Gallery MOMO is proud to present 'Thoroughfair: A Performance Art Evening.' Half-performance art exhibition, half-street party, it’s sure to be a synergetic pageant to open the mind and confound the senses. In homage to the carnivalesque, the art world as we know will be turned upside down. High art becomes street art. Private collection becomes public access. Fools become kings and kings become electric drag queen DJs. The solemnities and etiquettes give way to a celebration of free, creative expression. Join us for sacred/sacral ceremony of dancing, storytelling, boundary-pushing, and space-creating. This will be the first time that Gallery MOMO is utilizing the service road outside the gallery. Bundle up or deck out to enjoy an evening of performance art, food, wine, and good energy. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. For more information, please contact Heinrich at [email protected] | 021 424 5150.

CLUB DE QUAID, curated by Zenobia Marder and Alessandra Petzer was an interactive evening that tested the limits of hyper-masculinity through the fabricated deconstruction of gender norms. Be prepared to enter a space of hyper-stimulation and hyper-simulation.

“Femme in Public” saw the Vaid-Menon team up with Cape Town stylists, designers, photographers, musicians, writers, activists and performance artists to document a live fashion protest across the streets of Cape Town. Superbalist fashion maven Gavin Mikey Collins co-ordinated and directed the shoot that saw the likes of Umlilo, Kieron Jina, Sandiso Ngubane, Githan Coopoo, Vuyisani Bisholo, Quaid “Queezy” Heneke and Joshua Allen disrupt the heteronormative and colonial gaze with their unwavering celebration of femininity.
