Kiara whipped around, surprised. She still wasn’t used to working regularly with other people.
“Uh, it’s a six, I’m pretty sure,” she said, attempting to smile but unsure of whether or not she could pull it off. She wanted to smile, sure, but her face could betray her.

“ Hey, Kiara, ” Scotia spins a hundred eighty degrees in her chair to further catch her colleague’s attention.
“ Do you remember where titanium ranks on the Mohs scale? I seriously can never remember. ” Sure, the Internet is at her finger tips, only just having hovered over the keyboard seconds ago, but it’s so goddamn slow she would rather pull her hair out strand by strand then wait for a search result.

Kiara sighed, very quietly. All she wanted was to work in peace. People didn’t seem to get along with her, after all.
“It’s kaiju blue,” she said. “It crystallizes after some time.”
Normally Kiara could go on for hours about the subject, but she didn’t really feel like talking at the moment.
Gigi had been through her fair share of cuts and bruises to be told to go to medical care for a bump on her head, especially since she had enough of the medical team to last her a lifetime.
“I hit my head, not gave myself a concussion” she said, sarcasm weighing heavily in her tone. Her gaze went back to the blue samples besides her then back to the woman infront of her. If she wasn’t getting an apology, then Gigi sure as hell wasn’t going to give one.
“I spent enough time in the medical unit, Thank you” she pointed down to the samples “These things… this stuff looks familiar, what is it?” As far as she was concerned, she had made it this far and found something that sparked her curiosity (even if it did result in her getting a minor head injury), and seeing as how she and hundreds of other people were putting their lives on the line for this planet, it wouldn’t hurt to find out just what they were against.

She was quickly recruited by K-Science.

Kiara blinked. This woman did not intimidate her, although Kiara felt as if she should. After all, the woman was, from her build, quite obviously a jaeger pilot, and much more physically adept than Kiara was. Still, no fear came to Kiara, only a mild annoyance.
Kiara kept a blank face.
“You should probably go to medical for that bump,” she said flatly, ignoring what the woman had said.
Gigi hadn’t felt like sticking around for the ‘try-outs’ and had snuck away to do some more exploring of her new home. One of the rooms that did catch her attention seemed sealed off to only those of the right personnel and after much debating in her head, Gigi waltzed right in and casually played it off like she belonged there.
Whatever was being done in here was something she had mixed feelings about, stopping in her tracks as the glowing crystals caught her attention. This stuff reminded her of her Mother, may she rest in peace, a woman who had believed there was much more to the Kaiju race then what humans wanted to accept.
She had just approached the samples and leaned in closer to inspect what exactly it was before hearing someone yell. “Shit-!” she cried, jumping up and hitting her head on the lamp that was in her way. Rubbing her head in pain, Gigi knew she was going to have a lump there as she directed her attention to the person who had shouted at her
“What the hell man, you didn’t have to shout for all the angels in heaven – I’m standing right here!” She knew she was in the wrong and that she shouldn’t have even been here in the first place, but like usual her temper had gotten the better of her and she was now fuming at the woman.

Kiara was working. Of course she was, all she seemed to do lately was work. Not that she minded, of course. It was a fascinating new project, really--the crystallization of Kaiju Blue.
The project was one that required specific attention, so she barely registered when she heard footsteps coming through the door. It was seconds later when she realized that it must have been a person. She whipped around, and saw someone dangerously close to the Kaiju Blue Samples.
“Hey! Don’t touch that!”
