I always have a problem about which Founder to ship with which other Founder.

Like, Salazar being an absolute grumpy arse whenever he could but being super sweet to Helga by helping her baking and was secretly a better cook. Or Rowena being very tempted to ditch her wand and kick Salazar in the balls because he dared to argue her theory about some advanced magic she found.

Then I pictured Godric pestering Rowena as he showed off all his ‘impressive musles’ to a scowling Rowena, who secretly found it endearing. And also Helga blushing furiously when Godric presented her a dragon he just killed, a toothy smile on his handsome yet still bloody face.

But just when I thought I was already confused enough, the thought of Salazar fussing about Godric who just got hurt was too perfect to ignore. Or about Rowena and Helga being really cute girlfriends who braided each other’s hair.

Deciding the suitable pairing for the Founders are so difficult - and there are only four of them.

Why do people think helga is the sweet one of the founders when she’s obviously the sassy queen with a resting bitch face? Everything she does and says is literal shade. Godric comes in with his usual chivalrous smile “Oh look it’s the Knight with a sword up his ass. Nobody’s in danger G, go back to sleep.”

Salazar plans to have his house to be the hard faced thick skinned snakes, “Do you not still sleep with the blanket your mother gave you as a child, oh fearful one?”

Helga hufflepuff being a BAMF nobody wants to fuck with without having to try. I heard her shades literally block the sun for days.

Helga: *slips inside the Gryffindor home, shutting the door quietly behind her* 

Godric: *teases* They must be working you to the bone, and no magic to help!

Helga: *smiles fondly, setting her things aside*

Helga: *tuts* They are good people.

Helga: *quiets* They are not all like that. *shudders* 

Helga: *firmly* They are kind, good folk…

Salazar: *darkly* It’s reckless… foolish! … Dangerous.

Salazar: *leans forward, intent* They are unpredictable…

Helga: That is all…

Salazar: *sits back, glaring* For good reason.

Helga: *persists* If we did not separate ourselves, they would surely come to understand us…

Salazar: *quietly* You are far too trusting Helga. 

Godric: I don’t particularly care for the mundane lifestyles these muggles seem to lead… 

Godric: - We now have an insight into the workings of these “witch hunters”…

Salazar: Any of ours?

*stunned silence*

Godric: *swears* Monstrous cowards!

Helga: *sadly* It wasn’t carelessness… she lacked control. *pointed look*

Helga: We are too far spread.

Helga: That is unfair Salazar. We may have developed a certain level of control… 

Salazar: *scoffs*  

Helga: … And no elders nearby to pass along their knowledge… I fear that we have not had enough opportunity to learn… 

*Godric and Helga fall silent, the room suddenly heavy*

Headcanon: Like Salazar Slytherin, each founder had a hidden chamber. Godric Gryffindor made a training room full of magical weapons, only to be opened by a true Gryffindor. Rowena Ravenclaw made a library full of every book ever written, muggle and magical, updating every day, only to be opened by those who trukly crave knowledge. Helga Hufflepuff made a simple room, made to cater to the needs of anyone who needed it. To this day, it is known as the Room of Requirement.

I have a headcannon that Helga Hufflepuff was a gothic emo (I've always found them to be the most accepting) and only wore black and the other founders teased her by bringing her "happy" yellow flowers and that's where she gets her colors

And maybe one time Gryffindor finds a honey badger and he's like sweet just needs to be yellow and after hours of frustrating spell work he tries "sunshine daisies butter mellow turn this stupid badger yellow" and it works
