This year wasn’t good or bad it was sort of like limbo—the unnecessary parts of a season finale that should’ve definitely been shaved off. I feel more contemplative, I’m getting to an important age soon and to be honest I never could clearly imagine where I would be at this age as a kid. I would laugh about it and make jokes like “when I become an adult” but I never truly envisioned growing up and I am starting to mourn my childhood and how much of it I lost to things out of my control. I don’t know how I can move on from the depressing things that happened to me that still affect me to this day and in a way I’ve never had a true outlet to truly and honestly talk about these feelings. I don’t know if I can ever truly forgive my parents or myself to be honest. I feel like the state I’ve been in for years is just walking to nowhere. I’m not sure where I’m going with this but what I’m trying to say is I’m scared as shit to be an adult. I spent half my entire teenage hood in a mf domestic chamber, no experiences, no friends, just me, my phone and my computer for school. I’m turning 17 next year and I feel twelve☠️

legit so annoyed about the way the corporate media wants to paint those women waiting outside the court as crazy and as only being there because Luigi is hot. I looked up pictures of them outside the court and they all held signs and were there to send a message: "health over wealth", "denial of medical care = violence", "murder for profit = terrorism", "the United States healthcare stole my livelihood", "insurance lobbyists line politicians' pockets", "healthcare reform NOW". Yeah, they're there because he's hot for sure. Also, there were a lot of men as well but hey, that's not helping the narrative right?

The flashbacks in “Don’t be afraid, just start the tape” are occurring in the gay demimonde of 1973 San Francisco, just on the cusp of the AIDS epidemic.
The episode makes no mention of HIV-AIDS. The disease won’t enter the popular consciousness until over a decade later, so it’s far too early for young Daniel Malloy to realize how much he’s flirting with death by hooking up with random guys.
But the country’s earliest AIDS death has already occurred by 1969. The monster has secretly already begun its rampage. By now Louis has personally disposed of 128 San Francisco “homophiles” that he’s lured back to his apartment with the promise of drug-fueled sex. It’s an astonishing death toll that will pale compared to the thousands of gay men about to die.
There’s so much going on in “Don’t be afraid, just start the tape” that there’s no space to discuss public health. The events are so intimate, confined to several days in a small apartment, that the claustrophobic horror would be undermined by overt reference to the outside world. And vampirism is already such an obvious metaphor for blood-borne, sexually transmitted disease that explicit comparisons would be awkward, even tasteless. But this awful spectacle of gay men lying in sickbeds or begging for their lives while facing death in dingy apartments is about to become much more common.
