if your partner does this run” will turn around and do the same thing to a stranger online they dont even know and they don’t even think twice - it’s abuse, it’s harassment… just stop it

“In March 2018, Peter-Lucas Jones and the ten other staff at Te Hiku Media, a small non-profit radio station nestled just below New Zealand’s most northern tip, were in disbelief. In ten days, thanks to a competition it had started, Māori speakers across New Zealand had recorded over 300 hours of annotated audio in their mother tongue. It was enough data to build language tech for te reo Māori, the Māori language – including automatic speech recognition and speech-to-text.
The small staff of Māori language broadcasters and one engineer were about to become pioneers in Indigenous speech recognition technology. But building the tools was only half the battle. Te Hiku soon found itself fending off corporate entities trying to develop their own indigenous data sets and resisting detrimental western approaches to data sharing. Guarding their data became the priority because the only people truly interested in revitalising the Māori language were the Māori people, themselves.”

The funny thing is. No one was planning to boycott the event. All of us were mad and dissapointed we weren't being represented in a PRIDE event. Sure there were only 11/40 (now 12) people who are in the MCC event. But it still leaves out Lesbians and people of colour (POC) who are part of LGBTQ+.
In fact you actively turned people away from the event for nitpicking on the toxic part and not doing your own research.
The Dream stream party is 1 and a half hours before the actual event and we were planning to then go to the LGBTQ+ streamers to support them. That way we would've still had a fun day and also have a fun way to cool down so we could cheer them (the streamers of our choice) on. And no one was actually mad he didn't want to be or is part of the mcc. We jokingly got mad but were looking forward to supporting the streamers who are LGBTQ+.
We knew that there were trans people in the event. But when there only 2/40 people who are part of the trans umbrella it disheartening. Like yay!! I get repentation but what about people who are lesbians? They have no one in the event who can represent them.
Now I can also say that just because you aren't hurt by what Techno or Joey have said or done doesn't mean you can tell others how they should feel. It doesn't matter if you are a poc or part of the lgbtq+ community (specifically a lesbian for this matter) and weren't hurt by what they said/tweeted or by their actions mean that you can dictate who can and should feel hurt and when people can accept the apology of lack there off.
It's like saying that a show I like should be liked by all because I was okay with it. That doesn't mean others can't hate the show. And just because they don't like it doesn't mean that I have to tell them they they should like it. Because I am not a divine being who has the power to force people into liking things that I like.
Have they apologised or shown they've grown from their mistakes? Perhaps. But that doesn't mean that those who were affected should be forced to accept the apology that was given. They can acknowledge it and read it, but if they feel the apology is forced or just so that they look in a more positive light again then they don't have to accept it. Because it doesn't feel genuine.
So again just because you are okay with their actions doesn't mean others should be. I do agree that the few people who ere toxic and very horrible. Not going to lie there. But a huge majority was trying to educate others and they have the right to ask for an apology if they were affected by it.
Yes Youtube is donating money, but why make a huge spectacle out of an event for pride if there were only 11/40 (now 12/40) who were part of a community. Either way, of people choose to watch the event or not there's no problem because the money will still be going to the organisation.
Now the organisation isn't bad. However the Trevor Project is firmly in the US. Sure I could be nitpicky and say they should've chosen an organisation that was more international. But at the end of the day it's still going to a good cause.
Yes Scott shouldn't got harassed, but again a lot of the community was just telling him he could've done better and could've easily find people on YouTube who are LGBTQ+, could stream, could represent poc, and could've help give them a huge impact on their careers. Either way a lot of people would've watched mcc especially if there were 10 large streamers, 1 for each team, and so that they could not only love the dynamics of the teams, and still helped the event be inclusive and fun while allowing people who like the big streamers be introduced to new Content Creators. Especially for pride where most if not almost all of teams would've been mostly people of the community this event was for.
Next time if you are going to complain about us not doing our research better then you should be able to do your own research as well and accept when to be called out when you mess up. Stop trying to only look at the toxic side of the community and try understanding why we are upset.
Twitter you dumb fuck.
Boycotting mcc because Technoblade is in it? It's a charity event, his chat is known for being rich! Also, why would he participate in a LGBT+ charity event if he is homophobic? Are you still looking for an apology for the 5 year old tweet after doxxing and harrassing him off your platform?
Boycotting mcc because no lesbians / trans people? There is actually trans people in this mcc, can you please do research? Also, the members of this specific mcc was handpicked by youtube gaming, because they needed to find people without twitch contracts / can stream on youtube? It is not Scott's fault?
+ 'Then don't partner with Youtube' Youtube gaming is donating 100k in the name of mcc.
Doing a dream team mcc watch party on the same day to boycott mcc? This is just shitty behaviour, you pissed your favorite cishet white boy isn't in this mcc? You complain about no representation then ask why more cishets are not included?
I wish scott smajor a very happy mcc. The man deserves better
