Artist specialized in paintings of Chase bank on fire
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Alex Schaefer impasto works depicting branches of Chase bank going up in flames in daytime. They were from a series by him called “Disaster Capitalism,” and apparently the banks (and cops) would pretend he was planning acts of arson to try and make him stop painting. Private property definition in a Socialist context: Private property refers to a social relationship in which the property (means of production) owner takes possession of anything that another person or group produces with that property (means of production) and capitalism depends on private property.
Examples of means of production: A piece of industrial machinery, a mining pick, a tractor.
NOT private property: your Toothbrush. This is what Socialists call: Personal Property.

working class person: I’m forced to beg for money and am at the mercy of other people’s goodwill as I’m facing serious suffering and/or death because my wages don’t cover the expenses I need to literally stay alive
friends of working class person: we will scrape together some of our own funds at the possible detriment of our own families because we have no other choice if we don’t want our friend to, and we can’t believe we have to say this out loud, die

The saddest thing about Santos-Dumont is that he truly believed that flight would bring peace to the world. He did not patent or profit from his inventions, because he believed once humanity learned to fly and everybody could see the world from above, we would learn to live in peace.
So later in his life, he became deeply depressed, as vivid accounts tell, when nations started to use airplanes in World War One. He tirelessly pleaded to international institutions and fellow aeronautic pioneers to ban weapons on airplanes, and to stop air warfare and war altogether, with no success. It is very likely that this stress and depression led him to his early death in 1932. He was only 59 years old.
While not flawless, Santos Dumont was a man with high ideals, who wanted the best for mankind, and was unfortunately confronted by a violent, uncaring world. Nevertheless, pioneers like him brought us airplanes, helicopters, and eventually spaceships, with all the endless adventures and possibilities they have brought us. I hope that his soul rests easily in the fact that his genius and ideals are not forgotten.
And I hope that, someday, when humanity rejects hate and joins together to reach for the stars, there will be a starship full of peaceful explorers who fly into the stars, proudly bearing the name and the spirit of Alberto Santos-Dumont.

"Greve", poesia concreta de Augusto Campos, 1962.
#acessibilidade: está escrito "arte longa vida breve; escravo se não escreve; escreve só não descreve; grita grifa grafa grava; uma única palavra" e "GREVE" escrito varias vezes por cima, piscando, vermelha.
-
"Greve", would translate to "Strike", is a concrete poetry by brazilian artist Augusto Campos, 1962. The text reads something like:
"long art brief life; slave if dont write; write only dont describe; scream underline graph engrave; one only word" - and the bright red "STRIKE" written, in red, on top of all the previous text over and over.
