In some ways, one’s family is the most oblivious. But what’s so important about knowing? In the end, what helps you overcome obstacles isn’t brains, but someone who’ll take your hand and won’t let you go. In the end, that’s family. Even for heroes, even if it’s an even greater hero, the people they go back to in the end is family. The scars we receive from the outside world, the scars we receive from life experiences, even the scars that we receive from family, the people who’ll embrace you and be on your side until the end… In the end, it is family.

50 Things I’ve learned from Reply 1988.

I finally finished watching Reply 1988 despite of hesitating for quite some time. As expected, it was a beautiful ending. It wasn’t as cliche as most of the drama which is why I really like it a lot. The last 2 episodes are surprisingly the best part of the drama for me. It’s a shame I stopped watching it for a while after Episode 18 because you know, I really hate watching endings. Not because of how I think it would be predictable but because I just don’t want to end it. I just thought that their Youth is so beautiful that’s it’s also heartbreaking for me to see them bid their farewell. The last 2 episodes have a lot of heartwarming scenes that I cried a river. I was so emotional while watching it. All in all, my 40 hours of watching it was worth it. Really worth it. Here are 50 things I’ve learned while watching the drama. I hope you’ll take time to read it one by one and take it to heart. 

1. A cold person has a warm heart. 2. Money isn’t always everything. 3. Eyes never lie 4. Being able to graduate isn’t important as long as you’re a person with good personality. 5. Family isn’t just based on blood. 6. It’s fine to be confused about your dream and what you want to do in the future. 7. Everyone can be smart on their own way. 8. Second chances. 9. Youth is beautiful. 10. You can also like someone instead of waiting for someone else to like you. 11. We’ll do whatever it takes not to be a disappointment to our parents. 12. Try and try until you succeed. 13. Every parents dream is for their children to be healthy and have a successful life. 14. The reason of running away can also be the lack of treatment. 15. Parents always have a soft spot for their children. 16. Sometimes, parents unknowingly treat their children unevenly. 17. Everything you see isn’t what it really is. 18. Superman can also be weak sometimes. 19. There will always be one person who will make you forget all your insecurities. 20. Having to eat your mom’s cook is the best feeling in the world. 21. Misunderstanding might lead into bad impression. 22. Rebellious child lacks a comfort from their parents. 23. Friendship lasts longer. 24. It is alright to be angry and to curse. 25. A person that doesn’t weep during funerals is actually the saddest person. 26. Not all wishes are for good. 27. “I love you, son.” is the best thing a child would want to hear from their dad. 28. Defend yourself on someone who tries to step on you. 29. Adults feel pain too. 30. Everything passes by and ages but we can’t deny we always want to go back during our youth days. 31. Sometimes it’s always the best to express how much you love a person. 32. Accepting a new person in life isn’t about forgetting the dead ones. 33. There’s no such thing as Santa. 34. Another term for fate is timing. 35. First love never dies. 36. Never hesitate on something you know you want to have. 37. Don’t lose hope even if you only have 1% chance. 38. Sometimes we need to lie if we want to keep a person in our life. 39. Sometimes we need an illusion to be happy. 40. If there’s anyone who will hold you until the end, it’s our family. 41. No matter how it seems that someone else’s things are better, they’ll always have their faults. 42. We can never give up without trying. We should be prepared to get hurt and suffer. 43. We should always be considerate on how our mom feels. 44. “Sometimes it’s okay to be deluded – if you can make your mother happy by making her think her cooking is good”  45. Mothers are the strongest people. 46. If you love someone, tell them now before it’s too late. 47. Time passes by for everyone else. As much as we’ve grown, let us not forget our parents are also growing old. 48. Youth is never coming back. 49. Our parents don’t automatically become a parent when we’re born. 50. A parent can never win on a child who knows how to decide for themselves.
